  1. If you people from Rhea needs directions to the Boro, call Bradley or White Station.
  2. Truth is, both teams are great and a Bradley/White Station match-up is what everyone but 6 other schools want to see. I believe this year they are more equally matched. Also, the bears go 8 deep, their first two off the bench can start for any school in the state except Bradley and White Station. White Station is the best until someone dethrones them and the Arby's Classic game means nothing but I am sure it gave Bradley a confidence they never had before. Pickel played in the region and started the sub-state. He discovered his stroke from three point land again. His defense is what is so critical, he absolutely made Shelbyville's back court have nightmares. And I can promise you this, Bradley's coach will not allow them to think about anyone but the next game. Best in the state!!!!!!
  3. The Clinton staff made a mistake and did overschedule; we screwed up and we have apologized on at least three occasions to Coach Smith at Bradley. It was an honest mistake and one that we certainly hope won't happen again. There was not a contract between the two schools which contributed to the problem; Clinton already had signed contracts with opponents on the conflicting dates. As far as Clinton's schedule, it is top notch. Just as BC, we have played in several out of state tournaments with excellent competition. Wayne Co. (KY), Pulaski Co. (KY), Chicago Prosser, Chicago Marshall, and Lincoln (IL) are as good or better than just about everyone else on the Dragons' schedule (and that is no knock on any of our in-state opponents). Good Luck to the Dragons and Bears Thanks for clearing this up. It adds something to the game that they have not played. It appears it will be a great game.
  4. Well said. I am through until after the tourney. All the points that can be made have been made. Everyone still playing has had a great year and it is a shame that only one can win. Good point on Justin, we seem to forget about Chris Brown also who may be the most deadly from three point land. Go Bradley.
  5. Hey Baconbreath, who is correct on Hare?????????? I was told he was offered and refused. I thought they knew what they were talking about. I will admit I am wrong but I swear I thought Hare was offered but had to sit 2 years. Clear this matter up.
  6. The most I can remember is down by 10 against Cleveland and they tied the game but lost. That is the night Pickle broke his hand. They played behind some in the district and region but pulled it out. Bradley is just loaded. I have no doubt that Clinton is playing great, too bad we have to wait over a week for the game. You just have to watch Bradley play a few times to understand how well the 4 starting seniors play together. I really hate that they are leaving this year. Oak Ridge was a bump in the road, even the best slip up but not at tourney time.
  7. I know for a fact Bradley scheduled them. There is no doubt they had an agreement. There is no one closer to the program than my source and Bradley was scheduled to play Clinton.
  8. No problem. It is very hard to believe but to each his own. If you know his home life you would understand a little more. His family is heavily involved in helping kids. They have around 10-12 kids in their home(not all related). His brother was Mr. Basketball in 2000. Went to Appy. State now at Samford. Great family from what I know. I know someone who knows them very well.
  9. You are absolutely incorrect. He visited in early Febraury and they offered. Reported through media in southeast Tennessee and an article in the Chattanooga paper. Numerous people can verify if they see this. Told him he wouldn't play for two years. He didn't want to move 3,000 miles away. Hard to believe someone would pass it up but he did. Stanford did bother recruiting him. He could be in Cardinal red if he decided he wanted to.
  10. You are right. Go Bears!!!! I'll be a Clinton fan if they defeat the Bears!!!
  11. 6'4" I think. Justin Hare was offered a full ride to Stanford and honored his word with Belmont. I just found out what I needed to hear. No one, not even White Station can run with Bradley. Every team has held the ball on them the last two weeks. Sorry Clinton, nice run to state, but if you run on Bradley you are going home early. They are absolutely the best running team in the state....hands down. I would love for anyone who has seen them run contradict this.
  12. OK, if Bradley is going to loose to Clinton, then why didn't Clinton play them late in the season on the night they scheduled two games. To be the best you have to beat the best. I am not trying to create an arguement I just wish someone could tell me why they didn't play Bradley that night. You keep harping on this loss to Oak Ridge. Play Bradley's schedule and see what your record is.
  13. They fully understand pressure and playing from behind. They had several tight games in the tournaments. Everyone wants to comment on this one loss. They lost three games with the toughest schedule and destroyed Oak Ridge earlier in the year. Those games mean nothing now. Just have to win three!!!!!!! I am sure Clinton has a few games they want to forget.
  14. Pickle is back and is the best defender in the state at his position. He finally found his stroke after breaking his hand. Bradley's pressure D is awesome. They did loose handily to Oak Ridge without Pickle and only on two days rest from a very physical game with Rhea. No excuses, a loss is a loss but they crushed McMinn by 51 the next game then beat Ooletwah, Rhea and Shelbyville. The key is experience. This is nothing new to them now.
  15. Well said.......how about this one........Go East Tennessee!!!!!!!
  16. I believe Bradley's shortest starter is 6'1". A couple are around 6'6" and 6'7". 4 of the starting 5 can shoot from anywhere. They have two on the bench that could start for most teams in the state and any in Region 3. They play suffocating defense and if you run then it is like bleeding in a shark pool. They are very, very well coached.
  17. For the last time, no one with any sense is over looking anyone at this stage. But I will say this, Dye is in for the hounding of his life with Pickle on him(if that is the match up). He is absolutely suffocating. Good luck to Clinton. I will be pulling for them and Rhea if the Bears loose.
  18. All the above. Talent loaded with incredible pressure D. 4 starters who can shoot from anywhere. Hare and Pickle are a deadly guard combo. Great team that only comes around every few years. They are most deadly when you try and run with them. Most teams have held the ball the past couple weeks to keep it in control. White Station is the only team that matches up at every position. And yes I know, anything can happen. All I am saying is that this team is loaded. They played one bad game this year against Oak Ridge without Pickle so they can be beat. They played better games in their other loses. With Pickle back now they have to be the favorite with White Station.
  19. I would be the first to tell them great job!!!!!!!!!
  20. For those of you who don't understand this post. Clinton scheduled two games on the same night late in the year. Bradley and Cumberland I believe. They chose to not play Bradley for whatever reason. I have no idea why they didn't play but it is my understanding that Clinton had the choice. Bradley scheduled them because they knew they were a great team and Kent Smith trys to play the best. 1st toughest schedule according to coacht. Rhea County 4 times Cleveland 3 times Giles County 2 times White Station once Played State Champions from Alabama Just to name a few. No disrespect to anyone. But to be the best you have to beat the best. Clinton has to beat Bradley just like Bradley needs to put the critics to rest and win the state this year.
  21. Not taking anything away from Clinton but Kornfed(whatever his name is) may be right. Bradley has been playing so-so with a week of rest and preparation time it may be ugly. You have to understand, the talent on Bradley's team comes around once every 20 years(except for White Station). They are just too good and have played some of their worst ball in the last two weeks. They can now heal up and hopefully win three more games. But if Bradley or Rhea can't win, then Go Clinton.
  22. Good luck to Coach Crowder's transfer team............Just a joke before you people get bent out of shape. I have no problem with the transfers if they are legal(which they are). I hope Bradley and Rhea meet again at state. Unchartered waters for Rhea though. They have a great team that can play with anyone. Go Bears!!!!!!!!! Go Eagles!!!!!! But go Bears more! Distict Five is alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. I will give credit to Shelbyville. They are better than I thought they would be. They slowed the tempo once Bradley got off to a fast start and hung in there. The difference maker was Bradley's suffocated defense in the 3rd quarter. If Bradley does not turn the ball over multiple times in the second half they win by 30 or more. Hopefully we will see White Station and Bradley in the finals again. Taking nothing away from the other schools but these two are clearly the best in the state this year. Oh yeah, be warned, Kellen Pickle was back in full force from his broken hand. He finally started stroking threes and applied tremendous pressure on defense.
  24. I understand Shelbyville likes to run the floor and press. This is the major strength of Bradley. Most schools in the tourneys have held the ball to stay in the game. If Shelbyville runs they might as well keep going out the door. Bears will roll if they run!!!!!!!!!!!!
