  1. Jeff-had to go back and look at the picture to see what you were looking at. Naw, that only looks like an outhouse. That is the visitors bleacher. (Just kidding too.)
  2. Bring your quarters if you want an actual indoor one, you KNOW we are trying to save money for REAL bleachers.
  3. This may be a crazy idea, but here is a link to an aerial map to give you a visual picture of our field (even though Bobcat logo does not show up) at the center of this picture. Between the softball field (bottom of the map) and the middle school buildings you will see the oblong football field. Looking at the picture, the area to the left of the field that looks streaked with white is the parking area inside the gates of the visitor side. The point I'm trying to make is that that area is not very big anyway. The area behind the softball outfield and the big parking lot in front of the high school are good close parking areas. Generally there is no other off-limit parking except for right next to the fieldhouse, which is where the concession stands are and ambulance usually sits. We, in no way, are trying to discourage any Cavalier fans by our "reserved" rules. We just have people that have had the same seats for years and it wasn't fair to take those away for the playoffs. They still have to pay the TSSAA entrance price, but they can hold onto their reserved seats. Sorry, guys, we're not trying to be difficult. This is the best I can do to help explain our layout. http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?email...xAhlA%253d%253d
  4. GBT57 and Volfan911, This post had dropped to the bottom of page 3 and I could have just not replied to your response, but I realize I was wrong and I humbly apologize for the wording I chose earlier today. It was just an attitude that came over me after I was reading the boards and I got into a defensive mode. I had been reading threads (by a couple of zealous Crockett fans) referring to the presumed "overrating" of Crockett and was reading the picks for state championships and it appears that several people are already assuming Crockett will win it (which they very well may,) and that struck me wrong. It appears that nobody is even considering Greenbrier is capable of winning against Crockett and (as Crockett probably knows), after years of no respect, its tough when your team goes out and wins the region, does all these great things, and still doesn't even get a nod. I guess I was doing what I was complaining about. I hope you'll both accept my apology. I have edited my previous post.
  5. Davidson1 - yes I guess I am at that. I only know that the football game is always in the back of my mind and on Friday, I count the hours til time to get there. On really cold game nights you could catch me with two (sometimes three) layers of shirts...all of em' say Greenbrier Football. I get to the stadium with my Greenbrier seat and blanket and the only time I leave my reserved seat is to cheer. This one is going to be a great game! Hope you all get out to see it.
  6. 5:30 - 6:00 should be a decent time. The parking around the field is fenced on the visitors side, but there is a large field behind the softball field, near the batting cages that is usually pretty open for tailgating. Greenbrier's tailgate party is held across from the field and is at someone's house I don't know if it's open to everyone. Been invited but don't go because I want to warm up my seat and watch the team warm-up.
  7. JSHanes - sorry if you took that as we don't want Crockett fans to come. Everyone is welcome. The county is the one who is responsible for the athletic program funds. Like Coachhard said, the bleachers have been there since the school was built. So far we have been able to hold every crowd that's come and if we can hold White House and Springfield (our biggest gates), I'm sure we can hold Crockett. I mean it's not like they are condemed, or anything. Maybe Crockett doesn't have reserved seats on their home side, but when I say reserved seating, I mean as in prepaid season tickets. Everyone that has a reserved seats knows usually has had them for years and knows who is and is not supposed to be sitting in those seats and a season pass has to be shown if questioned.
  8. I see more than one thread from somebody from Crockett asking "do you think we're overrated?" "Do you STILL think we're overrated?" Reminds me of the cell phone commercial repeating "can you hear me now? --- well, how bout NOW? --- How bout NOW?" incessantly. YES, Crockett County, we hear you. We know you are good. We know you are 12-0. We respect what you've done up to this point. BUT, Greenbrier is good too. This will be a hard fought game for both sides, but I'll have to go with the Bobcats.
  9. To all our cohorts in region 5 3a, Sycamore, Page and Marshall County, and anyone else interested, come join us in Greenbrier as we go up against Crockett County in the quarter-finals. The place will be packed but as the saying goes: the more the merrier.
  10. Just a note regarding the seating for Greenbrier and Crockett County fans. Sometimes in packed crowds, the visting team ends up on Greenbriers side to be able to find a place to sit. For people that aren't familiar with seating, just a reminder that the center area of the home side (dull gold colored NUMBERED aluminum seats) are for season pass holders and are reserved. As for bringing in aluminum seats, even if it is possible to bring in the aluminum seats from the baseball fields, the ground beside the stationary visitors bleachers is not level and may pose an even bigger threat of a tipover or someone losing their footing.
  11. Whoaa. In the Nashville traffic between 4-5 on a Friday, especially going north, is the first mistake. If you can leave a little earlier to get here even an hour earlier, it will save your sanity. When you get to Nashville, you will need to begin looking for I-65 North toward Louisville. You will follow I65 north until you get to Exit 98 (Millersville/Goodlettsville) exit. At the bottom of the ramp, turn left and go back underneath the interstate bridge. Get into your far right lane, and about 1/10 of a mile later you will see a ramp that bears right (sorry but I don't even remember if it says "Ridgetop" or "Springfield" but I THINK it says Ridgetop.) Anyway, that ramp will dump you onto Hwy 41. Follow that north and within minutes you will go up a steep ridge and you will see Ridgetop (a local speedtrap, so 40mph will keep you legal). About four more miles you will roll into Greenbrier. You can't miss the middle school on your left, and the football field is behind the middle school between G.M.S and G.H.S., which is not visible from the highway. Parking is available around the schools. Just a warning: don't build up your expectations, our town is small and our school is small. The good thing is our town is great and the fans here love their football. Anyone that wants restaurant food, we have a Sonic, Subway, Blast from the Past (50's restaurant) and a couple of few other small places (family diner, mexican, and chinese) For more food options, you can try Exit 96 (Rivergate Pkwy). Some of our fans may stop by your tailgate party, but there is usually one of our own across from the field. From what I read on the other boards, looks like other Region 5 teams will be coming to watch. It should be a great game.
  12. Well, even though I am new here, I am not new to Greenbrier and their great football community and program. Since I am not a coach, I would be sure to leave someone out if I started naming our players, but I will try to tell you the ones that come to mind. Of course, Roger Herndon is THE man. Not only does his ability make him great, but also his teammates, Jacob Aldridge, Hunter Norton, Barrett Brown, Nick Brown, Perry Osborne, Dustin Cole, Chris Tucker, Cameron Arms, Kyle Herndon (Roge's bro), Trevor Dickerson, Joey Stephens and our own, RussellMANIA, Clint Russell along with EVERY guy on the team that plays and supports their teammates. Many of these boys have played together since Jr. Pro's. (by the way, hooray for Greenbrier's Jr. Pro's that swept EVERY ONE of their opponents this season in ALL age categories...). Someone else can give you more stats. I am just a fan, but I know that our Greenbrier team is great. They may not be 12-0, but they will be an opponent that Crockett County won't forget.
