  1. It is great for OR and the entire state of TN girls basketball for OR to go to Phoenix and play great and represent the state with class as they always do. It should also tell us that girls basketball in TN is one of if not the best area in the nation when it comes to girls roundball. You know as a team and player that TN girls basketball is tough when you go on a national stage and have success and then come back home and there are teams and coaches here that are better than what you played in Phoenix. Way to go Lady Cats, keep playing great and hopefully winning. If you are an OR fan, I am sure you wish that to contiinue when they return home all the way to the State tournament in March, if they are lucky enough to make it that far. After this week, there should not be any idiot newspaper writer asking "Who are these girls from Oak Ridge"? In fact, if they had a clue about girls basketball they would have known who Oak Ridge is. Having been to this tournament many times, Oak Ridge has represented itself very well. They just don't always have the #1 recruits as the so called big name schools do. I do believe that Coach P can outcoach just about anyone that she is matched up against. 800 + wins to prove it. Alot of those with inferior tallent.
  2. This is a HS job, not college. Comparing the two is not a fair comparison. Apples to oranges and not a "BIG" Orange.
  3. Be careful about Long Beach being out of the winners bracket. The group that OR is in happens to be the very top pool in the tournament. There is not a bad team in their group. Maybe some coaches that are not as good as others but the talent is there. CTK's coach is an excellent one also and I am sure it was a great match of two very good coaches. Not surprising it was a defensive game. Some games will be easier than others but in the bracket they are in, there will not be an easy game. Have a good game Lady Cats and represent TN well as you always do.
  4. As long as the pressent administration is in place at OR, Joe Gaddis will not be the coach at OR.
  5. Gray would be a good fit for OR because he and Mullins are big buds.
  6. There are actually three sides to every story. . . . . yours, mine and the truth.
  7. Not black, not white, but Grey for OR. Stanton to Knox Central when Helton hangs it up.
  8. Boy, what a relief. Think I will cancel my season tickets and listen on the radio. Oh wait, OR doesn't have a radio station anymore. The fastest computer in the world, a Walmart and no radio station for the #1 HS football program in the state or maybe the southeast.
  9. The stephens era is over, let's move on to the gray era.
  10. It's always the officials fault. Boo Hoo.
  11. I don't know about this year. All I know is what happened last year. You say if we play you. I am not a OR player, just someone that 1/2 way keeps up with hs girls basketball. Toughnut must be a MWest player as he/ she referred to MWest as we. Don't really care who plays who. Just like to watch the games. Everyone have a great injury free season.
  12. NOt if they have to play Wilson Central and the big kid (can't think of her name) handles them like she did last year.
  13. To satisfy bigboi, Mo. West will be playing in the Greenbank Ladies Classic and open up with the Golden Eaglettes and then depending upon whether they win or lose will play either D-B or Buena CA. In addition, they will get plenty of AAA teams in their district play.
  14. It was actually the umpire that called the illegal substitution and yes they missed it 3 other times. One of the weakest crews ever to work a semi final game. The also worked the 5a final game last year. It was obvious that TC was the best team. They did not need to throw the pass late in the game with a 20 to 10 lead. They had been running the ball gaining what they needed and should have run the clock out. Instead, the kick a FG with 1:30 to go. Classless, but I am sure TC felt it was needed to protect the lead and seal the win. Oneida is the definition of class.
  15. We can only hope that he is retiriing. But lying larry has lied before and will again.
  16. Playing on UT's court is way overrated. No big deal. Just another basketball court with an empty arena. It is much more exciting to play in a hs gym with many more people in attendance.
  17. IMO, if you open the doors, charge admission and sell popcorn, the game counts (win or lose).
  18. I don't know about most of the coaches listed as being from Oneida, but Leslie Smith who coaches at Livingston is from Livingston. She may have had a cup of coffee at Oneida but she is from Livingston. Jimmy Gaylor may have had a brief stop at Oneida but he is from Nashville.
  19. For the umpteenth time, Gaddis will not be returning to OR unless there are major personel changes at the school. His leaving had nothing to do with football. He couldn't behave himself. It doesn't matter how many times the "selection" committee comes up with his name. If there is a change, the name that is mentioned the most is TL from Oneida. Consider it for what it is worth.
  20. Some day we will learn that drs. do not always know best. If the truth be known they probably don't know any better than any one else.
  21. Not a very smart decision to bring him back in a game that only meant seeding for the playoffs, if in fact that was the case. Collarbone injuries take a long time to heal. It is very unfortunate for the young man.
  22. I heard that the game time has been moved to 8:00. If so, what is up with changing the game time?
