Dave Rhodes, Superintendent of Perry County Schools, former coach and player at Perry County as well, passed away Thursday morning. Probably the best player at Perry County who did not lead his team to a state championship, he did coach them to two in the 70's before moving into the superintendent job.
have to say Trousdale till some one knocks them off..The teams with the best shot at that would have to be, Mt. Pleasant, Jo Byrns, McKenzie, Union City, JCS, Hampton or Coalfield I think, not necessarily in that order
hmmm, if they had been able to start playing earlier, I think Clay Pope and John Marrs would have developed into outstanding players, they were very good for the little time that they got to play the game...Might add Joey Depriest to the list too (sorry I might be a little biased on him though lol)
yeah 55 was the MLB/OT, 70 was the other OT but could play anywhere on the line, 40 and 20 the two fullbacks and 40 was also a good OLB and 20 played DE
we were a pretty young team this year, only 8 seniors and not all of them started. Losing several good ones though, 55, 40, 70,& 20 moving on will hurt
but LC has got the vast majority of their team back from last year, another year of experience and might have learned their lesson on the big talking from last year.
Last I heard was Loretto, but don't hold me to that. You folks are definitely the best team in the state to not make the playoffs this year, we had 5 very good teams in the region this year and someone had to be the odd man out, sorry it was you folks.
