  1. Yeah, if Bartlett lost to Science Hill today, they would have to play them again once more to be eliminated. If they win, they go to the Championship.
  2. What happened to Caleb? We finally got the broadcast..
  3. No Caleb Burrow is his son. So 1-0 who is leading?
  4. My bosses son plays for Bartlett and is a senior. We cant get the radio broadcast to work though. Can anyone tell us the score and inning?
  5. Hey guys, Im James Lindow. I wrestled for Collierville High from 2001 to 2005. And then the past two years ive helped coach Collierville Middle. Im looking for somewhere to help out when I move up to Clarksville. Id like to help out with any age, from elementary to high school. If anyone needs or would like some help for their bigger guys, let me know.
  6. Mike, it was a thing of beauty! I hope that our Dragons can take that same attitude and energy into this weekend at region duals. Congrats to all of our guys for a great season so far, but now its time to get to business. Now because I know all of you are looking at this (Including yal 'stangs and wolves), yall kick ###### and be prepared. Theres not a reason in heck that yall cant go and do great at state again. So good luck guys and have fun.
  7. Rogers at 215, Conley at 275...There, I predicted the champions in advance for ya. Hows that? Ive wrestled both, and if you'd wanna know, Rogers would beat Conley if they went against each other. Ive trained and practiced with Rogers, and I know he is one of the best. Conley is a big brute and will make you pay if you try to use strength against him.
  8. Hopefully so..Ive had a bug to where ive ran a temperature from 101-103.5 since sunday and its got pretty...worse then anything ive ever had during wrestling. Kinda suckes cause you can't breath fully and you can't move as quickly because your body is so weak and feels like its going to fall apart. Hopefully no one else has to go through this and hopefully everyone is healthy on saturday. For everyone elses sake, ill just stay at home lol..
  9. Tisdale was sick and you could definitely see it in his wrestling and his additude. Don't expect to see the Tisdale you saw at Germantown. I believe he is going to be back and dominant in no time, just like last year.
  10. I believe that Brett Rogers from Collierville might be going 275. If he does, he will easily win state. Brett threw Carl Taylor, Stewart Allen, and as well as myself around easily. He is also alot stronger this year, and as long as he works in practice under a new coach, he will win State. Vandergriff is not bad, but I wasn't that impressed with him. Same with Clarksville Heavyweight. I believe he placed yet I pinned him in like 30 seconds. With his height and strength, watch out for Rogers.
  11. I will be surprised if Green doesn't win State once again. He was probably one of the hardest matches I had at all last year when I beat him at Father Ryan. He is a heck of a wrestler as far as strength. I don't know much about Coffey at all. Isn't FR Heavy still there or did he graduate? He should place no lower then 4rd in the Tournament. Collierville Heavyweight 05
  12. Wow lets pull up something that has NOTHING to deal with 2005-2006 Wrestling. And btw, Bartlett Coaching screwed up by coming out to Collierville. If Bartlett had actually payed attention, we had cancelled that dual about 3 weeks ahead of schedule. But, of course, parents or wrestlers had no idea about that. Why don't be only post stuff that applies with this year huh guys? Im sick of hearin bout old bullcrap.
  13. Weighins are 3:00-4:30 on Thursday, Wrestling starts at 5:30, not sure if this includes the advance class or not. I know its all day saturday as well.
  14. Not really, I was referring to the middle school tournament..it was kind of upsetting because alot of our guys just didn't know all these other moves and finishes that some of the other teams like CBHS and Houston know. It's kind of hard to go out and beat a guy thats wrestled before and beat him with a half nelson when he knows how to defend it..its going to be interesting what happens next week at bolton..i believe also next week is g-town preseason so i might run out there too.
  15. Hmm, I woulda kind of liked a mix. I still want someone to push me, but Id also want someone that is going to give me more suggestions then just "do this, do that. end of story". I like coaching like that too, allowing the kids to do what they want, but also giving them suggestions on what else they might do in order to learn more and do something that may be alittle more useful. But also, it may come back to bite you in the butt, like a few of our guys had happen today at the tournament.
  16. Mike, Cottrell was the type of coach that pushed you, but only so far. Bowman at least watched your matches and made out cards about what were your positives and negatives, remember those? I still have a few of them somewhere, and heck, alot of them still apply. Also, I would of liked to of had days where we could go work out if they wanted to, and make summer lifting more "you have to be here" than "you can come 3 out of 5 days, thats fine" type weightlifting. And alot of guys were sucking wind last year, mostly cause we'd just run 2-3 miles at the beginning of practice and that was all. Sure you got pushed alittle bit but Bowman made you sprint your butt off time after time until you were drained. Really, I didn't hate Bow as much as some of you older guys did. He was just another coach and someone else to show me moves back then. But I think as time progressed, I woulda liked to seen a Walt or Bradley in my corner, but thats just me. Oh yeah guys, didn't yall miss Kent Johnson in that little list for the gold? I mean, he is a returning state champion, plus he's getting the active coaching that he needs, instead of Phil's laidback attitude type wrestling. (Nothing against laidback attitude wrestling) Just my opinion..thats all
  17. Good job Mitchner! Hah hope you end up going to AFA, my uncle wrestled for them in the late 1980's and said it changed him for life and gave him a whole new outlook on wrestling. Im not sure about how good other teams across Tennessee will be. It will be interesting to see if Don will make a positive impact on Collierville. I hate to say it, but Cottrell didn't push us as hard as we could have been pushed. It takes a balance of Weight Training, Wrestling Techniques, and Conditioning to make a good wrestling team. We got about 2/3 of that equation. I think the reason you saw Cordova as such a dominant team last year is because they had a full package. Hmm..so who do you think will be a standout this season in Region 10 area. Think we got anymore guys that can get Gold at the State tournament? and this also includes D2
  18. Hmm..Yeah, Collierville might have a few surprises this year..As far as ive heard and the way the guys are looking after practice, id say Collierville is getting the type of conditioning and training they need in order to stay #1 in the Region. Collierville has a very veteran squad with Kent Johnson, Brett Rogers, Chris Tisdale, Blake Britcliffe, Daniel Poteet (Strong as an ox), Colton Kropp, Austen Packer, and even lil Bradley Rogers, who will definitely turn out to be as good or better then his brother by the time he graduates. They did suffer a loss, loosing 4 seniors with 4yrs varsity experience, but Collierville usually looses about 4-6 seniors per year. I expect Collierville to start out alittle slow and build up quickly by Christmas. But, im still expecting something big out of G-town, Houston, Ridgeway, and Cordova. G-town has been a sleeping giant the past few years, so im thinking Coach Bradley might have one of those strong years coming up. Houston has been good, but I think this year they will give Collierville a true run for their money. Both teams are very skillful and have veterans on each teams (should be a great dual) Ridgeway and Cordova both have very talented wrestlers but I don't expect them to be as powerful as last year. Please, speak up and tell me what you think! Id like to hear what everyone has to say.
  19. Figured I would drop in and wish everyone the best of seasons. Kinda stinks not being able to wrestle this year ...oh well, guess my lil bro will have to enjoy it for me. I have talked to a few people from germantown and houston, saying they both will have strong teams. I think a Collierville team led by Johnson, Tisdale, and Rogers will still be the dominant in the region. Is it true that Houston has no seniors this year? Hope to see everyone very soon! P.S: Whats up with 275 this year? Since all 3 of us big boys graduated (Lindow, Taylor, and Allen), who is going be a force? I believe Bolton should be good, but thats all ive really heard about.
  20. For AAA, Collierville should be pretty good up until the Finals. That might be when they choke. How are the brackets set up? Farragut and Halls going to get a shot at Collierville only in the finals? Or will they play them earlier like maybe the semi's? (Baseball aint my forte)
  21. Ive wrestled heavyweight for two years and I rarely took a shot. I do a ton of throws just because I weigh 225 and can't ever shoot underneath a fatter guy and get the leg up. Now as far as this weekend goes with Davis wrestling Vandergriff, Davis stalled most of the time and didnt even attempt to do anything. I think Vandergriff is a much better wrestler, but it's just you cant wrestle heavyweight like a 189 or a 215. Heavyweight wrestling is very slow sometimes and more about power.
  22. Oh no no no, Im not bellyaching, but I was just kinda wondering why Region 8 always draws best first. If its done off of 1,2,3, and 4, then I understand....Dont believe it but yeah, doesn't really matter. Work with the cards you got. And as far as Bradley goes, I think we should be able to beat them as long as we wrestle smart and we do our jobs. Hey Del, I thaught you actually believed that it was "blind draw"
  23. 1999-Houston goes against Bradley first round. Bradley wins it. 2000-Houston goes against Clarksville first round. Clarksville wins it. 2002-Bolton goes against Soddy Daisy first round. Soddy wins it. 2003-Collierville goes against Bradley first round. Bradley win. 2004-Collierville goes against Clarksville. Clarksville places 4th. 2005-Collierville goes against Bradley first round once again. Bradley is ranked 1st in State. Excuse me if my dates are alittle off, but you get the picture. Im not going to belly ache cause its not going to change anyones mind, but doesn't it just seem alittle weird, looking up at that?
  24. You know, your all right. I need to let my actions speak louder then words. I wasn't trying to be arrogant and just ramble on about how Im so great and stuff. Im just gaining confidence now the closer we get to Regionals. This is my last year and im trying to have fun. I dont mean to knock on people or get anyone upset, Im just gettin confidence in me. Like I said, sorry if I offend people, I don't mean to.
  25. Im sorry to hear that Coach Bray, and I hope all your guys get better in time for Regional Individuals...Whats going to happen now? Does everyone bump up in our District now? or does it account for a bye?
