Doc wont hold the ball unless the opposing team is playing a zone. As long as you play pressure man he will keep the game going. They will knock down free throws. They wont miss too many and if they do it is not going to be any of their guards. Teams dont press because they have one of the best point guards in the state. Johnny Lee is very smart and you will seldomly see him get a turnover. BUt Juggalo they do have a lot of athletes. Out of all the people they play they can sub and they arent losing anything on the court. BUt Johnny Lee is the key. He will take all of their big shots. And although he doesnt always score much he will find the open man for the easy two. He penetrates and dishes, shots the three and breaks down the person guarding him. If you can keep Lee from being fully invovled in the offense you will win. But thats a hard thing to do. MLK is not going to only score 39 points in a game where the other team plays man to man defense. That only score that low of a score when teams play zone. THey hate playing against zones because then Lee wont be able to do as much if he had a man guarding him. As much as I hate to say this i think MLK will probably win by more than 10

I hope we can stop Johnny Lee. I dont think he can be stopped. Good players cant be stopped but they can be slowed down and i hope thats what we can do. And thanks 3gamer for saying all that stuff about me. I appreciate it. I meant no harm but i was just giving my opinion. But i guess some people just take it differently. I dont say i know more than the coaches i was just wondering why he switched if you thought he was doing such a great job. And i only play for myself means that i dont play to make you happy. Its not sayin i am a selfish player because i am far from that. Very far from that. I think you can ask anyone that has ever seen me play if i am a selfish player. I happen to like Coach Kington. We talk ever time we see each other. Im not tryin to tell him how to coach i was just askin you since you know all why he switched Brewer off of Lee. Hes the coach he can do wahtever he wants with his team. I have no problem with that. But that comment was to you not the coach. You sound like you know more than me and Coach Kington put together.

Not tryin to talk bad or nothin but i dont really care about how you feel about me. Im not playing basketball for you im playin for myself. And you didnt see me start a thread about him knocking down threes but you also didnt see me say well he didnt knock it down on me. I would tell you he pulled from feet behind the 3 point line and knocked it down in my face. I didnt guard him right and he made me pay. Thats what he is supposed to do. He is supposed to take advantage of the weakness presented and as of right then i wasnt guarding him right so he took advantage of me. Now as for us coming up short against Portland. I dont know where that one came from but we beat Portland every time we played them. They were very close games and down to the wire. And plus you get better as a team by discussing where you fall short so if i dont say anything it would just continue happening dont you think. Corey Brewer being an All American shows that he has strengths and he has many of them but he also has weaknesses. And by yall getting on here and overlooking his weaknesses doesnt not make him look good. But think about this->Basketball is not a one on one thing but it is a team game. If Lee drives past Brewer someones gonna have to pick up Lee which would leave someone else open and that is why Lee had some many dishes. Wouldnt that make sense to you? And you said that he could guard Lee if he had to doesnt that sound a lil funny. So are you saying he can guard him when he wants to. If that is what you are saying you need to think about that. Diss78 if Brewer was doing such a good job on Lee why did he switch off. that doesnt make sense to me. You are shutting somebody down and then for some reason you switch the defender that was doing a great job defending and allow someone else to guard them and let the person score. I am in no way upset with my team. we are having no problems i just see that we should be better than we are. I tell my team exactly what i think. If we are playing bad i will say we are playing bad. Im harder on my team than anyone can imagine because i know we should be better than what we are. Im always trying to improve. As a matter of fact im harder on myself than anything else because i realize that i dotn put forth the effort i should. I guess people on here just look at things different than i do. Im the kind of person that is never satisfied and if i get embarassed in some way i will be the first one to admit it. I am not basking Brewer in any way. He was getting abused by Johnny Lee and he is supposed to just like tennisguy said. He is a 6 foot 8 guard and Johnny is one of the quickest guards i have ever played against. Lee is supposed to be able to get passed him. I like Brewer and i will tell you that he was killin me in the post but he is supposed to hes 6 foot 8 and im 6 foot 1 130 pounds. Brewer is a great player and i would never bash him but i do give credit where credit is due and Friday Lee was abusing Brewer. Thats just how it is i say what i think and i point out the facts. Ill even admit that i have been abused by Johnny Lee a couple times miyself. I have no problem admitting when i get used but i guess that is the problem with all the other people commenting on here. Yall act like Brewer is perfect. You say that he doesnt do anything wrong just because he is going to Florida. that dont mean nothing. If you get abused setp up to the challenge. Dont try to find excuses why he couldnt guard Lee. "He had an off game." That has nothing to do with his defense. Just cause he didnt score how he usually does doesnt mean he doesnt have to play defense. But I hope we do meet again. I like being abused or used it gives me something to strive for next time. And you have never seen Brewer dunk on me and personally i dont think you will. If he tries im gonna jump with him. If he does dunk on me what can i say hes 7 inches taller than me. Wow! But i would be willing to step up to the challenge. But your not gonna see me getting on here crying about why i didnt have a good game or why i had an off shoting day. I accept it how it is. If i got shut down i got shut down. And another thing i would not want people to get on here and make excuses for me not playing good. We play at 5:30. And just to say it again im not disrespecting Brewer im just givign credit where credit is due. Brewer is still one of the best in the nation but i would be willing to play Portland any time and no matter what i would play as hard as i can.

PPride, you got to be kidding me. You have too much pride to admit that Johnny Lee was killing Brewer. If Brewer would have been guarding him the whole time i know he would have had 30. WHy do you think they switched Brewer off of him. He was making Brewer look like a fool. I remeber him hitting a 3 in brewers face and giving him the stare down and i was at the game watching closely. As a matter of fact Brewer almost went down a couple times. Brewer ended up with more points than Lee only because his team relies on him to shoot every time down court. He had 26 free throw attempts off non sense fouls. MLK was ahead why would they anything to resemble a foul but Brewer was just jumping into people and the refs made the calls in his favor. Lee outshined Brewer and i even think Brewer would admit it. It was obvious if you were at that game.

And also me and my team are not what Upperman is worried about right now. Although i would love to play Lance again the only way we would meet is if we were in the championship. And something for you to think about Devilfanatic I think you said you play for Jackson County. Well you need to be worried about 7AA girls teams and leave the boys alone. You have enough problems on your hands as it is. You cant handle all of the girls in your district.

So Devilfanatic you try to bring out the stats on the game huh? Well you are obviously going to lose this battle since i do play for the HUme Fogg Boys team. The HFA did not blow Upperman out of the water is because Upperman played great team defense. Thats what basketball is about teamwork. I know for a fact that Upperman players could not guard me one on one because im quicker than their players. But Im not playing one on one it is five on five so it is very easy to keep someone out of the lane. If i penetrate by the person guarding me the person helpside is going to help out and that is obvious. That is why we didnt win by more because Upperman was smart enough to have help side close by. So much for your point Devilfanatic. And another thing. Can anyone matchup against Mathis inside? HaHa. Obviously you didnt hear about how the game went down. Lance is my boy and we hang out all the time. But ask him how many he scored in the second half when a 6 foot 130 pound guard was guarding him in the post. Whenever my team learns how to play together as a team the whole game then we will be deadly. As of right now we are learning but we are not where we need to be in order to win. Sleep23 are you out of your mind. HFA gaurds are easily quicker than Upperman. I know that because i play for Hume Fogg and we have played Upperman. That is the craziest statement i have ever heard on coacht. You must not be a basketball player or if you are you have never seen the guards from Hume Fogg. BUt it shall be interesting to see how everything goes down.

Thats what i said. everybody in here is underestimating Hume Fogg. Smith County better play the best they ever have or they are going to catch the business first hand.

Whoever is saying that Portland will advance is out of their minds. Portland is not even close to being to the top of 8AA not to mention 8AA and 4AA. Are you crazy? Portland will get mopped with the floor. And what do you mean it will be an upset if Hume Fogg beats Lipscomb. HFA won today. I garuntee that HFA will advance and i am also going to say that HFA will be the only team from 8AA to advance into the second round of the region

ANd that was not right. There was no way that he was co MVP. That should not have happened. He deserved MVP by himself because he lead his team to vicotry. I know for a fact that he is the only reason they got past Hume Fogg and he is the only reason they beat Portland. I feel he was mistreated. Lee embarassed Brewer many times on the floor. He showed the All American up and he definitely deserved MVP by himself.

This should and will be an exciting game. I think i am staying to watch the game. The semifinals and finals should be very interesting because the top 4 teams are all going to be playing each other. Thursday and Friday might be the best tournament setups that i have ever been involved in. Portland definitely has the advantage but i think Lipscomb will be ready to try and shut it down. I wonder what Lipscomb has in store for Corey Brewer and what they plan on doing to slow him down.

No doubt about it im going with Hume Fogg. They cant be stopped right now especially behind the probable MVP of the district

I wouldnt exactly call it Brewer High but i could uinderstand why people call it that. He is the player on the team. If he doesnt play they dont win. He is such a good player that he overshadows all of his team. I know it is wrong to call it Brewer high and i know it discredits his team but think about it if you put any other player in 8AA on that team instead of him how many games would they win. They have a lot of great role players and they do exactly what they are supposed to do.
