Tnbreakers, I can't imagine a valid reason for calling the coaches that have been called and not calling Coach Gaddis. He may not be interested and who could blame him after the way he was treated last time around but after all he did for you guys not only does he deserve a call the tradition of the program demands it. I hope for your sakes someone will finally put the Kids and the tradition ahead of their own agenda. The names I've seen and heard about that have applied or have a supposed inside track on the job should never be given an interview until Coach Gaddis is called. I don't claim to know the insides and outs of you program but I work with several good folks from O.R. who are very concerned and even doubtful as to the ability of those making the selection to make an intelligent choice, and I have always respected and enjoyed your tradition especially as it applies to some of the great games we have faced each other in. Meadows would have been a great choice very good program builder never stays long enough to stand the test of time but can definitely build a winner. Must be good to have an A.D. that is proactive in trying to find the best fit. Heard he had contacted Coach Rankin and Coach Quarles also. What about Coach Gaddis another great builder, but one that will stay and win long term ? Surely the A.D. has been in contact with him. As a Central Bobcat I certainly remember the epic battles we had with you guys through out the years especially in the 1990's during Coach Gaddis's tenure.I also seem to remember he was the first chioce during the last search for a coach so I assume that he would have been one of the first to be called surely. Ole Dad saw your post about the kicking game at OR this past season. Look forward to playing you guys again next season. We have been in involved in some epic battles with you guys in the past always has been a great rivalry. Work with several folks from OR so I keep up with your program in that way. They seem to be in agreement with you that your punter was very good, but I have heard them complain quite a bit about the rest of your kicking game, coverage, and especially place kicking. If they are correct your place kicker did not hit a field goal this year and missed several extra points bet that has not happened often in OR. Just wondering if you thought your kicking game will be any better next season? Bounder let me make it easy for you the word I get from my OR sources are that you and a few others not only did everything you could to keep the powers that be from hiring this man because of past problems, but you also had a big hand in trying to get him to leave even before he decided to leave on his own.Tnbreakers is absolutely right the most qualified coach was not hired for reasons other than his abilities.Be Careful what you wish for in the future because this time you got it.Central Bobcat

Bounder, I guess you and the majority of folks shoulld be careful what you wish for the next time there is a hire to be made. Apparently he can coach he did a good job against us in the early 90's although we did lay a good beat down on him at your place one night, the score sort of reminded me of the Farragut game this year vs OR, and if I am not mistaken that 90 team that took that beat down went on to beat us in the semi's the next year and win a championship.Don't know why you and the majority would not want a coach like that back but your loss is certainly HC's gain. Reb9,Central Bobcat is always around I have been out of town for a few days but had to get back to watch the recruiting rebs go down.You recieved a gift last week from a mediocre Blunt team which will probably lose tonight to Farragut and next week for sure vs Oak Ridge.We will not be as generous tonight as Blunt was last week.Maybe you can go by Litton's before the game because you will not get much enjoyment during or after the game. Wildman what is going on with the Cats.Saw them against Maryville(scrimmage) they looked good.Has there been a lot of injuries or are they just young.I know Coach Stevens well enough to know that he and his staff will get this fixed and when they do someone is going to be in trouble.I look for them to make a run deep in the playoffs.Central Bobcat

You guys get the turnover problem solved you will probably win another championship if not it will be tough in the playoffs and West might give you a run their QB is the best in this area that I have seen in a while. They are so good because they recruit so well and they play down in a lower classification that they should not be in. I heard they were going to change their name to the Tennessee Rebs since they recruit the whole state so well. Here are some facts you get beat by DB and OR in scrimmages every year. But you did beat a tough middle of the pack William Blount team the other day.You could not beat Bearden, Farragut , or Ooltewah much less the Cats of Oak Ridge or DB and you will lose to the Bobcats this Friday.Stay in your class 4a world even though you have the numbers to be in 5a. You guys have had a good run in 4a do all you can to stay there you are not ready for the big time.Central Bobcat

I think I did predict that Vandy would beat the Vols last year but that was easy. I also heard about the Rebs big game(scrimmage) in Oak Rdige this Summer heard you lost again which I also predicted and since DB drubbed the Cats you guys probably should stay in 4a although I believe you will be moving up next year if my info is correct and it usually always is.I do not dislike the Rebs at all you have to respect that kind of success no matter how it is attained.As far as a wheel tax goes for Blunt County cars a lot of counties could make a living off of just your coaches especially maybe the Halls area of Knox County if you know what I mean and you do. Reb9 Central Bobcat has been taking it all in. I did not expect us to beat Bearden saw them against DB they are the toughest strongest football team in the area. If they had more offense they have would beaten DB.Would certainly give the Rebs all they want. While you guys are a really good team maybe not as good as in past years you are still good but not near as physical as Bearden. We have a good opportunity against you guys this year although we were not over looking Bearden they are for real. You guys are pretenders and will be exsposed this Friday night. We sure are blessed to have someone who knows so little about what goes on with OR football to police this board like dad. He and another wannabe board proctor need to move to Nashville or Bearden because the only inside info they ever have is from those places. I guess that is good for you guys to keep the offensive scientist there. I sure wish we could have gotten him at Central. I know he was offered several jobs and apparently turned them down. I am surprised at the D'Scientist he seems awfully young to quit unless he is going somewhere else. Central Bobcat.

I really don't have a dog in the fight I, but I have always had a great deal of respect for Oak Ridge football. I do work with several folks who are on the inside at O.R. My question would be why has the individual if his stats are so great after being at Oak Ridge why he is not a head coach already? I know he was turned down at Oak Ridge after being there several years. Also did he compile any real impressive stats against opponents that were equal to or better than Oak Ridge. I know he piled up stats against the likes of Clinton,Bearden and teams of that caliber,but what did he do against good teams.Kingsport, or,R'Dale of course he never made it to Championship game, but the Cats did make it the year he left, yes they had good talent but they had a first year QB who evidently had been coached up to his ability, and from what I have have been told the Qb who played this year probably would have been a DB or Receiver at best, it seems that the former regime had a senior in mind for the job, but someone evidently with an eye for talent saw something better. When you see a first year staff make it to the championship game in their first season it is quite impressive. One more thing and I know this to be true because I was at a couple of their games watching a friend of mines son play and the game was way out of hand in Oak Ridge's favor but he still had his starting Offense in the game when they should have been out, and some deserving subs should have been playing. My point is many of his impressive Winged-T stats are from nothing but running up the score on weaker opponents. I agree with you when they went 20 years without a championship they did not have this staff to recruit, and like I said in an earlier post the success of the program probably recruits itself. I don't know who snapper is,but coach Helton is a great coach and I appreciate all he has done for the Bobcats. Again if the changes take place on our staff that I hear are coming you will not like looking forward to next year. The changes do not include replacing our head coach who I would not trade for anyone in this state-ANYONE. Central Bobcat

You are correct that players do come and go,but you must also admit that you have had run of really good players. I think we could say that the success of the program recruits itself. Central Bobcat

We'll show you how to beat them next year if we get the coaches I hope to get in here to run the offense. But I will admit at this point we do not have a clue. We are probably the only team they play that equals or surpasses them in talent and we can't beat them.Hopefully things will change. I am not trying to get anyone fired or cause them trouble but it is obivious that we need more offensive capabilities from a scheme standpoint. Central Bobcat

You guys need to lighten up I used to play golf with the coach even used to caddy for him in my younger days. Believe me he would have enjoyed this type of banter. It is just football played by high school kids I hope they have more fun than you guys do.
