  1. This was a bloodbath...McCallie just boatraced Baylor 42-7. Didn't see that coming. GBB!
  2. Fiancee is a Mountain City girl, so I'm gonna have to say Longhorns. 28-21
  3. In DII play, McCallie has gone 1-10 against MBA I believe (including playoff games)? They've just seemed to have our number in years past, the only exception being McCallie's 2001 championship season. This year however, I think McCallie posts their second DII victory over MBA by at least two touchdowns.
  4. I say keep it the Super Seven...doesn't the Big 10 have 11 teams? ...and there will always be a team that cant compete with the rest
  5. I was on the freshman football team with Matt Keaton at McCallie...I'd forgotten that guy. Good athlete, played fullback if I remember, but Campbell Thomas ended up better. What'd he end up playing at Ooltewah?
  6. Hey man, pass it over...you cant keep stuff that good to yourself. (PS- next time, be sure to include the team that beat your number 3 team)
  7. Caldwell got hurt? What happened?
  8. Tell us how you really feel, RebelRaider...no, really, dont hold back
  9. With the MBA loss tonight, what are the possibilities for seeding? I assume MBA, MUS, or McCallie will get the top spot, but how?
  10. Maryville is danged good, but I dont think that you would expect a score like this if they played again. Not that it couldn't happen again, but I think Central got hit in the mouth early and instead of bouncing back, they just stayed on their backsides. Maryville takes this game almost every time, but the performance tonight was something special.
  11. Good, old fanshioned trip to the woodshed. Congrats Rebels, that's quite a performance.
  12. I honestly think that it had more to do with the Baylor game last week. Since I was a student at McCallie, we've always come out flat following the Baylor game. So much energy is put into that game by everyone, players, coaches, fans, that it is hard to get up for the game that follows. I said it would happen earlier this week on a thread and it did. Luckily McCallie was able to get it together in the second half. (That said, I'm sure the CBHS loss to Ryan didn't help McCallie's phyche either)
  13. Christian Bros went into halftime with a 14-6 lead but the Tornadoes came out fighting and scored 24 unanswered points for a 30-14 victory. Congrats McCallie!
  14. I know what Potter will say, and he's right, but a coach can only do so much. It is ultimately up to the athletes whether or not they come to play or they come with their minds not fully on the game. Its a team sport, and it only takes one to bust a play. This said, I think McCallie will win, but I think it will be very close.
  15. I know that when I was at McCallie, the team always seemed to come out flat in their game after the McCallie/Baylor matchup...hope that's not the case this year.
  16. You say Central isn't as good this year as they were last year, and imply they would have taken McCallie last year...but didn't McCallie play them up in Knoxville and beat them last year? That's what I thought, correct me if I'm wrong.
  17. Exactly...there isn't a cure for stupid
  18. godawgsblue, McCallie grad/UGA student?
  19. Actually, I'm not too good to attend a public school, I'm attending one at the moment, and I wish that the private schools had never been separated from the public schools. As I said, you are entitled to your opinion, I just dont think that it is logical. Your opinion bothers me because I feel as though you are slighting the private schools, insulting them in a way; however, the fact that you hold that opinion does not bother me because it is a free country...you can hold whatever opinion you want and it doesn't matter if it bothers me or not. I can disagree with you and be vehement about my own opinion, but that doesn't mean I dont respect your right to your own. We disagree, and I thought the point of this board was discussion of different opinions.
  20. What are you so bitter about? All I'm saying is that you should learn something about these schools before you fire off at the mouth. You obviously know nothing about them, but persist in make sweeping statements that make you sound foolish. Not a very convinving way to support your argument...perhaps that because they cant be supported?
  21. You can obviously hold whatever opinion you want, but whether you count them or not, McCallie is an east tennessee team. That's a fact, period, case closed, end of discussion. They've been on Missionary Ridge in Chattanooga since being founded in 1905...i dont think they are going to pick up and move...actually, i can guarentee that they will never move. A majority of McCallie's students are day students, not boarders, and despite what you may think, many people in Chattanooga love that school, and to say that they dont play for their community is ridiculous, misinformed, and ignorant. It's your poll, you can put all 1A teams on it, but I just find it odd that you dont think a private school team "counts". It's a team of high school kids, at a school that has as much tradition with its city as any public school around. They are in their own clasification because they are a private school...they dont take state championships away from public schools, so please dont insult them further by pretending that they dont exist. Like it or not, McCallie would compete well with the teams on your list and they deserve to be there.
  22. The thread said top teams in east tenn, not top DI teams...so I'd say that adding mccallie is a must. Also, I agree with the comment about Soddy. At the moment, i dont think you can say that Ooltewah OR mccallie are better than they are.
  23. CYJacket...its an ok system, except for the fact that you leave out Div. II...sorry, but if you want to talk about the best teams, that includes DI and DII
