  1. I love football, but hey if you are a football coach like myself that likes to trout fish... What are you waiting for. I have a big farm, or I would be trying to get the job myself. Ideal situation! Fish/ weight room in the spring, coach football in the fall. Come on!
  2. 4a fan no I am from Whitwell,I live in Seqautchie Co. but have a Soddy Daisy address, but go through Bledso. Co. when I leave my farm. I have been Teaching and working with football since 11/18/02 at Red Bank. We just spent over 30,000 dollors on the weight room and have got the boys to work. I am really enjoying the new experience.Where are you from? I am at this site because we will scrimage Warren this August.
  3. Shadrick69 I can't explain how much I miss you guys, lot of similar work to do here at RB. YOU guys, will have a great season, work and see.
  4. Volunteer, I was'nt puting MTSU in same catagory. I am just saying they run a similar offense to witch Will is better suited for. Sewanee and MTSU run the exact same offense. Different competition I agree, I think Will could be successful either way. These are only a few schools Will could be successful in going to. AF, navy, are teams that run the midline, and Will is not a D-I running back.
  5. What kind of a team is Warren County going to have this year?
  6. Walk on at U.T.C prove people wrong or right, either way, still have time for the good things. Use what you have been given to better serve>
  7. Please, Hixon should have rolled this year. BIggest problem. disipline, country club attitude! Those days are gone at U.T.C. MOve on Maybe U.T.Ha! hope things changes there too. Have'nt liked what I have seen their sence 99 when i went there and watch T. Martin toss the ball behind his back and act like he was to good to be there.
  8. David Berger at Lake County. The guy desirves a shot! Has a lot of experience under Brewer of Grundy, and Tim Taylor at Marion. Whipped my but as Jv Coach a time or two. Biggest asset understands and respects kids, they will fall over themselves to play for him. Sorry! don't touch me coach. I think Lake Co. still has room for football!
  9. Oh, by the way, U.T.C.S smartest move in last ten years. HIring Allison> Allisons smartest move as head coach to date, hiring Gwine Matthews. His biggest folley, over looking heart of city. Iron Will! Although Will took a but whipping in are region game, he remained a leader and fought to the very end. Cried like a baby, and I wept with him, but In a different way. They bounced back and everyone knows the rest of the story.
  10. I love af football, but hey i am at a different school now, going through the same things i went through then, now, but two years ago at a little unknon school, as the d-line o-line coach then I put Will through a little test. if they were to beat us well!they did"nt but probably should have. They were to solidify their their line that game in the rain. Wills classic move is to roll right to shift the defense then roll right where he has 2 options, non witch i was fond of However with his outside shoulder covered, and taking a regular pounding,Will was out of his zone! AF will put will out of his zone. He is too little and too tallented of a ball player to confront d-1 d-ends and sam l-backers. Or may I say too smart! Trust me go to sewanee or mtsu and light up the world.
  11. I don't know if they have offered, but St. Andrews would be a good fit. They have a great staff, and like to throw the ball around. I think Will and Clint Satterfield's boy could make a difference in the program. Not to mention Will could get an ivory leage ed. in the South. They have some of best facilities around.
  12. When i go to a clinic i try to come away with at least one new idea or concept, and i am usually successful in doing so. After awhile i think you will find yourself at practice teaching a point and think where did i learn that technique. If you are like me you probably won't remember, but 9 of 10 times you probably picked it up at a clinic or camp listening to, or watching other coaches. Clinics are also a good place to meet other coaches and pick their brain. I love going to schools that run a like offense/defense. Many times you will be able to identify things that may give you trouble and how to adjust. What coach has'nt went in to half time behind or close made one of these adjustments and have it to make a difference. Go learn, enjoy!

    Hardest Hitters!

Stone cold Steven Austin, senior to be,Whitwell. Only Person to hit Bubba Austin, who is his older brother(witch was Mr.football finalist and played in e v w shrine game)drive him back, and dirty his backside.Great kid to boot!
  14. Isn't Coach LOwe still at Lincoln County? If so, what is he coaching and how is he doing?
  15. Long sack, Lowe is back at lincoln co. I coached with Danny at Sequatchie co. he is a hard worker, friend, coach. I have'nt seen him in awhile, but i am sure he is doing a fine job at lincoln. I will have to agree with Sequatchie, Sequatchie has the best stadium in 2-a. If there is one better i would like to see it. If s.pitt has its lighting problem fixed, they are second to none in my book for 1-a, however their visitor dressing room could use some work.I agree vic has really made a difference. I would give Whitwell a most improved vote for stadium and team.
  16. I ment the 4-4 is our base defense, sorry. Was in a rush.
  17. Throw 46 is the 3-3 stack like the 3-5. The defense i drew up really is an adjustment out of the 4-4 stack whitch is our base offense. what I mistakenly called a 3-5 is really I guess like you said a 3-3 cover 2 with a free safety. We are in groups i.e. 1 2 3 4, we just take group 3 out and go to cover 2 instead of cover 3. Boyd Buchanun is really the only team we seen in the spread, we just scrimaged coffee last spring to experiment some things for Boyd. Did little good Boyd kicked our tails.
  18. sorry about the 3 post about 3-5, i am a new member and did not think my messages were getting posted, found page two! However to space cowboy, i would think outside linebacker would have to take qb, don't you, because the end would have b gap safety would drop into coverage after fake.
  19. After getting an education from coffee co. last year, that we could not cover the spread with the 4-4, which we did'nt think we could but you know how stuborn one can be, especially coaches. I drew up the 3-5 which controls the gaps and allows for the free safety to take qb if they run the option out of it.Where am i going to be weak. Young coach would like to know.
  20. Last years meeting between these two schools was in the media quit a bit, because the head coaches of these schools had it out (verbably) at mid field before the game. I could be corrected, but I think the S.Pitt coach accused the Jasper coach of sending a spy to his practices during the week. The S.Pitt coach who is sort of notorious for applying and then turning down jobs, was to have told the Jasper Coach he would have his job. Who knows if any of this is true because both towns are small and rumors do get started. So, what I have heard could just be that, a RUMOR
  21. In defending the spread offense with a single back a 3-5 cover 3 scheme works well especially if the team is trying to option off of it. You can contain all of the gaps and still have a safety on QB. Where am I weak at? Young Coach wiiling to listen.
