Good luck to BA in the upcoming tournament. Coach Lyle seems to be a good guy from all indications. It's good he has some other coaches to help him with the "intangibles".
I'll agree Nichols is a good player, but to say he can do it all? I have not really seen him put the ball on the floor with consistency. How is the range on his jump shot? Granted, around the rim he is deadly, running the floor he is extremely effective but what about his perimeter game?
You can't judge a coach on his teams record, can you? He is a good motivator, excellent tactician and his player attention to fundamentals is second to very few.
Can any knowledgable Tyner fan explain why the Rams played a 2-3 zone when they are so good in man? Watching that game last night was shocking to see them in a zone. Was it conditioning?
Agreed. Should be exciting to watch these 2 teams. Win or lose these are the best teams in the city and both should be proud of the way their season has started.
Hard to say who the best team(s) are. Definitely a case can be made for any of the top teams but don't overlook ND and Baylor, especially. Baylor has only been together a couple of weeks or so and they are still working on it their timing. They will be a tough out.
It's true, the times free press and all their "wisdom" have created one of the worse brackets imaginable. What's the goal? To have a team like CSAS that has won 1 or 2 games play a team like Tyner in the championship? I'm sure the the CSAS coach is trying to give his team the easiest road to the finals.
That being said, a team will have to win no matter what- a great foreshadowing of the district and region tournament.

It goes without saying that whoever comes out of the bracket with Ooltewah in it will have proven they are the best. If they have any legs in them whatsoever will be another story. According to McCallie's athletic website they have 2 games in Alpheretta, Ga then open with Cleveland on Wednesday night. Cleveland is extremely talented with an unbelievable point guard in Bowles(I think that's his name). Baylor should have a fairly easy time getting through their bracket to get into the finals. However, Notre Dame with their guard play could be problematic for Baylor.
What does everyone else think?
Of course they did! One of the "perks" of hosting is getting to put yourself in the best position possible to catch a team off guard- despite a losing record. CSAS should excuse themselves from the tourney.
Ramfan, are you sure that Tyner,Ooltewah, McCallie and Cleveland aren't in the same bracket? If not, your alignment seems better, but somehow that isn't what I've heard from the newspaper.
These games will be fun to watch. Does anyone else think the brackets are a bit lopsided? Tyner, Ooltewah, McCallie and Cleveland seem to be among the best in the city yet they are all in the same bracket? Should be an exciting tournament as ND is playing well right now and Baylor is finding their groove.
Well said, t-Mac. The sooner brainerd folks can get past the coach High era, the sooner brainerd can re-establish themselves as competition against teams like Howard.
What a great game by both Ensworth and McCallie last night. It was a fun game to watch but the public tv station switched to other programming promptly at 8. What in the world ??
Mccallie played with the talented boys from Ensowrth for most of the game but couldn't seem to close it out. Had to switch to online version. Congrat's to both teams on a great year.
