  1. i remember a few years ago not long after Perry Co got their football program started,, i was helping with the jr pro and Summertown talked to some people here about getting started, glad to see they are really doing it finally, They always have some athletes there and i think donw the road they should be able to compete with the rest of the district
  2. what everyone from Perry Co on here should do is quit running their traps on here and lets the boys show everyone else they play from now on that thay are still a force to be reconded with
  3. LC did help us out a lot when we started fb back up again here,,and we appreciate it,,and i'm sure Coach Sharp is happy to see us keep it up and starting to have some success,,,been a while since we've played them at the HS level,,hard to do when they shoved us across the river with the private schools so long,,glad to be back over here playing the teams we play in other sports for sure,,good luck to both teams Friday night,,wish i could go
  4. lord i haven't posted in a long time,,,i went to Lewis Co,,,but i live in PC now,,,my step son played for PC,,both bunches can run their traps pretty well still i see,,just shut up and let them play,,,i think Hohenwald will be surprised how much we've improved since you used to kick our tails regularly when we first got started,,,
  5. There was another character around back then as well but I can't remember his screen name. was it Festus?
  6. I think it is because McEwen was an automatic qualifier and the wood and C'ville are wild cards..but I could be wrong, who knows with the T$$AA
  7. great line,,this is one big mess,,glad my kid isn't playing anymore
  8. Forrest was the only full ride, Brad & Calvin got partials at Bethel, Joey got a partial at North Alabama
  9. I know we paid a few of the HS kids to work at the concession stand the last couple of years, no band so that doesn't help with the ticket booth, but the girls at the HS office usually take care of that. not sure who is on the chain gang now, my work schedule changed so I work Friday nights now. we had a good core come up from the start of the Jr Pro program, the Skeltons, us, the Trulls, Snuffy...but all our kids are gone now
  10. You probably know who I am viking fan, till this last season, my wife and I did a lot for the program at PC(concession stand, chain gang, helped coach the junior pro for a while, carried equipment to the away games)..ok I gave it away lol. It has always been hard to get folks to help, everyone wants to watch their child play of course, you just have to get a good core of folks and welcome any help you get at all from anyone else..
  11. think Texas' shade of orange with a dark blue...seems like a good combo to me
  12. good advise, they will twist and turn everything you say
  13. and who says he didn't. the five years he was here, we saw a vast improvment in the football team every year...maybe not on the scoreboard every year, but we grew from an after thought here, to something that folks looked forward to seeing and felt that we would be in every game...he left cause he wanted to coach his boys at Waynesboro, but he left us a great replacement in Coach Bradley, who I think will do a great job and our program will continue in its move upward to being a very competative program year in and year out
  14. I helped coach the Jr Pro here in PC for a few years , and we do seem to keep a lot of them going on up to the middle and High school level. The 2006 class turned out a little light, but the classes before and after both had a lot of them play all the way through
  15. Great, a renewal of an old rivalry from my HS days, remember when the winner of that game was always the winner of that district, back in the late 70's/ early 80's before Lewis Co. moved up to AA...should be a great game.
  16. we got as many athletes as any one else of about our size, on average year in and year out, But TC's coaching sticking around for year after year, and just the tradition that everyone wants to play football is the only difference I see, We haven't been around long enough for some home grown coaches to come back in yet By the way, glad you got rid of Alfred lol
  17. well, I don't know about TC in the two other sports, but PC's football is a young program just finished up it's 10th year as a sport in the school, last 6 years under almost the same staff,(Rick Rice the first 5, then Bronson Bradey this last season, but he was an asst under Rice the whole time he was here) Improving every year. Coaching continuity, Baseball...well no comment lol
  18. And Trousdale is not unique in being a county with one school at all, , can think of several, Perry, Lewis, Houston, Stewart, Moore, Lake, Decatur, ...that is just the ones in 1 or 2A that I can think of in middle and west TN. so that is not the reason Trousdale is so good at football, those schools all run the gamut from good to weak in football. Stability in the coaching staff and support of the community seems to be the reasons in my book. And football is probably harder to keep up at that sort of level
  19. well TC is not the only county in the state that has just one HS, Perry Co I know is one, and while they are not a football power, They have been known to win a few Basketball games here and there. Like someone here said, Trousdale in football and Perry in Basketball have built up a big tradition in the sports that they seem to be good at. Tradition and good coaching that stays for a while is the key to a sucessful program at this level, when getting players from a bigger area is not an option. My ears must have been burning VG lol
  20. true Stan, seems like I remember, Huntingdon or someone along that line having an ad during the state championship games a couple of years ago....may not have been Huntingdon, but that was the first name that popped into my head,
  21. So does Perry County and Wayne County too, though WC does use a county built(I think) facility for the baseball and softball now, so the old baseball field at the school is out of use now
  22. you are exactly right Laz on DL and GP hitting each other early in the playoffs...in fact it would have been the quarters at the lastest as they were in the same region
