  1. No disrespect to Coach Stevens, but the committee did in deed send Gaddis' name to the principal and three times.
  2. It's not about Stevens. It's about the way our administration handled the situation!
  3. Brother.....update.....the committee submitted their choice 3 times! Wh
  4. Mrs. Lussier has not already accepted another position in another state and traveling to that state to perform the new job duties while she tries to perform her Willowbrook duties on a scaled down part-time basis as Mr. Green is doing with his ORHS job. BIG difference!! Mrs. Lussier is a well loved long time educator in the city of Oak Ridge. BIG difference!! Mrs. Lussier raised her children in the Oak Ridge school system. Mr. Green's wife home schools their children. BIG difference!! Mr. Green rarely attended football games! We all know and love Mrs. Lussier and Ken Green is NO BOBBI LUSSIER!!
  5. Central Bobcat, thank you for the compliment. Last word on this ridiculous subject: The Oak Ridge Wildcats (2004 Region 2-5A Champions) are hosting the Farragut Admirals Friday at Blankenship Field. Everyone welcome-fans and critics alike-to support this group of young men who have been working "together" since their winter workouts to meet each goal they (and their coaches) have set for themselves. Should be a great night of football between two long time rivals. Weather is supposed to be cool. The "Ship' should be rockin'....don't miss the excitement!
  6. There is not disharmony in the Atomic City! If you will notice there are only 2 idiots on here. And I don't use the term "idiot" loosely....only an idiot would start a thread using the word "underachievers" in the first round of the playoffs! Who knows if rayray is really an OR fan or someone trying to stir something up to get things off track! Not to worry the mighty Wildcat Express is on track and will roll Friday night at the "Ship"!! And the Wildcat Nation is solid behind this team of GREAT kids and coaches!! Roll Wildcats Roll!!
  7. as a matter of fact, rayray, you should cancel your coacht membership today. you are a disgrace to the team and community.
  8. Classy post! Best of luck to you! Great fans and football team. And, yes, Spencer is the man.
  9. Sorry to burst your bubble but no money has to be refunded because no tickets have been sold to a game we may or may not host. You're wrong about that one. As far as scheduling buses, of course it would be better to be at home, but if we are on the road we will gladly schedule those buses and be happy to keep scheduling them cause as long as we are scheduling buses that means we are still winning!
  10. I, for one, am proud to have my school mentioned when the top programs come to someone's mind. We must be doing something right!
  11. #64, Way to go! Stay grounded that way, take care of business and the season will take care of itself. Roll Wildcats in '04!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Intermission, I'm sorry, but what game were you attending? OR's crowd WAS into the game! What's with the band taking the entire 3rd quarter off? In the future, it would be nice to have the band's participation at this stage in the game. And, yes, DB's band is awesome! They demand your attention when they break into the FSU song. Tell me, has the OR band thought about trying out Rocky Top? You never know, it might be a hit.
  13. REBELRON, Wouldn't you just love to see some of these posters work out in the weight room all winter, go through spring practice, summer and 2 a days and then bust their butts every weekday afternoon and leave it all on a football field on Friday nights to only have a select few trash them and the school they represent? Would kind of make life sweet, huh?
  14. Amen! It's almost too hard to wait from that last ballgame in November (or hopefully December!) to the first game of the next year. Exciting programs to be around!!
  15. Apology accepted. I seriously doubt you could have handled the fall out from Wildcat fans after that post. Spencer is class through and through who happens to be a superb athlete. He is well liked and respected by this community. If anybody has bragging rights it's Spencer, but you never see that out of him. I'm not sure if all young men could handle the notoriety he has as well as he does. He is a humble guy who let's his ability do his talking. Little boys around here want to grow up and be like Spencer Gulmire. I've noticed one or two OR posters on here making classless remarks as well. Don't judge the Oak Ridge Wildcats or their fans by that. I assure you they are in the minority around here. After the Wildcats the Tribe is my favorite East TN team!
  16. Another "wanna be" DB fan! A true fan of the game and of any team would never make such an ignorant remark. The thought of ANY player from either team possibly being hurt in a play is NEVER funny!!! You need to crawl back into whatever hole you came out of. The DB Indians who took the field Friday night don't need fans like you representing them. They came into a football town filled with Wildcat fans and played one heck of a football game and ended with a well deserved win. They played with character and class (from what I could see) and maintained that till the end. They seem to have not only great talent, but also that certain "magic" you see in a team every so often. It was a GREAT ballgame to watch, even if we lost. Lots better than the ones we Oak Ridgers have seen so far this year (as far as competition) and I'm sure for the DB fans it was as well. A team like this deserves better than a fan who cheapens their image. And, never forget they played a very good team! A team with a lot of heart, character and class as well. When these two great teams play only one (unfortunately) of them can walk away with a win. But, you never walk away from these games feeling cheated out of a night of great football. And, there's nothing wrong with critiquing the game, but being a jerk is ridiculous! DB is our favorite rival and the rivalry stays on the field in hard fought ballgames year in and year out. When the last buzzer sounds it's all respect.
  17. TribeWarrior45: You aren't a "true" Indian, are you? Kingsport DB fans have far more class than you and you only make them look bad. We have always been treated the same by DB whether we win or lose-and that is with class and respect. If I were a DB fan, the only rallying I would do is to get you off here or ask you to adopt another team. You are trying to take the "who's going to come out on top" conversation to a new low.
  18. Thanks, Rebelron. Oak Ridgers always look forward to the Maryville scrimmage. It's always a good measure for us as well! I gotta tell you......the loyalty and pride we feel when those boys walk down those steps is something else. No matter how many times we have witnessed it! When that train whistle sounds and all the little boys and girls line the steps to hit the players on the shoulder pads it's like seeing if for the first time! Thanks for mentioning it. There's nothing like seeing your team run on that field, huh?
  19. pepvol, AMEN! Your post made me want to stand up and salute! ALL of the kids.....whether they have played 10 weeks of ball this fall....or 11, 12, 13, 14 .....or are playing in the championship games today are ALL winners! How can kids possibly learn anything about sportsmanship and respect when they read some of the things that have been posted here? There's no point in anyone saying that it is "all in fun". Because "fun" has taken a nasty turn! Being from east TN, I am proud when any of our teams are represented in Murfreesboro. I was sad to see Maryville lose, but happy that another great east TN team will be vying for the championship. I'm sure you know this already, but jealousy breeds hatred. Maryville is and always has been a "class act"! ROLL WILDCATS IN '04!!!
  20. Very well may be, but it's not going on here. I wouldn't dare speak as to all the other schools. One thing you have to understand about this community is that Wildcat football gets in these guys blood when they are little guys playing for the OR Boys Club. We have the two middle schools that feed the one high school. These boys grow up dreaming of being an OR Wildcat and walking down those steps. Our coaches never have to look outside the community. Seriously, the parents who pay the tuition do it for the education, not for the sports program. I'm sure other young boys growing up in other communities feel that same pull toward the team they think they have a chance of playing for someday. Not meaning to act like it's unique to OR.
  21. Can't argue with facts, fellas. These educational programs are top in the state. And, by the way, I didn't say our football team lives outside the city limits. They are all proud Oak Ridgers, born and bred. With the exception of a couple of boys who don't see much playing time, but their parents can afford the tuition, so no, no unethical exceptions are made.
