  1. At half time the Moore Co. coaches, players and managers went to the locker room leaving #2 (I think) laying on the sideline with a trainer and a couple girls. As I walked by, I stopped and asked the trainer if she needed help she said she needed the EMT's. I went across the field and got them. The Moore Co. band was performing by that time; the Cascade band came on the field and started their show before the ambulance was brought to the Moore Co. sideline. Most people didn't know that the player was down before that point. One of the Moore Co. coaches came back to check on the down player about the time they were loading him in the ambulance. It wasn't a lack of respect on the part of the Cascade band, they just were not aware of what was going on. I hope the boy is OK.
  2. I enjoyed meeting several Bobcats fans and coaches, nice folks. You have a very good team, well coached and some great individual talent. Giles Co. is probably the best team Cascade has every played.
  3. You can't miss me... I'll be the old guy carrying the down marker. Travel safe, roads are pretty good... I would go thru Lewisburg, Shelbyville and take the Fairfield Pike out of Shelbyville to the School. According to Google 1.5 hrs. I hope the Champions can make a game of it tonight. We know that it will be a big challenge but I think our guys are up for it. May the best team win. Go Champions !!!
  4. Yes, the visitor's seating is small. We really need to improve the seating on both sides of the field but there is serious talk about building a new Cascade High School and so doing anything at the current site is not getting a lot of consideration at this time. There probably won't be any seats open on the home side... they are usually full by 6:30. Lots of the home crowd sit in folding chairs on the hill on the visitor's side. The hill offers a good view of the action and you can see over the fence riders. I suggest you consider bring a folding chair...
  5. Thursday morning: weather report 70% chance of rain Friday night in Wartrace... I predict that the Bobcats come out of the gate fast, slip and slide on a muddy field and go home with their tails between their legs... oh wait, Bobcats don't have a tail... maybe I better rethink this All kidding aside, it will probably be a wet field but I don't see that changing the outcome of the game. Both teams have to play on the same field. We are excited to be playing Giles Co. for the first time ever and looking forward to welcoming you to the "Stable". All in all, we are pretty nice folks; we like our football and we play a pretty good game. Also, we have the best band (state-wide Champion 2A last year) in the area that keeps the crowd involved in the game. May the best win and I hope that will be the Champions.
  6. He don't ware no shoes... he likes to feel those gravel under his feet... did I mention, our field is a little tough in places. All kidding aside, I'm glad you mentioned the shoes laces... we'll have to tape him up real good. Looking forward to a good game Friday night. We are new at this "BigBoy" football but we'll do the best we can. Hope the rain holds off, the visitors side doesn't drain very well.
  7. Well, this is going to be a totally new experience for the Cascade coaches, players and fans. We got bounced up from 2A to 3A because of a hand full to transfers that dropped out after a couple of weeks of school last year... but... it is what it is and we will have to play the hand we are dealt. A lot of our guys play both ways and that is hard to do for four quarters. The Bobcats have a great football tradition and it will be hard to not let that get into our heads but I'm sure the Cascade coaches and players will give you the best game we have and leave in all on the field. We have played pretty well so far this year but Giles Co. will be a whole new level of football for us. I hear you guys travel well and we are expecting a big crowd Friday night. The visitors seating is very limited so you better get there early or bring a folding chair. The visitor's side is on a hill so you can see quite well from a chair on the ground. Travel safe... Go Champions...
  8. We are looking forward to hosting the Bobcats at Cascade. We are new to AA ball and have a lot to learn. We stepped up from 2A in the reclassification last year because of a few students who transferred in and then dropped out 2-3 weeks after school started. But, it is what it is and we will play the hand that we are dealt. Looking forward to seeing what we can do against the big boys.
  9. Community made a game of it in the first half. I was impress with the way their O-line played and they were able to move the ball on the ground but they continually shot themselves in the foot. Cascade was the better team but I think they were a little surprised at how hard the Community boys wanted to win this one... (although I don't know why they were surprised). Anyway, Cascade came back after the half and pretty much dominated the second half.
  10. I'm not faulting anybody, just asking the question. What's the problem at Community? Sounds like you have an option. I am sure that given time the Community program will make a name for it's self. In the mean time just hang in there and support the team.
  11. Last year Community football looked like they might have turned the corner. They won some games and they were completive in most games. I thought I was beginning to see that spark that Community has always had in baseball and basketball. I know, it takes a while to build a football program and you have your ups and downs, 2 steps forward and 1 step back, etc. It all started with community support and youth programs. It takes some support from the parents and some dads willing to give the time to help the kids learn the game at an early age. So what's the problem ?
  12. We are just a little intimidated by the big boys in 3A-4A. We don't want to talk until we have something to say... and after last night, we are about ready to make a statement.
  13. Watching this game with interest... Cascade takes on Spring Hill next week... Cascade moved up to 3A this year... we are competing in 12AA... should be an interesting year...
  14. Better check your schedule Mike... My bad... you are right (I should have known better than to question you on this since you are doing the play by play) Cascade looked really good at Watertown last Friday... they have a lot more weapons than they did last year. Rose will still get his carries but this year there are other people who can and will break a long one while the other team is watching Rose. The QB can run and pass the ball. Cascade should win this one... but after what Forrest did to Collinwood I'm thinking a closer game than expected.
  15. Typical Kenny... keeping it low key... good interview. Looking forward to Cascade in 3A.
  16. Moore Co. had a good team and the QB is really good. They have gotten lots of holding calls all year and that will be their downfall eventually. You can block your opponent and you can grab a hand full of shirt and not get caught as long as you keep your hands inside the shoulder pads... but when your opponent rolls off your block and you are still hold on to that shirt the flags are gona' fly. Moore Co. probably has gotten more holding penalties than any 1A team playing the game this year. They have been good enough to overcome those penalties so far but the competition is getting better and those holding calls will send home sooner or later.
  17. The word I'm hearing is that Rose will be ready to go Friday night. Looks like we might be in for some rain... put on your mud boots and bring it on. This should be a good game even if it does rain. The Eagles have had their up's and down's this year and have been hurt by lots injuries. Cascade has been hit with injuries also and is very young, starting a lot of sophomores and freshmen. I think Cascade would like to send the seniors out with a win. This game will be decided in the trenches, where most are. The team that controls the line of scrimmage wins the game.
  18. Moore Co should win this one. They have a very good QB who is not real fast but he is quick and I'll take quick over fast anytime. Forrest stacked the box against Cascade last week and stopped run but left the pass wide open. I think MC's QB can take advantage of that. A couple of pass completions and a sweep or two and Forrest's defense will fall apart. Moore Co. by 21.
  19. I will be very surprised if Rose plays Friday night. He would be alright as a decoy but he wants the ball on every play and he could end a very bright football career if he doesn't get time to mend. I hope he doesn't play, for his sake. It changes the entire game with Rose on the sideline. If he is on the field they know who's getting the ball but take him out and there are several options.
  20. Rose played very little and probably shouldn't have played at all. He was in pain and may have made his injury worse. Forrest stacked the box all night and Cascade had trouble running the ball. Cascade did complete several passes. Cascade blocked an extra point early in the game that gave them a one point lead... Forrest went up by two scores and then Cascade mounted a comeback late in the game and tied the score at 27 all and Cascade missed the extra point putting the game in overtime. Cascade got the ball first and couldn't score then Forrest pushed the ball into the endzone for the score and the win.
  21. Yes, I've been watching and hoping that we would make it under the line. It's not certain yet but we will probably go to 3A. We've got a good school at Cascade and it looks like everybody wants to go there. It's the price of success. I think we will still play most of the same schools that we play now. I can't see us not playing Jo Byrns, Moore Co., Forrest or Community but we could easily drop Mt Pleasant, Wayne Co, Huntland... I'm just guessing. I have no Idea what our schedule would look like.
  22. Does anyone from Forrest post on CoachT any more? I really miss LTR !!!
  23. Rose has is a special kid and it is not hard to see why he has gotten most of the carries this year but you are right, there several young guys who can run the ball and Smith did a good job last week after Rose got hurt. The Band will be in good form Friday night, as usual.
  24. I hear that he is questionable for Friday's game... don't know the details... It will be a different game if he can't play, but the Smith kid came in after Rose went down Friday night and moved the ball pretty well.
