What is the selection process for the Challange cup??

It's probably time to stop debating who should have won OW. Gibson did and who can argue that. Kyle James is outstanding as well and of course Bundy had the toughest road. Time to quit fighting over who should've won state or OW and start preparing for Sr Nationals, Cup challange, and Fargo to showcase the wrestling talent Tennesse has.

Rab, I totally agree with you. Yes Gibson is tough, but Kyle looked a lot tougher through out the tournament. I hope Kyle wins high school nationals. That would be just another great accomplishment to add to his long list.

Farragut has won the region title 6 years in a row Farragut has finished top five in state twice in last five years 5th-2000 and 4th 2004 Farragut has had 4 different Head coaches since 1999 Next year Farragut has a returning state champ (Scott Dix) and state runner-up (Justin Knox) as well as returning state qualifiers (Paul Mountain) missed half season knee surgery, Chad Blankenship, and Nick Reveiz. Also starters ChuckLayton Nick Montgomery,and Brandon Lazarus The youth program will provide immediate help in the lower weight classes. Farragut next year has the opportunity to improve on this years 4th place finish.

Read earlier post on this thread and you'll see mention of Gessler defeating Turner at Father Ryan.I'd say your having a bad day on the Turner subject , maybe it's time to move on.

It's time to stop all the complaining and move on. The Union County coach said as much and I think I can speak for Farragut's 171 Knox he's not complaining only training for his next tournament. No matter how well intended Hazlett and Knox supporters are I don't believe either wrestler would care to be a part of this nasty war of words. All the talk doesn't change anything only reflects poorly on those who do so. I personally should have never responded to this thread and added any negative comments about the ref's,that was a mistake. It was a great tournament with a lot of winners and I'm looking forward to next year.

Don't know all the coaches names or correct spelling so I'll just list schools. 1. Bradley Central 2. Soddy Daisy 3. Franklin 4. Science Hill 5. Farragut 6. Union County 7. Kenwood 8. Collierville 9. Brentwood 10. Tie Clarksville. Greenback (beat a lot of larger schools) Some of the aforementioned schools didn't have great team success due to new programs and small numbers but did have outstanding individuals and some didn't have great individual success but good team success.I'm sure there is plenty of room for argument but from my perspective this is how I rank them.

LovinIt, I don't believe any Farragut fans felt Bryant Blackmon or any Bradley fans were in any fashion rude. The booing during the Knox-Blackman match was directed at the ref's not Blackman or Bradley. The match is history now so no point in beating a dead horse. Congrats to Blackman and the Bradley Team for an outstanding season.

Georgia has 32 man bracket and double elimination. They also run the tournament in 2 days.

Your not correct, Blackmon hasn't beat Knox two or three times, once in Freestyle and Knox was a Cadet and Blackmon a Jr. What's that got to do with tonight. As far as slapping a thigh it's hard to touch anything else when the opponent is back tracking. Blackmon only got in off countering Knox's shots. The comments regarding 171 have nothing to do with personal attack on either wrestler as I'm sure each was trying the best they could , however if you are a Bradley fan I'm sure you can find support for his style of wrestling tonight as well as Farragut fans can support Knox's style.This thread started off on bad ref's call's and other than Bradley fans I believe you would be hard pressed to find anyone else that didn't feel the ref should have warned Blackmon for stalling. As I remember that was the loudest booing I'ver heard in recent years at the State Championships and it couldn't be all Farragut fans as they only had about 15-20 fans in attendance. With that said,the match is over Blackmon won,congrats to him. As for wrestling on a bad ankle Knox was out for six weeks with a foot injury and is not near 100%.

They wrestled at the GIT Tournament.I don't remember the exact score ( 14-7) ?Manley basically took Cody down several times . Cody did ride Manley the entire period when was on top, but Manley controlled the match.

Zeits will beat talley if thats an upset.

Region 2 team competition should be very close with at least a few teams having the opportunity to win. As far as individual weight classes are concerned this year almost every weight class has at least two strong candidates to win and some weight classes are three and four deep. This year Region 2 should have more state medalists than the region has ever had and possibily more state champs.

State placer (Same weight wins out over different weight) 4. State qualifier (Same weight wins out over different weight) 5. Record Needless to say, it is usually solved before we get to criteria #5." This is the most common criteria I have seen used at tournaments
