I can't wait for this year's jamboree. It is always a great event that is very well attented. I graduated last year and it's going to feel weird not playing, but I am very interested in how the local teams look and will continue to follow Chattanooga area football after I go to college.

Whitwell did lose 13 seniors, but return a good group of skill players. The line is small, but has been improving. It's really to early to tell how good this team will be, but a 6-4 record and a 4th straight trip to the playoffs are reachable goals for this squad.

Whitwell also lost their whole kicking game (1st team P-Eric Fine and 2nd team K-Jonathan Higdon). Unless something changes special teams , which has been a strength the past 3 years, will be a weak point for the Tigers. They should finish no worse than 6-4, making a 4th straight trip to the playoffs.

This Chris Burr guy obviously has no clue what he's talkin about. He also picked Lookout Valley ahead of Copper Basin and Whitwell. As for this region, Tyner has way too much speed. Size won't be an issue for the Rams until the playoffs.

I have heard that Cody Walker, Ben Allen, and one other Pirate have been declared academically ineligible. Does anyone have any details on this? If its true this will put a lock on the Region title for Boyd.

Marion County and South Pittsburg is by far the best rivalry in Tennessee. These 2 teams were flat out dominant in the 90's (not sure how many state titles Marion had but SP had one). These two teams don't get along on or off the field.

I know that Jordan Cain of Sequatchie County was the East Defensive MVP. How did the rest of the players from Chattanooga fare?

Take away a key baserunning mistake and it would've been a whole new ballgame, but you gotta roll with it and win the next one.

Marion County and East Ridge will have no trouble winning their 1st round games.

CCS run-ruled Whitwell twice during the regular season, but something's tellin me the Tigers could pull this one out, because 2 of the past 3 years they have stepped it up this time of year. Also, I heard that CCS is having some injury trouble. I have heard that Elias Yandell © and Seth Blevins (P) are both out and Braden Scott (P-1B) is just playing defense. Is there any truth to this and if so are there any more injuries.

Everybody in this district is playing for 2nd. Nobody in 5-AA will beat Walker Valley. McMinn Central is almost as sure a bet for 2nd as WV is for 1st.

What about Higdon for Ooltewah? They've been talking about him all year.

Soddy-Daisy has too much offensive power for Brainerd. The Trojans will have no trouble in this one. Soddy-Daisy pitching staff isn't great but they are underrated.

Grace Academy won 4-3 in a game completed yesterday to claim a share of the District 5 regular season title. This was Boyd's 1st district loss in 4 years. Huge Upset!!

Central, Red Bank, Ooltewah, and Soddy are all equally capable of winning this tournament. It should be a good one.

Congratulations to Grundy on winning the top seed, but now all that matters is to who wins the tournament. Hats off to Woodlee on a dominant pitching performance. 18 k's and 4 walks (1 intentional) looks real good against squad like Marion.
