  1. Why does coacht.com have on the scoreboard Boyd Buchanan winning 31 to 24 ?
  2. I just figured something out. Shelbyville is NEVER suppose to lose. So, no wonder when they do lose their fans, such as flem, have a cow. All I've heard is they (Shelbyville) played without their best player. And if they "some how" make it back to Murphy Center they'll be a force. My question is did they lose to Smyrna without this same player and did they come within a whisker of losing to Jackson County without this same player??? WAKE UP and smell the COFFEE ! ! ! ! Shelbyille is not on the level of the UPPER LEVEL teams like Mt. Juliet, Wilson Central, or Smyrna. ALL District 9-AAA teams. And from what I've heard Columbia is going to be a load this year. And Cookeville, Riverdale, and Oakland look very good this year in District 7-AAA So with that said where does that leave Shelbyville in Region 4-AAA. I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose the opening round game. I know its early but all I've heard is Shelbyville is goin be a force.... Maybe in the past but this is the present and I just don't see it.
  3. YEAH flem I've been wondering that myself .... WHY are u so defensive. Just because your team gets drilled in their own gym you are telling us not to get excited that the season is like a horse race. Well its apparent to me if thats the case Mt. Juliet is Seabiscuit and Shelbyville is a Tennesse walker. All that talk about how Shelbyville started underclassmen like freshman and sophomores.... BIG DEAL. Mt. Juliet starters have been starting for THREE YEARS now. Three years ago when clark and gibson were sophomores the other 3 were freshman. This is the year for the Bears to make their STATEMENT. AND BY THE WAY to answer your comment to my remark..... Shelbyville did win the STATE last year but lets not forget Clark was injured with a month left to go in the season. And when she did try to come back she was nowhere near the player she was. In the long run that may help the Bears this year. Playing without Clark last year got them some valuable experience that may pay off this year.
  4. Fryer is starting the same 5 he stared last year. Gibson, Hudson, Pigue, Clark and McFarlin. Van Atta is actually one of the first reserves to come in the game. She had 9 against Shelbyville. I was wondering if the 23 point loss was the worst for Insell in the Grill. Anybody know?
  5. Gee marlow I'm glad you think that Mt. Juliet only played a "B" game. If thats the case I'd hate to be the opponent when they play a "A" game. Next Tuesday, Dec. 7 Smyrna comes to Mt. Juliet. The two teams that put 2 L's on Shelbyville's record. District 9-AAA is shaping up as possiblity the strongest district in the state. Wilson Central plays at Mt. Juliet Jan. 14 and the Bears travel to Wilson Central Feb. 8. GET YOUR TICKETS EARLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In my opinion the TOP 2 teams in the STATE
  6. HECK YEAH WE MT JULIET FANS ARE GOING NUTS OVER A 23 point WIN AND don't forget Mt. Juliet beat Shelbyville last year and Shelbyville was at full strength before Fuller got hurt. You sound a little like sour grapes flem.... If you read my post I said I could never have invisioned winning by 23 points. I said we'd win by 10 plus and you said "NO WAY" I think you need to give Mt. Juliet credit. They were without question the better team. Shelbyville is young and they will get better but from what I've seen in your region you're going to be hard pressed to get back to state this year. AND yes you did hold Clark to 9 points. Because Insell decided to double down low on Clark and leave Gibson open head of the key. It's all how you want to take your poision. Rick decided he'd let Gibson beat him and she did just that with 32 points. I think the Mt. Juliet fans have every right to be excited about winning this game. If nothing else it sent a message and I think the message was LOUD AND CLEAR. I give Shelbyville credit for their tradition and history BUT this NITE belongs to the BEARS.........
  7. Gibson had 32 points to lead Mt. Juliet. She had 5 3 pointers. AND from what the announcers said Shelbbyville left her open to shoot the entire game. I guess they wanted to pack the zone in on Clark and McFarlin. I think Clark scored around 10 points. Mt. Juliet lead the entire game and never trailed.
  8. Congraluations on almost picking the score perfect
  9. KC is the first one off the bench the games I have seen. She played well against Shelbyville tonite. I think she is going to give the Bears more bench strength.
  10. This has to be one of the MOST important victories in the history of Mt. Juliet girls basketball. I know Shelbyville is down but to go in to Ricks Grill and win by 23 this is more than I could have invisioned. This is goint to be a GREAT season for the BEARS. There are still TOUGH games ahead with Wilson Central and Smyrna in the district. BUT hopefully this will BE OUR YEAR. WAY TO GO BEARS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. FINAL SCORE Mt. Juliet 66 Shelbyville 43 WAY TO GO BEARS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. 4:15 to go in 4th quarter Mt Juliet 61 Shelbyville 38 I think this could be the worse home loss for Shelbyville in memory
  13. Mt. Juliet 48 Shelbyville 31 end of 3rd quarter
  14. I've been following Mt Juliet girls basketball for 30 plus years. This without question the BEST TEAM they've ever put on the floor. I saw them play 3 games in the Hunters Lane tournament and I know the competition was Pearl-Cohn, Whites Creek and Hunters Lane but the margins was 60, 50, and 43 points. And Hunters Lane really wasn't that bad I thought. Tonight is the night we find out HOW GOOD Mt Juliet is. Shelbyville is down. You just don't lose the players they did off last years team and not have a drop off. BUT they are Shelbyville and they have good players and a legend coaching them. I think the Bears will be sky high for this game and I really look for them to win by 10 plus points. Funny we haven't heard from showtime. I'd like to hear what he thinks. GO BEARS ! ! ! ! ! ! !
  15. Mt Juliet is LOADED this year. They have 5 three year starters returning. If Clark stays healthy the SKY is the limit. There biggest competition comes from Wilson Central whom I believe is the SECOND best team in the STATE this year. I hate to bring this up again but if Wilson Central had not opened 4 of the starters would be at Mt. Juliet. The District 9-AAA Tournament I have heard is at Wilson Central this year along with the Region 5-AAA Tournament. I've been following Mt Juliet basketball for 30 plus years and this is without a doubt the best team they've put on the floor.
  16. How did the play day go at Shelbyville go. I saw where MJ won 3 games.
  17. 1. Mt. Juliet 2. Wilson Central 3. Craigmont 4. Greeneville 5. Columbia 6. Heritage 7. Jackson North Side 8. Smyrna 9. White Co. 10. Oak Ridge And YES I am leaving Shelbyville out of the Top 10. They lost too much off last years team. Sure they have a great program but I don't see them being a major force this year. I look for Mt. Juliet and Wilson Central to play FIVE TIMES this season with the FINAL meeting being in the State Championship Game in Murfreesboro. WOW !!!! just think how strong MJ could have been if Wilson Central had not opened..... Can you say UNBEATABLE..... pretty close to it.
  18. Belmont got themselves a GREAT player in Alysha. I'm glad she's got that out of the way and can concentrate on the upcomming season. This is going to be a AWESOME season for the Lady Bears. With basically the entrie team returning the sky is the limit. In all my years of following MJ Basketball this is the "strongiest" team I have seen them put on the floor. GO BEARS and see you in Murfreesboro in March
  19. I remember when Watson and Mack Brown played back in the late 60's. It was Watson's senior year and I thought that Cookeville went (11-0) that year. I believe it was 1967. Back then before the play-offs I believe Cookeville was maybe rated Number 1 in the final AP Poll.
  20. HALF TIME SCORE Cookevile 13 Lebanon 0
  21. Hey its Smyrna what else would you expect but " LACK OF CLASS " I've been observing them for years and nothing surprises me that their fans do. When they win they win WITHOUT CLASS. Its ashame the players on the team have fans like that. nough said.
  22. Well first of all let me say that I've been going to the Girls State Tournament since 1965. Guess that tells my age.... LOL I remember those years in the old alumi gym and the years in Jackson. I love having the tournament at MTSU. One thing is convience. Only a 30 min. drive for me. I have over the past 10-15 years been getting more and more aggravated at the TSSAA officials. One thing I remember those years when you could pay for a parking pass and park close to the gym and everything else was first come first serve. NOW they're charging 5 bucks to PARK...... give me a break, this is a RIPOFF. You park almost a mile from the gym and pay for it. Thats the TSSAA digging us for more $$$. I remember in the past when they tried to sell the lower level seats as RESERVED only and that didn't work so then they decided to allow all the lower level as general addmission till the championship games on sat. They announced in the paper that ALL seats were general addmission and then when I sit down behind the team benches this usher comes up and asks me "Where's your pass" I said here's my ticket stub and he runs me off because I don't have a green pass. WELL I don't have a problem IF they're going to have a SECTION RESERVED... MY BEEF is why didn't they have it roped off or in some way so people would know its RESERVED. Save alot of people the trouble of sitting down and then a usher having to run all over the place. The concession prices were TOTALLY RIDICIULUS... MIGHT as well get ready to be robbed if you want something. $2 and $3 for a soft drink... HECK I can go get a 2 Liter Coke at Kroger for 99 cents. I can understand they don't want to give it away BUT at least BE REASONABLE. AND finally my last complaint. I used to park across from the tennis courts at the funeral home on the corner. Its owned by MTSU now and they made a parking lot out of it. WELL, I parked there thur, fri and sat of the girls tournament and didn't once have to pay. Then I went to the BOYS Tournament yesterday (friday) and some guy was blocking the enterance and wanted $5.75 to park there.... What was the deal with this. They didn't charge to park there during the Girls Tournament and did during the boys. Sounds like someone was trying to make a little profit off the top. Well, I told the guy no thanks and went down and parked across from the dorms and walked to the gym. MY BIGGEST PROBLEM IS..... I think its ROPPERY to charge people to park on STATE OWNED PROPERTY. We are tax payers and we should NOT be asked to pay for the priviledge to park on STATE property. I know Mr. Carter is a money hungry man. I think he has too many people hired out on his staff and this is one of the ways he finds to make $$$ to pay them. For once I agree with flemstone on his statements he made about the officials at the Tournament. I know you have to have rules but some of them are so petty and ticky tack..... thats all I've got to say. Guess there's nothing we can do about it. I'll be back next year and after its over be saying the same thing again... Well, the season has come to an end. My team fell short this year and I'm in hopes next year WILL be OUR YEAR.... till then, Peace everyone and have a great summer.
  23. My opinion.... Greeneville was the only team that had a chance and unfournately the zebras took the chance away from them. Greeneville deserved better than they got. Everytime White brought the ball up court she was mugged. I thought hand checking was illegal. The technical foul on Manuel was an awful call. This gets ridiculous. Shelbyville can hand check and slap at the ball and push and shove and their opponent gets called for picky fouls... Go figure that one
  24. This is what I've been saying for years Shelbyville recruits players
