Congrats to the young Lady for her 1000 points. I would also like to recognize 3 young ladies from Powell Erin Ogan (junior), Christen Rhyne(senior), and Renae Williams (senior) as they all scored their 1000 points this year and lead their team to 30-4 record.

This thread has suprised me. Cait should be number one on everyone's list. When any of those girls has Pat Summit and Geno from UCONN come and eat with them then just maybe we can start another thread like this.

robpride-I agree about what you said to BASELINE Baseline- Don't worry about what people say about your coaching, if you can't handle it why did you apply for the POSITION.It was nice to try and play yourself off as a player and build yourself up as a good coach. I have watched your girls play twice agianst OR and the first time OR shot horrible and your guards got away with some lucky passed through the press. You better stop worrying about what you say on here about you and do a little coaching like how to beat a zone and a press. Those are gonna be the keys in whether you make it out of region or not.

You will get your chance to see how good you are when you play Powell at Powell. It'll be their first game and they have a pretty good team as always so that will be a good test for you guys.

Congrats to the red devils for beating Powell last night in the 3AAA . This is the first time the senior class has beat the Powell seniors ever since school ball started in middle school. The Panthers were down a key player but held their own for awhile. Good luck to Halls and go beat Clinton and win the District.

The "will" to win is a great thing to have while you are playing the game. But, if you have graduated or are not even playing the game then the "will" to win hurts alot of people. You hear about fights and arguements after a high school game because the other team won and you don't like it. What we all forget is that it is just a game that we do for FUN. We don't realize how lucky we are to play or even get to watch the games. There are people out there who would love to be in some of our shoes. I just wondered what anyone else thought and if we realized how lucky we are to have what we have.

I have read both topics about the Hixon game and it is pretty much like a he said she said story. I don't know what happened. But lets say that when you were taking the equipment that a kid did pull a knife. Lets say their was a sucker punch when you weren't looking. Just because you say you saw everything doesn't mean that you did. It seems that you have more facts than the other guy and i'm not sayin your wrong, i am just saying it could have happened.

The loss to Plumlee hurts. It takes away a good ball handler and a good 3pt shooter. This will probably put Frosh. Matt Hargis at the point. He handles the ball fine but scoring threat and defense is a struggle. Watch out if coach Ogan brings up Migi King to shut down Jones.

Powell and Halls probably have the deepest. Plumlee for Powell went out with a knee injury so he might not be up to par for awhile. Powell Karns Halls Central OR those are my top 5

He should definately quit baseball this year as well to work on his game more since he was asked by "Big Phil" I am happy for the guy because I hated seeing that injury his junior year. I knew he was good but I thought it would kill his college chances. I guess he got lucky since Fulmer's daughter goes to Maryville. But hey we all need alittle luck when something like that happens.

No NO NO. Tevah Morris for Clinton. Agianst a 3-2 zone, he caught it and was toying with the 2 guys on him and Coach Loackard said " DUNK IT" and he took off from the middle of the lane and threw it down so hard that the goal was shaking when they came down on offense agian. Maybe not crazy, but with power.

Nice topic. I don't know of many coaches who can ball but Powell's coach Mike Ogan can absolutely stroke the rock. He is the all time leading scorer in Carson-Newman history. He hit 278 free throws in a row during practice. He played with a broke leg for a game because his team was in a big tournament so the scouts could see him. He was going to the ABA but it folded or whatever happened to it. He would definately be a starter on the the " Old Guys " team.

Thusday night Powell lost to Farragut. The big loss was to starting PG Dustin Plumlee going out with a knee injury. Not for sure on status but it doesn't look good. Does Powell stand a chance agianst Halls now? Does anyone see any upsets happing? I would like to know what everyone things the out comes wil be. Campbell Co. v.s. Central - Central Powell v.s. Halls - Powell...... ( another close one ) Oak Ridge v.s. Central - OR without a doubt Powell vs Clinton - Clinton ( unless Plumlee is ok ) Karns vs Oak Ridge - Oak Ridge Powell vs. Karns - Powell ( consolation ) OR vs. Clinton - Oak Ridge ( champinonship )

Of course Karns, OR, and Clinton are going. THe real question is Halls and Powell. Whoever comes out with the win will probably make some noise agianst whomever htey play in the region. You have Jones who is streaky as crap and could throw up 30 agianst alot of teams, but he makes big mistakes under pressure. Powell has beat them twice and by the skin of their teeth thanks some lucky breaks and Herman being in the right place at the right time. Plumlee is probably one of the hottest shooters around right now hitting atleast 5 3's a game in the last 4. Even though Powell didnt play well agianst Heritage, they had no problem with West and their tough Diamond press. Be ready other district for so tough games.

Congrats to Clinton on the district reg. season. I hope that they come ready that 1st district tourney game agianst either Halls or Powell. Who ever wins will be on an emotional high for beating their big rival. So I warn you don't look at the OR and Karns game and wonder who you all are going to play because you all will probably be at the championship game but in the stands letting the sweat dry from the consolation game agianst OR. Also this goes out to Karns......... Your going to choke on your home floor in the championship agianst Halls/Powell, it doesn't matter. I'm out

I have played in a tough enviornment at Oak Ridge when they had to pull out all of the bleechers and that place was rockin'. Last Fri. Powell v.s. Halls was a packed house with no seating. I was wondering what everyone else thought about the other home court advantages?

I wasn't very impressed the way Powell showed up the first quarter of the Clinton game. Those guys showed a lot of heart in battling back from a 17-0 deficit and actually tying the score at 50-50. Powell's perimeter game is what actually got them back in the ball game and kept them within striking distance. Plumlee was just playing extremely well hitting 6 threes and having 24 points. Herman also added a couple key threes during their comeback run. If Powell will learn how to play 4 quarters people better look out come district tournament time. They are tough when they come to play. GO PANTHERS!

The big problem is the different associations. There are not many bad call called agianst Clinton and Oak Ridge at home because the refs seem to think that since there are always write-ups about them that they should bow down to them and not call any fouls. Clinton the other nite only committed 4 fouls the entire 2nd half. Somehow i don't think that a team can foul 4 times unless they don't touch anyone while they are playing. Region is probably the best because they bring in a whole new bunch and it doesn't matter who is suppose to be " All Mighty". The ridge officials are the worst out there.

As a player I get mad at the refs if they call something I don't like but that is all because I am caught up in the game. I also ref jr. pro and it is probably worse than the high school level just because they are 6yrs. old to 11 or 12 and the coaches are all about winning instead of helping the kids get ready for the high school and junior high levels and teaching fundamentals. As a "ref", you can't see everything and yea you miss a couple of calls but you also get alot right. Referees have so much pressure and may miss some call so why do we always blame things on the ref? They are only human like everyone else and I dare say we have all made some mistakes. GO DUKE

Those are fair predictions. This is tournament time though and you can't ever know who might show up and play. Oak Ridge handled Powell pretty well but I don't think that Powel was ready to play. I think Powell is getting better knowing that Smith can't carry the missing load by himself. The guards are starting to shoot the ball well from the outside and it could be trouble for teams if they worry about the outside game too much and leave Ward and Smith alone. I think they sub too much early. Last nite they had "MO" on their side and the starters get taken out. They lost their groove with the game after sitting over there for 2 min. and Central started getting Hot. But it may be a good thing to give them the rest and let their legs get back under them in other games but that one last nite I didn't like the decision. But oh well I'm not the coach and i respect his decisions greatly.

West has a pretty good inside game. I really think their guards, besides Bennet, can't shoot a lick. Bennet on the other hand is the best pull up jump shooter i have played agianst. I rank him up their with Fersner and Conner ( Central ). I think that the game will be decided by the inside game. West has great athletic ability and really crashes the boards. West with the upset. Don't ever compare Farragut's student section to Duke. That is just shameful. Duke by 15 over UNC

Fersner and Shipwash probaly have the best 2 3point shooters around on the same team.
