From the comments already said there are two really tough districts 7AA and the Martin westview, Gibson and Obion co one. Isn't this fun!!

I was @ the first game. OS little crackerbox was hopping. Great game even if the refereeing was alittle onesided esp. at the end. It WILL be different this time. LA 68 OS 49

HOLD ON GUYS!! Cumberland Co. Jets are flying high(pun intended). We have only lost @ Bradley. We just beat Jujuan's McMinn Co. team the other day. I think you goofed on us.

JuJuan is a very good player. But as Rayban said, he can be neutralized. I heard that JuJuan was being recruited by several SEC schools. Does anybody out there know who is looking at him and which way he may be leaning?

Yes Coach Winningham at York knows his stuff. I saw them play in Crossville and his boys play hard. They are not the most talented players, but the sum of the parts is more than them as individuals anyhow.

Hope this LA and OS game gets to be played. Heres to hoping and watching Tues. GO LA!

First of all- The game looks like it might be good.... but only if we both get to the game by winning ours. I certainly do hope to watch that one Tuesday night. Hixson is one of the worst teams I have ever seen in my many years. Second, I think we all are losing sight of the game- Laura Hall just went over 2,000 points for her career and her name has barely been mentioned. Do they ask if she shoots too much? Great players like Beechboard and Hall are expected to create like they have now for 4 years. Third, OS is finding its feet. EVERYBODY knows will create and get shots. The key is everybody else. At OS some of their role players stepped up. This time I don't think they will. Their won/loss record is showing this difficulty. Fourth, IT IS ALL ABOUT TEAM. LA has a better team top to bottom. I think LA is secretly hoping for a rematch. I think we have a little unfinished business with OS. Fifth, if you enjoy great basketball, YOU NEED TO BE @ LA TUES. night. C ya there!! Tnwareagle- No the refereeing was not very good. Did they cost us the game? Probably not. Anyhow, it would really be alot of fun to play the game with fair referees that do NOT allow players to control the game. You mentioned we cheered when Pugh went down out of bounds. We were not cheering thinking he was deserving of that foul. NO!! It was a very smart foul by CCHS putting him on the line. He missed one anyway. In the first qtr. we were down one point when the refereeing was decent. My brother is a college ref. I know the rulebook! Under no circumstances do you allow HS or college kids to make fun of you. You have to be above reproach. These refs appeared to relish getting into the middle of the action. They are supposed to be impartial. These refs were not. This is bigtime inexcusable!!!

That is what makes this post fun. Everyone gets to talk about their person. Now let's see. Nomar, says wait two years till they are seniors. HELLOOOOO! This posting is not about two years from now. It is about the here and now. No way can Brandi outplay Beech now. It is about who is the best player NOW. We will continue watching.

The way the Bearettes played tonight at home against Cumberland Co. they are going to be REALLY tough to beat at home at least this year. They put it to us with that in your face physical intimidating defense that sometimes becomes a little too physical. But hey, if the refs allow it do it.

HEY!! If LA plays like they did tonight, everybody else better be ready to play. Many people think we will fall apart without Beechboard, but oooooooo.... we have some surprises for you. This team needs Beechboard, but is not doomed without her like some have said. Great job tonight Thurman, Baltimore, Thompson, and all the rest of LA. Let them think we are a one girl team. They will realize BIG MISTAKE!!!!! H-O-G-E-Y-E, Hogeye, Hogeye, T-N-T!!

Everybody's wrong!! It has got to be Bradley Central at home. Played there tonight. Their crowd intimidates the referees themselves. Tonight alone I saw a player slam the ball down in front of the very sorry refs and the refs didn't even look at the player. Much less give a technical. It is always the same at Bradley. Attitude, attitude, attitude. They get away with more holding and shoving in Bradley than any place in the state. If anybody has played there you know what I mean. DISGUSTING!!

I knew this would be a great game. Even though LA got beat by one, it will be a growing game for the Cats. They are now beginning to find out that you can't always play the way you want to always play. You have to take what the other is allowing you to play. The Cats sometimes look to push even when it isn't there. Must have been a good one!!

Lest we forget- Cumberland County has already beaten both of these two teams. White Co. last night by 5 and Cookeville by 3. YES it will be a great game. They are two very evenly matched teams. It will come down to three things: 1. Matchups 2. Free Throw shooting 3. Home court advantage White Co. at home by 3 Wish I could go to it. IT WILL BE GREAT!!

Feel confident that Coach Smith will get LA ack to making their FTs. This was a quality team that LA beat tonight. BTW- it was their first loss of the year!! It's all about W's anyway. I would rather have an ugly win than a pretty loss any Day!!

Should be on the girls! Anyway, Beech can play at all 5 positions. She can create everywhere, but might be a tweener? Don't think SO!! She is going to be a great at UTC.

White Co. girls tonight played a good game against Cumberland Co. in Crossville. Don't know any numbers but know White Co. was in control most of the time. The Lady Jets played the cat and mouse game with Sparta eventually winning by about 6 or 8. Lady Jets played much better now that all of our sick and injured girls are coming back. Lady Jets showed signs of getting it back together. White Co. will play you really hard for the whole game as will the Lady Jets. Good game!! Lady Jets have to go now to Bradley this Friday! Go Jets and Lady Jets!!

Getting back to our posting.... Livingston gave Cookeville girls their first loss of the year tonght. Don't know the particulars. All I know is LA won by 8 in DOUBLE OVERTIME tonight. Wish I could have been there. Sounded great!! Go Hogeye!!

BUT, CCHS won the game 71 to 66 after it was all said and done. CCHS was led by Danny Cumby with 20. Danny was 11 for 12 at the line. Rodney Howard had 16. I might add he played his best game yet! Rodney had 9 rebounds also. Logan Smith and Cody Christopher had 13 each. It was obvious CCHS was scouted. They knew who to try to take away. NO I'M NOT GOING TO TELL WHO THAT IS! COME WATCH FRIDAY AT BRADLEY!! White County was led by very good Seth England with 24 points. White Co. hit I believe four straight threes at the end of the game. THEY just wouldn't go away! Fan16- Those are nice words about Cates. I saw him play in grade school against a Crossville team. You knew he was going to be special. I am especially proud to scare everyone by saying he may be better at FB than BB. Best of all, Wilson Cates is ONLY a sophomore.

They're Sparta! Need I remind you that we haven't won many games against them in the past decade? Remember when they won those state championships? We didn't beat them for about 5 straight years back then. Sparta would rather beat us than just about anybody!!
