  2. This is Lain. What is making ya'll come back to Tennessee? Have a safe trip and maybe c-ya Fri.
  3. How is everything going in florida Justin? I thought about you all earlier today when the titans were on. We had some good times back in the day. Maybe I'll c-ya Friday.
  4. After beating the 2nd best team in the region and sitting pretty to take the region title......how do those of you who have seen the panthers in action feel about their play in the playoffs this year? Seems to me that they don't have the "kill" instinct as years past but seem to somehow find a way to win week after week. I have yet to be able to go see my alma mater play but it just doesn't seem like the Panthers I am used to keeping up with. Replies from fans and foes with honest opinions appreciated. Good luck the rest of the year and keep up the hard work!
  5. If anyone happened to not travel to the game and listens on radio; I and many others would appreciate any score updates during the game. Thanks.
  6. I think Lewis Co. will win only if they play their type of ballgame. Turnovers could be costly for either team in this one. As far as the trash talking goes....Lewis has the region championship to hold as their own until someone takes it from them. Should be a good one. Go Panthers!
  7. Just looking for any info on the game tonight. Score looked good. Keep up the work panthers!
  8. Sounds like the rebels are looking good. I wouldn't mind getting yet another shot at them again this year. Maybe this time with my lewis co. panthers on top. Can't wait to see them in person against huntingdon. Good luck the rest of the year.
  9. Don, What do you think the odds are of me being able to get some copies of past games? I would be willing to send blank tapes or cash for some of the games.
  10. Maybe you need to go back and check last year's playoffs then......if I recall our region held up pretty well compared to others overall.
  11. Don what would you say about running back and reciever? The few years I have been around to watch I would say rainey/hankins but the linebacker would be a toss up. I was always impressed with patterson's motor and heart. I have heard tenison was a hoss back in the day. Any thoughts? Oh yeah if there was to be a program made of facts stats and pics........you would be famous! Thanks for the info.
  12. Thanks for the clarification blaster. I always am excited about new opportunities for high school kids......especially football. I am eagerly waiting to see how perry co. will do in the next few years......I have always known there are plenty of athletes in that county. Good luck the rest of the season.
  13. My good buddy imaviking........never fails that you get on here only to bite at people through a computer. I was not ata all dissing your new program. If you will read my previous post you will see that i am excited perry co. has started a new football program. I just think it is a little too early to be getting together a "legacy" team that can only be made up of 5 years or so worth of players. Concerning Lewis Co......All would agree on this website that if you were going to comprise a "legacy" team you could definitely make one out of a program that has won multiple region championships and had multiple wins in the playoffs. Always amazes me to see how people act on here......quick to offend and slow to shut up.
  14. This is a joke of a thread. Perry Co. can't even count the year they went "6-4" since all they had was a group of guys who played jv squads. I am not dogging their program because i am excited anytime a school gets a program started; especially in football. Just might ought to wait till you get some legacy teams in there before you get some legacy player list. Good luck in the rest of your season.
  15. how is curtis cagle doing?.....i hear he transferred there from lewis co. I know him personally but haven't talked in a while.......the kid has talent if led in the right direction.
  16. Those that were there......how does the matchup this fri look with westmoreland and lewis co?
  17. I have seen some chatter on here about my hometown team but not much that gives me any info i don't already know. How about someone who knows what is going on and who has a respectable opinion fill those of us in who are no longer in hohenwald. Any stats from last week's game and thoughts on the best game this season on the schedule? Also any word on college choices for Dave? Good luck guys and keep playing that smash mouth type of football i loved watching! Haven't heard much from Don or fellow cuz lbblitz. Fill us in guys!
  18. 926........any hear on where Dave might play college at? I have heard he had a visit to Nebraska but not a very credible source? Any info would be great!
  19. I have heard that Crockett Co's kicker is pretty good. Made some all state teams last year as a sophmore.
  20. to be honest a little of both. I have some good friends who are big soccer players at Freed Hardeman and one of them is from Greece. He got me into the whole European soccer thing not to mention was the leading scorer in the nation in NAIA. But yeah I am growing into a soccer fan as well as liking the logo.
  21. LOL.....that was a good one OnlineLC. That has had me laughing everytime I see it.
  22. I think most teams schedule based on the drive, cost of travel, and other teams willingness to play each other. I am not in a position to say why some teams schedule weaker opponents and why some schedule tougher ones. What I DO feel is wrong would be a split. Why doesn't Georgia Tech still play Cumberland you ask....well if I had to guess I would say due to the money issue mostly. Knowing college athletics it seems that is the main reason they figure into scheduling NON-CONFRENCE opponents. Wait did I just say conference? Yeah I did...like I said we should have regulations on conferences like we already have. Why doesn't Lewis County play Goodpasture....or Riverdale for that matter? I think in both areas we have problems where teams schedule opponents that they feel they can compete with and be successful even if they don't win. I think like most who want the public/private split you have a problem with privates that I don't understand. And that is fine. We are all subject to our opinions and there will prolly be a split reguardless of what I think. But what I fear the most is putting sports into a political arena where all that is looked at is who is champion at the end. Sports is so much more than winning. I enjoy seeing all opinions and this will be my last post in this debate. I just hope and pray that we who no longer can actually get on the fields or courts and compete think about the kids and why they play the game to begin with.
  23. Stan, As long as football has been around it has always been about playing other football teams. Not classifying them into groups and then playing. Yes we have different levels based on size and location but I feel we should never split based soley on public/private. We lose the competiveness between teams and athletes when we say...."ok this team is a private team so you public schools can't compete at their level so you have to schedule teams that are more torwards your talent level". I don't know about anyone else but that would hurt my pride saying I am not good enough to be on the same field and compete against another school. Let's keep things in perspective and let the teams play to see who is better. Like I said; just because a team has the higher score at the end of of the game doens't necessarily mean they have achieved more than the team who lost; score wise.
  24. This is my first post in this public/private debate and I have been with Coacht since 01. I feel that there should not be a split based on private success alone. What about the times when the private schools just got started? Did we hear them yell split split? No matter what it is the kids who play the games. Very rarely do I run into a team that would not want to go compete against a team who they might know were out-talented because of the circumstances. I would hate to see a split just for the reason that I would hate to think my alma mater couldn't compete with a private school so therefore we have to split. I totally back private schools and why they exist. Most of the people on here debating are adults who have been out of high school sports playing wise for some years and I don't see why we just can't strap the helmets on or lace the shoes up and play. Is it all about who wins the title or about what we learn about life? Nobody is gonna care who won the 2003 Blue Cross bowl thirty years from now. What is gonna matter is the ones who love the game for what it is and pass that on as a hope of maybe learning something about life and friendships. It won't ever happen but I think it is time to stop the bickering about why such and such school won this year and who recruits and just play the game. Seems like we got our priorities out of hand a long time ago when we focused soley on who won the big one. Last I checked one team stands at the end and who cares if it is a public or private school. What I care about is if the players at the end of the year feel they accomplished something they didn't think they could.......and are better men and women beacause of it.
  25. Boy I love this talk before season! Nothing like some locker room material. I am not going to say any predicitions beacause I never would have thought Mckenzie would have made it that far last season after losing what they did in 01. What does it matter now who should have won what games? Big plays were made or not made and that is the difference in any game. I expect a good season from 2a this year. I am looking forward to seeing what ol' Bobby Sharp has in store this year. I am as confident as ever we will contend for the region and be in the same spot hopefully with a different result this season.
