  1. No, you weren't. I'm pretty sure you didn't do jack against him.
  2. I've seen Baucom play in about three games and Regan in four. I would say Regan is definitely more talented than Baucom but it seems like Regan tries to do too much (coming out for too many ground balls, jumping out of crease too early). I have yet to see Rainer play so I have no idea about him. Baucom may be more consistent but I would say at the top of their games, Regan is the better goalie.
  3. If you want to point out skills like Kirklands reaction time to being better than all, how about Waldrop's zero earned runs given up this year? Yes, there are a couple pitchers who throw harder than Waldrop but Price from Blackman is the only pitcher in the state in the same league as Waldrop. Others may have as good offspeed, I don't really know. But none have both like Waldrop. You could point out that many hit better than Kirkland. I still go with Waldrop as the best all-around.
  4. Are you saying you predict CBHS to avenge their early season loss to Farragut?
  5. Waldrop is the best all-around player in east Tennessee. He can do it all with pitching, fielding, hitting, and baserunning. I would put Kirkland next because he is the best at his position out of all. I would then go with Spencer for he is another great all-around player. Iorg would be next with great hitting and fielding skills not to mention a great arm. I would then go with Eldridge since he is the hardest out in the state. I would finish off with Carver, than McGahey, Hall, Herbold, than Reagan.
  6. I would go with Price first for being a lefty in the late first or early second. Kirkland or Waldrop will be next depending on team needs. I'd say somewhere in the second round. Iorg will probably be between the 4-8 round.
  7. Farragut came out firing after their dissappointing perfomance in their first game against Ryan. It was 4-3 after one, 9-4 at half, 13-6 after three, and finished at 17-7. Franklin/Centennial is a very talented team with some great speed in the midfield. Their only downfall was not being able to hit cage and possessing the ball. Farragut played their best game of the year and hustled after all ground balls. Good game on both parts and good luck to Centennial in their playoffs.
  8. Farragut came out flat and went down 3-0 to Ryan. They ended up fighting back and putting the game away in the second half.
  9. McCallie scored 3 goals in the first off clearing mistakes which resulted in one on ones with the goalie. They had 2 in the second which one was an open netter.
  10. Farragut does own the state record for wins in a season with 48.
  11. If Sawyer was better than Brakebill(which he isn't), why is he not on any all-state or going to any big time schools?
  12. McCallie won 11-4. Farragut made some mental mistakes early which led to 3 or 4 goals by empty net or one on one with the goalie. McCallie's speed and pressure were superior to Farragut's and the better team won. Good game McCallie.
  13. Clint Brakebill is the best middie in state. There is not competition near him. After that, there are about 5 or 6 that could vye for the next spot.
  14. Farragut travels to McCallie for a division game Friday night. What are your thoughts on the game?
  15. I'd put it as a toss up between Price and Waldrop.
  16. Congrats to Maryville baseball. They didn't receive the slaughter rule. This has already made their season a success.
  17. Farragut won 3-0. Kyle pitched a two hitter. Farragut had 4 or 5 errors which gave up alot of baserunners but Kyle was able to pitch out of them. Harrison Eldridge opened up with a solo homer and Farragut scored the other two off hits and Maryvillle errors later in the game.
  18. Pope John Paul is probably the weakest of the startup teams. Give them some time and they'll get better. By the way, where is Pope John Paul?
  19. Bryan Hill #21 on Farragut is probably in the top 3 in state.
  20. Shouldn't we change this thread to "Who is the 2nd best coached team in the state?"
  21. If laxpower rankings mattered, Cordova would not be third in the state, Ravenwood would not be ahead of Farragut, and McCallie would not be sixth.
  22. I call it how I see it...and I watch game film.
  23. I think UT may be losing Gray Fuller, one of their top middies. He is listed as a junior but I believe he is graduating. This is what someone on the team told me so correct me if I'm wrong. UT will be a great team if they all stay together next year.
  24. I would say Waldrop is a step above Spencer. Waldrop is a better pitcher by record and his 0.00 era against much better competition than Spencer. Waldrop also finished with a microscopic sub-1 era last year and an undefeated record. At the plate, Waldrop does not get as many good pitches as you would think. It's more surprising to see him pitched to than to see him walked. He doesn't have as many home runs because he doesn't ever look to swing for the fences. Most to all his homeruns are line drives that never get ten feet above the fence. I have no idea who has the better fielding and as for the all-state selection edge to Spencer, not to take anything away, but it is alot harder to get all-state when you're an underclassmen shadowed by great players at Farragut then it is to get it at Morristown West. Waldrop also doesn't have as many K's as Spencer because he is a placement pitcher. You can't say John Rocker was better than Greg Maddux because he struck out more. I believe Waldrop is a cut above than Spencer. Spencer is still one of the top 5 in state though.
