  1. A good time from home to first would be from 2.6 - 2.9
  2. What team ceased to exist? What position does your daughter play?
  3. There's a big difference between "signed" and "verbally committed". Players cannot officially sign until after their junior year. They can verbally commit much earlier.
  4. In the past few years he has scheduled FSU, Alabama, and Tennessee, but you think he is worried about scheduling FHU. Please think about what you're saying.
  5. Baylor scores 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th to come from behind and win 2-1. The Lady Red Raiders repeat as State Champions. Goodpasture beats Boyd Buchanan 3-0 and repeats as champion. Soddy game is tied at no score in the 4th. Lenoir City game is tied at 1 each in the 5th.
  6. Goodpasture wins it 3-0 to take first place.

    Boyd/FRA

Boyd wins 7-5. They move into the finals to face Goodpasture.

    Boyd/FRA

Boyd is up 3-0 in the 4th.
  9. Who produced the hits for Lenoir City?
  10. In the 18's keep an eye out for the Nashville Nighthawks two teams. They both will be tough.
  11. Did Elizabethton make the mistake of pitching to Vaughn??? Maybe now that LC is going to Memphis and meeting some new teams for the first time, schools will pitch to Sarah Vaughn. I hope so. The girl deserves to get some pitches.
  12. BAYLOR, BAYLOR, BAYLOR
  13. If you want good fundamental hitting instruction, go to the University of Tennessee elite hitting camps. There are no two better instructors around than Ralph and Karen Weekly.
  14. In Division II all teams will have to go through Baylor anyway.
  15. I agree that junior Lillian Hammond from GPS is the best that I've seen. Ask the girls who have played against her, and I think they will agree. Last week in a game she had the head coaches from Tennessee, Alabama, and Tennessee Chattanooga all watching her play.

    Homerun Leaders

Add 3 more homeruns this week for Sarah Vaughn of Lenoir City. She probably would have a bunch more, but she is getting the "Barry Bonds" treatment for the last month. She has drawn about a dozen intentional walks, and almost every pitcher has been pitching around her.

    shortstops

Sarah Vaughn from Lenoir City is a complete player. She is hitting over .600 and has a slugging percentage of almost .1200. She also has almost 30 stolen bases. She has tremendous range defensively, a great arm, and best of all she works harder than any player I know. She will only get better.
  18. Keep your eye on Heather Chauncey from Chattanooga Central High School. She is a junior this year, and has hit 5 home runs, and has not had a successful stolen base on her this year. She has spent some time in the weight room over the winter and has added some muscle.
  19. Yes, Hammond is number 11, and bats 3rd for GPS
  20. Two shortstops come to mind and they are both juniors. Sarah Vaughn of Lenoir City is tops in East Tennessee, and in addition to her power numbers at the plate, she has also stolen 12 out of 12 bases. She is a complete player and a great leader. Another great shortstop is Baylor SS Lara Newberry. Lara has great range, and has an incredibly accurate arm. She can also hit with the best of them. Turns the double play like Derek Jeter. Keep your eye on these two. They both should lead their respective teams to Memphis this year.
  21. I haven't seen them all, but of the 30 or so teams I have seen this year, the best centerfielder that I have seen is Lillian Hammond of GPS. Lillian has the perfect combinaton of speed and strength, and can hurt a team with her legs, her bat, her glove, and her arm.
  22. The teams in this district are: Anderson County Kingston Lenoir City Loudon Oliver Springs Scott High School

    District 4AA

Who are the top teams and top players in District 4 AA?
  24. Look for Lenoir City to make it back to Memphis thie year. They have one of the states top prospects in SS Sarah Vaughn.
  25. Hammond has been to "go to" girl on her summer team since she was 10 years old. Believe me, she can handle the pressure...
