  1. Bradley house sold a while ago. Currently living with a former player's family.
  2. Where does USJ turn with Bradley's departure? How bad are things out there that he felt he needed to leave after one year?
  3. Circling back around. Rumor is Bradley will be in Knoxville this weekend to meet with Grace administration.
  4. My source tells me an email was sent to select GCA families letting them know a hire was made, who the candidate chosen was, but asking them to "keep it on the down low" until the hire was made official.
  5. Congratulations to Grace on getting their guy. Heard it's taken so long because the wife isn't sold on the move but hopefully she'll come around soon. East Tennessee is a great place to live.
  6. Things must be really bad for Bradley to be pursuing options to leave after one season. I think USJ supporters could give us better insight into what year one under CRB was like.
  7. It's going to be USJ's Bradley from all I'm hearing.
  8. I'm sure there are several candidates for the position. Coach Brewster was mentioned earlier, but he's indicated to me that he's very comfortable and happy in his current position. He's a guy that loves the players and they love playing for him. Also, we've got Coach Kareken remaining on staff. Some may not have heard about Coach K on the HS level, but he won a Championship as the MS HC before moving up to the HS squad. He will be a HC at the HS level in the near future. Both of those guys are as solid as they come and will provide a great foundation for whoever the next HC is. Will be surprised if Brewster and Kareken stick around, especially after Brewster was told he wasn't a finalist for the HC job.
  9. There's some talk about Rusty Bradley being a finalist for the Grace job. Would be surprising since he had so much success in year one at USJ but never say never.
  10. 2008 (S. Thompson's senior year) was the best Alcoa D according to Alcoa people I've spoken to.
  11. As a CAK watcher, couldn't agree more. One thing I don't think many have mentioned on this board is the fantastic job the offense has done this season. No returning starting receivers, 0 capable traditional running backs on the roster, and an offensive line that was/is a huge question mark week in and week out, the offensive staff has done a remarkable job. Too many of the football games won by the Warriors were shootouts, the defense definitely has been lacking this year, but proud of the Warrior offense for losing CRB and still being as productive as they have been without the traditional weapons CAK is used to.
  12. 2 horse race. CPA-CAK Part III
  13. Again, with all due respect to the former coaching staff who accomplished great things... I think internal evaluation was never a highly regarded skill set. Let's be completely honest. Anyone who saw the 2011-12 teams should know this... We had no business losing ANY of the 30 games we played those 2 seasons. The fact that the Alcoa games were close was, in hindsight, a disappointment... The 2011 Alcoa team lost 5 games that season! Getting to watch the 2013 season was also a disaster. Quarterback situation aside, that team had a ton of talent on it and came away with 4 wins. Lastly, the Belfry games always were very disappointing as well. I get they were eventual Kentucky state champs and I didn't get to make the drive to Kentucky but was able to watch on the Warrior Network. We made it in the red zone 5 times and came away with 0 TDs, and we were in position to win the 2013 game at home. All in all, watching the former staff's offensive system was awesome. The pieces always fit in the right place and the attention to detail was remarkable. I'll never be convinced that we simply outcoached everyone with a bunch of average kids though. We have had some stud football players come through the last 10ish years, and will continue to have stud players (have you seen our freshmen and sophomores?). Hopefully Coach Mozingo and staff will be able to rise to the occasion when the situation calls for it!
  14. I find this to be a really interesting statement. I've always found CAK to have more talented kids than just about anyone we've played (outside of Alcoa who, not surprisingly, we struggle against). Don't mean this as a shot to the former staff, but I've actually been on the opposite side of your thought process, being disappointed in losing games to teams that had lesser talent than we appeared to have. Just my 2 cents.
  15. I think the question was who was officially planning to move, not who is eligible.... Have all, or any, of these teams declared their intent to move?
  16. Congrats to new coach Trevor Mozingo! He is the strength coach and defensive coordinator at Mount Paran in Kennesaw, GA. The players will be a lot tougher under him than the previous coach, which will be a welcomed change for many.
  17. Can any insiders comment on the guy from Texas who put his name in the hat this week? I've heard he's a guy that CAK can't pass up on and has caused the process to slow down...
  18. I'll bite Johnny. Why am I an idiot? Is it because after watching Alcoa football for years, I've come to the conclusion that stylistically, the coaches there would not succeed at a place like CAK? Or is it because I called out a dad who is throwing names of candidates out like he's sitting by the fax machine in the CAK athletic office? Let's agree on one thing, CAK will make a great hire, I just pray that it's not any of the "candidates" you've named off in this here thread...
  19. There is no chance that CAK would hire Rankin, Nix, or any of the Alcoa assistants. Great coaches, but maybe don't exactly run the type of program that is desired by administration. I would take at least 2 of the assistants on CAK's staff before I would want any of the Alcoa coaches. Take everything Tony Dalton/Warriors2011 says with a grain of salt. I'm not sure he has the type of insight he wants everyone to believe
  20. Team A: 75 points, 8 shutouts Team B: 104 points, 5 shutouts Team B is this season's Alcoa defense. Team A is the 2008 Alcoa defense. This year's defense accomplished great things, but the 08 defense is still the best Alcoa has had.
