  1. I think livingston's coach is very intense. I have seen her do some real coaching at times, as for Jackson County I would not throw stones in a glass house, when you go to talking that way about other people's coaches, players, etc.... you only set yourself up to be criticized..
  2. How did Riverdale look, who played well for them, and did Bradley have a bad night or is Riverdale that good...
  3. I wouldn't start in now guessing where Coffee County will finish in the district, February is a long ways away and by then once they have fully adjusted to the new style they are playing at, they could do some good things, but it is a tough district, but I would definately not put them seventh.
  4. I have seen Cari Play a few times, and she is a really good sport. For that I wish her a full recovery.
  5. I found this to be a very interesting game. The first quarter the Lady Raiders really did a good job taking Bradley out of their element, but they did not capitalize on Bradley's mistakes but they stayed ahead. In the second quarter they did not do as good of a job in making Bradley play their game and they fell behind but they weren't out of the game. And when they came out after half time all but about 4 of their players seemed to just have given up. This very young Lady Raider team does not have any idea of the things they could accomplish if they would come out thinking they could beat people, I think as the season goes on and they get a few games under their belt they will realize their capabilities and be able to beat some big teams, they definately had a chance to win it last night. They are only a short step away from being at the next level in my opinion. Good first half, but work on the second halves Lady Raiders.
  6. I would say there are alot of underrated players more names will surface once season gets started up good
  7. That's right. Moore County can never be underestimated. But on that same token Coffee County didn't look too bad their first time out either. Run and Gun would definately be a correct analysis of their game! I saw a few very significant things that they could improve on, but they were mostly things that you can count on coming as the season moves on. One thing you can guarantee is that they'll probably be in there working hard today and improving, I was very impressed with this young team and the vibe I got from the folks I talked to was likewise. Coffee County may finally get a chance to see what they haven't seen in 10 years.
  8. This was a good game to add into what I consider a very tough schedule, it will be a great game and Coffee County will have an opponent of their caliber to play against before the actual season starts. Good Luck CC.
  9. Popeye, why do you disagree, what you said is exactly what I meant, I believe you are right as well, but all I am saying is that a coach cannot make ALL of the difference in a team SOMETIMES.
  10. You obviously did not read my post correctly, No where in that post did I say that coaching did not make a difference. I said coaching does not make all of the difference all of the time. I am not a disgruntled parent either. I also said that good coaching can make alot of difference in some cases, but you must have missed that part... maybe this will help you understand what I mean, If you have a handful of players that don't have any heart, can you coach that into them?? Absolutely not so in that case coaching wouldn't make any difference because no matter what there would never be any heart on the court. example number 2 : I watched the girls from my town one year win a state championship and they were great, it would not have mattered who their coach was, they just gelled on the court, a new coach was given credit for that and undeservingly. I definately think there is things a coach can do to help win or lose a game , but in the end it is all about the players. Maybe you should go to a website where you only have to read half of the post before responding....
  11. Give the little man a team of hometown girls and see what he does with them.... he'd be average like most of the rest I don't think coaching makes ALL the difference, because a coach does not do the little things that win a game, but good coaching can make some difference and alot of difference in some cases but coaching does not make all the difference all the time
  12. The Shelbyville and Bradley Central game was a great game. However I can't wait to see how some of the rest of the 8AAA games come out.
  13. Cannon, as always will have a hardworking and physical playing team, and will give a few teams some trouble, they could do some good things, but don't look for them to go to far come March. Coffee County is going to be an undergog this year. No one is expecting them to be any good with the loss of Amber Benjamin and Blue Buchanan, but it wasn't necessarily bad for them. They also have a very great smart coach who knows the game of basketball and they don't have a go-to player so they play as a team. Look for them to surprise alot of people.
  14. Shelbyville usually only has two or three good upcoming players, the rest just appear out of nowhere....they just come there without any info or anything about shelbyville, whole families just pack up and move there....
  15. I personally do not see how Coffee got that far down the list. They are gonna be a great team this year. They finally got a real coach in there that knows his stuff, and those girls have grit, and they haven't been behind Columbia or Franklin in a while. I say Coffee Will be a stinger and an underdog this year. Everyone better look out for them, but of course like the last 8 years Shelbyville is the team to beat. Look for the Lawrence and Coffee game to be a good one if not the Coffee and Shelbyville one.
  16. Are there no more names from 8AAA than that, I hear they have a pretty rough tough junior class coming up.
  17. The girls from Coffee Played up at Harriman this weekend and came out first in the substate. It's amazing how together this team is. CONGRATS TENNESSEE STORM!!!
  18. They have a few great outside shooters, Carden is prolly one of the best, Walker can hit very important and BIG shots in big games and sometimes she has her nights and can shoot very well, their post players can also shoot well from around fifteen foot.
  19. The talent level is surprising. They need a coach who will be there for them, who is understanding(a seasoned coach), yet they need someone hard-nosed because I honestly beleive that all those girls will push and wrok very hard they all want to win, hard-nosed coach for hard-nosed players
  20. 8AAA IS one of the toughest districts in the mid-state and none of the top four teams are DOORMATS as you would say, the only reason that CC has only had one state title is because that was the only team they EVER have had to where EVERY person on the team CARED. You will see more and more of that this year Coffee will surprise alot of people, and the fact that Benjamin was the only one that was ever discussed is because that's the way they played they had ONE player on the court, not because they others weren't good enough but because EVERYTHING was centered around Amber, it seemed at times that it was more important to let her play a whole game good night or not than it was to win. You can't be all about 1 player, a team is a unit not 5 individuals,...ok I'm done raving
  21. That's right but unfortunately coaching clinics can't teach a coach how to have class about them...
  22. against it...gotta finish what you start good or bad..

    smyrna

Smyrna's problem with Donaldson was not that she didnt Know the game, that she does, she just doesnt know how to coach it without being completely negative, negativity is just something that comes with coaching but too much of it plus and attitude gets you nowhere....as you can see...
  24. What does everyone think about next year's 8AAA basketball action. Give me the view on upcoming talent and etc...
