When did you play David Crockett? Putting on stuff like this makes you look bad. Johnson County beat you. I guess when a team fumbles a lot against you it is because you all are so great. Saying you could beat South and TN High makes it seem you are on the moonshine. You probably think you could beat Mo West, Maryville, DB and Alcoa. You would have a hard time scoring on them. Be happy with what you have got a good 1a football team. Try and win the 1a state but do not start on the bigger teams because believe me you do not stand a chance against them.

I would not put 100% stock in what Fritz writes. Dave Rider has been retired for 7 years I am sure he would not want to go through the stress of being a head coach again. Fritz has to have Elizabethton or someone related to Elizabethton mentioned in everyone of his stories.

I have no dog in this race. The bottom line is how many State Title's has Maryville won and how many has West won. Maryville has lost as many title games as West has played in. So until you have a Gold Ball in the Trophey case you are like the rest of the football teams on I81 and eastward a big fish in a little pond.

I hear Helton from Knox Central , Quarrels from Maryville and somebody from the Nashville area are who they are going after. I hear they will offer real good money to the coach and maybe let him bring in some assistants.

I have not seen much of 1a football but why do you guys think that the winner of this game will be the favorite to win the state. No team from NE TN has ever won the state and usually a team from the Central time zone wins 1a. Not trying to get everyone up in the air but I am just wondering why this year might be different.

They should let region 1 play region 3 and 2 play 4, 5 play 7 and 6 play 8. I am from Region1 and if they do that then maybe one or two teams from this region would make it to the second round. A lot of the times the championship game is really in the quarterfinals.

I think that would be impossible to have six wideouts. You have 5 lineman , a QB, then 5 wideouts. Mo West will win by atleast 40.

I heard East plays at home and West will play at Carson Newman.

EHS came out with no fire and Johnson County ran it down their throat the first drive. Johnson County was the better team. Some of EHS players decided not to show up just like the fans. EHS has lost their fan base and this is the worst year in football history. The players acted like they wanted the season over. For all you EHS people that say they should play 3a well they were 1-3 against 3a teams this season. Beat North lost to Greeneville, Unicoi and Johnson County. Unless Pless resigns he will be the coach next year. Why would Rider want the job? The team he has is a lot better than EHS plus he probably does not have parents driving him crazy wanting their son in the game all the time. I still say EHS should give $10 off season ticket holders next year if they renew their tickets because they stole money from people this year. 2006 football season just a total disgrace. One more blast the field was awful because soccer has been using the field. They will not let the youth club use the field and make them play on the practice field even though they are your future players. Why can't soccer play somewhere else? They could put bleachers on the track and play there or I am sure they could find someplace to play. Nothing against the soccer program because they represent the school better the the football team but a football field is a football field. Does anyone who over sees EHS athletics have a clue? Keep turning your head and you will keep seeing under .500 records and half filled stands.

I have been saying most of the same things for the past 2 or 3 years. Finally everything has came to a head at EHS. It has been slowly building and now it has happened. Some players and some coaches get by with whatever and noone has enough guts to say anything. I feel sorry for the kids because you are only 17 playing highschool football once. I wouldn't know the AD if he walked in right now but he needs to clean house and if he will not then he needs to go also. The only way the sports program will get any better is to start over. Stevie Wonder can see what the problems are so surely Payne can see and if not I can be his seeing eye dog. (No jokes please) I know some on here will be done at season's end and I will miss arguing and agreeing with them but I think we are finally on the same side and 3 years ago I was in Seattle and you'll where in Boston and now we are in Iowa.

When was the last time EHS beat a team west of Morristown/Newport? Does anyone know what their record is against teams from that part of the state the past 30 or 40 years? I was just wondering.

The last time EHS beat DB was 1988. That was long before the so called talent boom in the middle to late 90's. I know EHS was bad in 89,90 and 91 but they were never this bad and back then they would compete but now some not all but some just go through the motions.

To slipstream1 Pless did not follow a legend and I guess you have not been to any of EHS games so your post should be in fantasy land. I think if EHS does not make the playoffs and with the talent and conference they are in they should make the playoffs easy. The athletic department should let season ticket holders have their tickets next year for $10 less.

I am going to Woodridge in the morning because I am picking EHS 13-6. I think EHS has made the playoffs every year since 92.

He has no help and that is one of his biggest problems.

Why do I keep going to the games? The first half EHS kept goofing up but South did also. EHS finally showed some emotion when Smith got knocked through the fence ( that was weird looking half of him on the grass and the other half on the track but he was alright and can laugh and have a good story to tell his kids and grandkids someday) and they scored and were yelling and the sidelines. When South scored before half that was big at the time. The second half not all but over half of the people on the sidelines quit. They decided not to compete. That is all I will say. The school system owes me $5 from the Greeneville game and $2.50 from the South game. They are stealing people's money because we come to see a football game and usually only one team tries so that is deceiving the public. If you get beat you get beat but atleast give an effort and when some kids stop bench them. If some of the adults do not want to be on the sidelines quit also because you are stealing from the kids. That new offense is really something I think they average 9 points a game.

What I erased I really do believe will happen. I have no horse in the race and I am just going by what I am hearing. I am not talking about you GLee but I am not a parent complaining because my little Billy set the bench and I am not a fan/parent that goes after the coaches after a loss. I can seperate business and personnal stuff. I know some of the coaches and if I saw them needing help or come to me wanting help I would do all I could. A lot of the people that so call support EHS would not. They would complain right now if EHS was 6-0 because they do not like who is playing.

I thought Pless was going to get the AD job just like I thought Dugger was going to be basketball coach. EHS athletic department needs to put "Glory Days" on in their cd player. Because they have passed them by like a wink from a young girls eye. Witten as coach I do not think so. If people want to relive the past then go get some 8tracks and listen to them. Scott Rider would be a better choice. I think they should go away from the area and find a coach and hope he does not listen to the parents and play people because of their name.

I have no idea why you put your second team offense in with 9 minutes left in the game when they have been setting the first 39 minutes. Put him into the game in the 2nd quarter if you are going to play him. It is not fair to the backup qb to be in that situation. People around me where saying the same thing. If the coach is kissing up to the parents then they can kiss each other when the season is over and EHS has no head coach. I have no clue what to say. There is no reason why EHS got beat. They should have won the game by atleast 20. I give up. I have said things for the last few years about their problems but people told me I was crazy but now I know I am right. I should have gotten the AD job because I do not think the AD now cares or will do anything because he is another yes man. EHS has sorry fans the second half I bet 30 to 40% of the fans where gone. A close game but do not stick around. They saw the band and got to gossip with this person and then they left they did not know a game was going on.

Volunteer is pretty bad. If EHS wants him they are just hiring his last name. He might be a good coach but he has no results in TN. If I was him I would not come. EHS should finally have an easy game tonight. If not then I will be speechless.
