  1. Good run by White Station. I am a Bradley Central fan and have experienced their dominance first hand. It is going to be really strange with no White Station or Bradley Central at the 'Boro this year.
  2. Most insane said in this thread is that the crowds would be down in Bradley played Cleveland in the finals, these people just don't understand Bradley and Cleveland.
  3. Here is the key, does not matter who the dark horse is or how far you make it, you must win the region to get the home sub-state game, Bradley has had it the last 5 or 6 years and hopefully again this year. I honestly hope Bradley plays Ooltewah because McMinn and Cumberland are due against us but the region and district are where coaching and defense become key and their are none better than Bradley in either case. Also, Cumberland is a great place to see a game just too far away for most and the officials have been good and called it both ways good or bad. Cumby scored 32 on Bradley but only one really big bucket at half time, no other momentum changers, that is the key with any great player, they will get theirs just make them seem meaningless, Bradley did just that. GO BEARS!!!!
  4. No hate, just is he could be truly dominate if not for the attitude and work ethic. He appears to think the world should stop turning when he arrives. That is why people don't care for him.
  5. Bradley by 15-20 in the end. Their defense is finally clicking and they won by 42 or 43 at Bradley. I know the game is at Cumberland but a win like that does well for their confidence plus McMinn played them close twice this year but couldn't handle the pressure "D" this week. Great run for Cumberland though. I am glad to see them competitive again in the district.
  6. If you knew what you were talking about you would know that Bradley Central had the #1 rated schedule last year and were in the top 5 the previouse two years. No one will play them in our area and the Arby's Classic refused to let them defend their title(yes, refused because Coach Smith attempted to enter and they never returned his calls and when they did the tourney was full). Only one Chattanooga team would schedule them this year(Red Bank) and they had to take 11 days off two weeks ago because they could find no one to play them. You can only play so many out of region teams. Weaker schedule was not due to lack of effort.
  7. There was rough play on both ends but the bottom line is the coach has to keep quiet in those situations. I don't know what he said to the ref at the scorers table but whatever it was it must have been bad because the last thing the ref wants to do is call a technical on either coach in this game at that time. Coach Green has a history of blowing up and it is a shame because it has cost them in the past. The thing I don't understand is how the refs let rough play happen and then call minor contact fouls(on both teams). Oh well, hopefully we get one or two more Bradley/Cleveland games in the district and region tournaments.
  8. This remark is insane and uncalled for. Bradley and Cleveland both had players in foul trouble and Bradley was the only team to have someone foul out(Sutter). Coach Green lost his temper once again and this time it cost Cleveland big time with Bradley shooting 4 foul shots(2 for the original foul and two for the technical on Green) then they got the ball. This all happens in the last 40 seconds. Both teams shot horribly in the first half and Cleveland coundn't knock down threes. Hopefully we rematch at Cumberland County, that is if Cleveland does not loose them again.
  9. It is either 42 or 43 in a row.
  10. It boils down to this, Bradley has alot of haters because they have been so dominate over the last 5-6 years. They have won the district and region most of the last six years. I believe all 6 of last region championships, 5 of 6 district titles and two state runner up titles. However, this is understandable just like if McMinn or Cleveland was that dominate. Bradley gains respect in the polls because of tradition and recent success but I believe most of all the voters in the state realize what a great coach Kent Smith is and as long as he has decent talent he will win to some degree. They also realize that Bradley plays a very tough schedule, it is a little weaker this year but no one will play them. They had 11 days off before the McMinn game due to that fact, not an excuse but anyone would be rusty and McMinn is not a easy place to play. They played in the talented Huntsville Times Classic and lost one game and played the 4A state champs from Georgia and won. The district is also better from top to bottom this year and the tournament should be great.
  11. You know I come on here as a Bradley fan to give Cleveland their due and nothing but trash follows. Cleveland played very well and deserved to win. Bradley is top five and Cleveland has not lived up to their preseason billing. Bradley beat Cumberland by 42 last week, the same team Cleveland lost to the week before. Anything can happen in a rivalry game. I wouldn't count my chickens before they hatch, last year the same was said when Cleveland beat Bradley and when they played at Bradley it was 27-7 before Cleveland could catch their breath. I hope Cleveland continues to play well because I would like to see our district represented well during post season playing in the sub-state.
  12. As a die hard Bradley Central fan who dislikes Cleveland with every fiber of my being as a Auburn fan hates Alabama I have to give Cleveland their due respect. They played well, took Bradley's perimeter shooting away, pulled down rebounds and made free throws and earned the win.....nothing cheap about this one. Can't wait for the rematch in two weeks at Bradley where the Bears will most likely be on a 44-0 streak at home. Last year Cleveland handed Bradley their only district loss at Cleveland and Bradley destroyed them in the rematch. Good win for the Raiders!
  13. It boils down to this, for a team to graduate 8 players and still be ranked period is incredible. Will Bradley win the state this year, who knows, but this program is built on excellent defense and great shooting. No one in the Chattanooga area can touch them when they are on and with no clear cut dominate team in the state(White Station the last three years) then anything can happen. Until someone can unseat Bradley from the district or region crown(which they have not been able to do in several years) then people need to give them there due. Go Bears! 43 in a row at home. Also for those of you knocking their schedule. The Arby's Classic wouldn't allow them to defend their title and no one will schedule them anymore. They have great difficulty finding people outside the district to play them.
  14. Bradley--95 Cumberland--52 It all came together tonight for Bradley. excellent "D", unselfish play and outstanding shooting.
  15. You are correct. I am a Bradley Central supporter and Giles County(AA) gave Bradley all they wanted last year(twice). You don't have to have as many students to be competitive in b-ball simply because you need fewer talented players. So very talented smaller schools and sometimes compete with larger ones. I feel that if Bradley and Temple played it would be close for about three quarters and then Bradley would pull away. Not an insult to Temple just is that Bradley is very deep and extremely well coached. Keep it up Bears--41 in a row at home.
  16. Read 'em and weep. Temple #1 in state in Class A. Poll out today. Bradley Central #2 in Class AAA. Would be a great game if they played. Bradley by 10 in the end but close all the way through. Also, Bradley has played with every Memphis team in the State tourney they have faced, beating several, just couldn't get past White Station. Go Temple! Go Bradley! Chattanooga Basketball is alive and well.
  17. This one is easy, Kent Smith at Bradley Central.
  18. They were not contacted about playing this year. When Coach Smith contacted them he didn't get a return call for two weeks and they told him the field was full. Bradley Central was not happy about this. They are playing in the Huntsville Times Classic in Huntsville, AL. Very good tourney, probably the best in Alabama but still not the Arby's Classic.
  19. Bradley is absoluetly the real deal. Not the offensive team of last year but no one plays better defense and I was not at the game but I talked with someone who was and Bradley's defense made the difference. Cumberland has always been a tough place to play. Until someone unseats Bradley as the district and region champs it is hard to say anyone is better because they may have lost a lot of players last year but had many waiting in the wings.
  20. I saw CSAS play at Polk County, Bradley and Cleveland would run CSAS off the floor.
  21. I was at this game and Polk Co. played great. CSAS did struggle and you can tell they are better team than they showed. However, Polk is much better this year, not a championship team but no cake walk either.
  22. Best point yet. I believe Bradley wins last year if Pickel does not get hurt. He came back but the chemistry was never the same. Also, anyone who would question Coach Smith at this juncture just does not understand the game. 38-0 streak at home currently, two state runner up titles, have won the district last five years, region the last three I believe. I have followed Bradley basketball for years and I am glad to see a coach play the kids that deserve to play. If these kids are not on the court I can promise there is good reason.
