those guy like Swearingen, second baseman Rusty Chambers and shortstop Chad Lewis can really play the game for Class A. Unaka is the real deal in Class A now that basketball is over.

to the Unaka rangers. this was the most awesome display of basketball that i have seen in a long time. tyler mccann you played man great and so did you cody collins in the last game. rusty chambers, you looked like jason kidd passing the ball with them no lookers and behind the back jobs. and with that new hair cut you favor him. i have never seen such unselfish play out of a team. and the passing was better than college level. defense was bad. you dogs got down in the burro. gold ball, you all be proud man.

the refs didn't seem to bother Unaka last night. they pressed all night long.

it had been held at lmu and milligan college on a rotating basis each year. never has it been held on a home teams floor. i would be willing to bet that this will be the last year that you will see this. tssaa is getting ready to get flooded with letters and phone calls on this matter. i agree the goals are 10 feet and the floor the same length. yes the games have to be played. but the distance and time of travel is too long. the roads are unsafe and some kids have gotten sick having to travel on the crooked roads. it should be held in Greeneville somewhere with motels and restaurants where fans and players can eat and stay overnight.

it is not fair for the reg. 1A tournament to be held at hancock county high school. the games should be played at a neutral site. it is a very dangerous road getting there and no one should get to play every game from the district tournament all the way through sub-state at home. tssaa should have stepped in and stopped this situation. the sub-state is a reward for the team that wins the regional. but to play every game at home is crazy. i felt sorry for Cloudland last night. they traveled over 3 hours by bus and had to play a team in their back yard. hancock county could wind up playing every tournament game at home without ever having to leave to advance to the state. face it tssaa, your system of fair play has failed you this time.

that's like the pot calling the kettle black. it didn't help matter that your fans where cheering for uh during the boys games. and at milligan the language that was directed toward coach ensor and rusty was downright degrading. yes, its a shame that both schools can't pull for one another but there is two sides to every story. some Unaka fans were pulling for the highlanders to win both games.

believe it or not realdeal you don't won't to go into Unaka or Cloudland to play. its like playing in a barn with two goals and glass backboards. the gyms are packed and they crowd will humilate you before you leave. i have seen all of you play and Cloudland and Unaka would be a nightmare for you at their place. not bashing your team just stating the facts. good luck

Who are both teams missing and would they make a difference?

I don't want to get into this discussion other than 6'6 Tolley did not play against South Greene at South Greene in their 10-point loss. I have seen both South Greene and Volunteer play and Volunteer should win if they play to their potential. Could Cloudland and Unaka compete in the Watauga. yes. Let's leave it that all the teams mentioned are quality basketball teams. "End of Discussion"

if unaka high gets jeff peters, adam colbaugh and drew chambers in a few years that could be one of the best pitching staffs to ever play high school. that creek has got to run dry sometime. no wonder a c loves to coach baseball.

sorry abe but you got to look at other factors. burns for ng had 28 will he be mvp no jc press guy had chambers with 17 points, 10 reb. 6 offensive 3 steals, 8 assist 11-12 from foul line a complete floor game. if Unaka wins and he plays that way again mvp byrd had nine, 6 steals caused 4 tovers on walks 9 assist could be their is more to the game than just scoring. abe you got to realize tolley is good but you take byrd off the floor and they would struggle. he makes teams play honest with his penetration, and abliity to see the floor. ng double teamed chambers all night with one in the front and one behind them but he sees the floor so well he killed them with his passing. i don't have anyone playing on eithe team nor am i a player just a basketball junkie who loves to watch good basketball. but in my opinion chambers is the mvp based on overall game while byrd would be my second pick. robbie is a great player but mark is the little general on the floor.
