If that happened they probably would have the championship game at Meigs.
Anything can happen but from the way Marion is playing I don't see them getting past the 1st round.
Biggest game in District 4 this Friday night: Polk Co vs CSAS.
Will try to make this one; winner will be #3 seed(for the time being).
Should be a good one!!
Any of the 4 teams in Dist.4 is capable of winning the championship. Polk and Tyner split; CSAS and Polk was a 5 point game; Polk and Brainerd was 5 points; Brainerd and Tyner had to win in Overtime against CSAS!!
It's going to be intriguing (to say the least).
That's why I like the District tournaments. It gives teams an opportunity to redeem themselves and sometimes they change the entire Region playoff matchups!
Still a lot of basketball to be played and seeds to be determined, but since I had a little time on my hands I decided to do some predictions concerning Region 2.
If the current standings held up and the teams finished the district tournament as they are today, the Region 2 match-ups would be:
Tyner vs McMinn Central
Meigs vs Polk Co.
Sweetwater vs CSAS
Brainerd vs Kingston
I know it's too early but just some food for thought!!
Don't know what team I was looking at tonight, but can't take anything away from Polk. We played Polk's game and got beat in Overtime!
Can't dwell on it too long because CSAS is coming Friday. District tournament will be a toss-up!!
Tyner will have 2 tough games next week. @ Polk County on Tuesday and CSAS on Friday. After playing these, half of our district games will be complete, however a long season will still be ahead! Like I said previously, I pray all of the teams can stay healthy.
@t-mac you are right...Howard does have a very good team. Don't know what happened to them last night against Notre Dame but I was expecting a better game. The Coach pulled the starters after the 3rd quarter. They should do well in AAA.
I was there last night and couldn't believe my eyes. LFO girls are the best Girls team to participate in the Best of Preps (and I've been attending a long time).
Tennessee better be glad they are on the other side of the border because those young ladies are talented and tough.
I was really impressed by their endurance and depth!!
Just completed our holiday tournaments/non-district schedule and after beating Howard and losing to McCallie by 5 points, I believe we are ready for anyone in District 3 or 4. If we stay healthy, we will go deep into the playoffs!!
A team to watch in D-4 is Polk County. They lost to Brainerd by 2, and lost to CSAS & Tyner by 5! I saw that they beat Meigs in November. Polk will be a team that will surprise folk in the District and Region!!
District 4, the teams should be: Tyner, CSAS, Brainerd, & Polk Co. I just hope and pray that this pandemic does not affect the coming season as it had done in the past!!
Howard beat Cleveland last Friday (12/10) by 1 point @ Howard. Should be a competitive district.
Tyner plays @ Cleveland this Friday (12/17). It should be a good non-conference game for both teams!!
