  1. the team from the bahamas was the worst team to ever play in the arby's. they could not shoot, pass, they were just plain awful. statesboro ga. was no good, bradley central was good by didn't play that well against host tn. high, i left after the first quater of riverdale game because they were bad too. my video and audio is working well.
  2. no the toughest team that people enjoy watching is unaka and this coming from a highlander grad. it's time 2 coaching quit acting like big cry babies and let these kids play one another. you are suppose to be examples for the kids but you guys can't sit down and work things out. when you substitute tri cites christian for unaka you killed your crowd and your tournament.
  3. i know the all time leading scorers from cloudland and hampton but was interested in unaka basketball. who is the all time leading scorers and who has scored more than 1000 points in their career at unaka? what is the most points scored by an individual in a game for cloudland and unaka? fair with 48 tops hampton.
  4. you better work overtime the king
  5. that was a touching post by jeff foxworthy. congragulations go out to elizabethon asst. coach and his new job new job as mascot for the oregon state beavers. mabe you might get some McCulloch chainsaw commercials. you got it by the skin of your teeth. can we say beechnut chicklet gum.
  6. what's wrong, no basketball news at unaka high school. how about overated.
  7. tournament is called the Toliet Bowl Classic with the King serving as tournament director.
  8. you could draw names out of a hat and get a better girls coach than what happy valley has. lots of talent with no coaching
  9. if you had a coach, redd would be the best player on that team and everyone knows it. coach17, get our teeth fixed they are killing me
  10. You talk about fit throwing, chair smacking, screaming at players it was almost abusive to watch last nights unaka east game and i was only there for half of it. we laughed at ensor because he was going crazy. smacked a seat funny thing was when he was subbing for 55 on a two shot foul and 55 walks off and sits on the bench. you could see smoke coming from atop his forehead. when chambers shot a three he laid the smack down on a chair and was screaming at the top of his lungs. dyer gets a t and throws his sweater, it was more fun to watch these crazy guys coach than the game.
  11. hey I can't read, if you read my post I said I was at Happy Valley for until almost halftime and at Unaka for the second half of their game taking pictures. Duh!
  12. hey flossie, I didn't know you were in a movie DADDY DAYCARE
  13. hey Fritz, why don't you stay off coach t and do your job at the press? you should enter the Jeff Foxworth look-a-like contest.
  14. don't expect much with moe, larry and curley on the bench. hire you a good coach and you might get somewhere
  15. who played defense on him, ray charles.
  16. You are correct in your assesment that Volunteer does have fine team. It's probably the moonshine taking effect. I thought Unaka coaches had the shortest haircuts but your coach wins that honor.
  17. 3 sorry referees, 2 bad teams and one good coach Hardin who outcoached the sliver fox Bayless "again".
  18. Well I got to see Unaka for the third time last night and in my opinion they have the best team in the county, hands down. The other games was Knox Bearden and Tennessee High. Last night I learned this was only the fourth game that they have had everyone there due to sickness and injury. Chambers played last night wit a high fevor and Cline was sick too. The big kid played good #55 but I was impressed with the Unaka hustle as I got there at halftime they were up by 2. Chambers kept drilling passes through the East defense for wide open shots for #55 and Dyer got upset and got a t. Those of us who have been in this business for years know that Unaka always steps it up to another level after Christmas. I was looking at their schedule and noticed no games between Dec. 19 and Jan. 6. You can bet Ensor will have them in the gym everyday. Dyer told us they were as good of team as he had faced all year last night. Why did Happy Valley keep subbing 5 in and 5 out last night in the first half. They never could get in the flow of the game and there is too much talent at Happy Valley to play that way. Bayless needs to retire inside the teepee and let a new chief come to town.
  19. Until the TSSAA steps in and decides to award high school games on performance rather than years service this is what you have old men out of shape trying to run with high school athletes. I am not a Warrior nor a Cyclone fan just their watching last night and I can honestly say that this game ranks up there as one of the worst officiated games in my life. I only got to see half of game as I had to drive across town to another county contest. Personally I am sick and tired of seeing Joel, Sonny and the whole stinking crew at elementary games and I vote chrome dome Hale, the arby's wanna be official, who loves Coach Burns dearly as the worst offical ever.
  20. Who are the players that make their teams much better? Not just scoring but passing, rebounding and other things needed to be a complete player. A good attitude and sportsmanship are a must.
  21. Coach Hazelwood is going nowhere. Hampton doesn't have any talent to work with. As for Cloudland I was am a Cloudland graduate and former athlete. I remember coach White being there. He just didn't have much to work with. As for the present Hhighlander situation i am shocked that coach Smith puts up with this. I have younger son who is a good athlete but if the present situation don't change I will send him to Hampton. For example years ago Unaka was a pushover in my high school days but when Snavely and then Ensor came along they brought with them discipline. That is the difference between them and us. That is why they win the big games. It's not up to me but by letting this kid quit and come back several times thus far, I would welcome someone like Jerry White to Roan Mountain. I think our community would embrace him. A coach must layout the rules and regulations for kids to follow and White is very good at that. I want to see the kids play that work hard and show up for practice instead of someone who doesn't care. Players like Aaron, Craig and Mark are a blessing to Highlander athletics.
