  1. It's basketball time in Obion County! The only question is who will we go and watch next week as the playoff's will be history this season for all three county teams in 2011........ as I see it: UC loses in another mercy rule contest.... OC loses to another team that has more athlete's than the Rebels..... SF escapes with a lost at the pit bulldog field where bad blood already exist before the game.......
  2. Slots #1 thru #20 - Teams have already qualified as 1st or 2nd or wildcards. Jo Bryns, Perry County, Nashville Christian, South Pitt, Coalfield, Gordansville, Cloudland, Huntingdon, Wayne Co., Sunbright, Greenback, Lake County, Colinwood, Columbia Acad., South Fulton, Eagleville, Harriman, Clarksville Acad., Middle Tn. Christian, and Moore Co. There should be only 4 wildcard slots open with a small group of schools competing as I see it. If these teams win by using only the 1st and 2nd tiebreaker they will be... (a)Cornersville 5 and 8, they play Perry Co. Will get #21 (lose 4 + 7) (b)Montery 5 and 6, they play Friendship Christian Will get #22 (lose 4+5) ©Union City 5 and 5, they play South Fulton Will get #23 (lose 4+4) (d)Bruceton 5 and 4, they play West Carroll Will get #24 (lose 4+4)get 3rd tiebreaker over uc (e)Gleason 5 and 4, they play Dresden (lose 4+3) (f)Huntland 4 and 6, they play Cascade (lose 3+6) The defending state champions, Union City if loses, they could get the final wildcard slot if Gleason loses to Dresden and Huntland loses to Cascade only! Quads would be to hard to try for me to set if UC and Bruceton bot get in!!!!!!
  3. Only two out last night for union city. D. Williams not coming to workouts a few times and late a few days was the reason for the lack of playing time. Too much time playing video football (ps2 or xbox). Hyde went down last monday during workouts. Knee problems? He missed due to a whimp or pansy attitude, more than likey not a physical injury. Scales has a nagging high ankle injury and will be back next week. Bowling had the big game last night..14/182 yds Defense was not very sharp hut improved in the second half. I just wish that the state champions would develop the attitude that they will play 100% together to defend their title against all opponents.
  4. Congrats Rebels! Boo Zebra's! Hard to win with 170 yds in penalties with 2 other 15 yders that were double flags on both sides. That was 10 15yd flags thrown against UC tonight compared to only 40 yds for OC. I hope that the force (zebra's) will stay with the rebels and allow them to win a few more games this year. Congradulations OC.........
  5. THE REAL STATS DIRECT FROM GAME FILM. UC RUSHING....66/382yds.....PASSING.....2/4 (0)=45yds...22 fd....... TP RUSHING....33/208yds.....PASSING......5/12 (1)=57yds.....14 fd...... UC HYDE 26/147yds........ WILLIAMS 15/136yds BOWLING 19/59yds THE GAME FILM DOES NOT LIE! IT ONLY STATES THE TRUTH!
  6. Offical stats from film. Keylon Hyde: 42 rushes for 333yds with 4 touchdowns for UC. UC had 451yds rushing overall.
  7. 4-3 McKenzie and could have been 6-3 if not for 2 fumbles within red zone.
  8. Cat fight at the wildcats den? Who would of thought? The cat's out for blood? UC did knock them out of the playoff's. duh? The scrimage was not scheduled to be filmed by either teams! Im sure that someone did film the game and the video will surface. A lot of parents film their kids (palm cam, cellphone, video-cam) and im sure someone has evidence of what happened.......post it on youtube and leave the url in this thread. I was not at the den, asthma has me knocked out. Trash talking is bad sportsmanship, all...............?
  9. Trey Phipps is tuff in the passing game with little defensive pressure at the line of scrimage. The Rebels might be challenged more with keeping the penalties down to a lower level that will ensure them with more wins this season. Not many flags were thrown during the Lake County scrimage, but there was a lot of holding, clipping, blocks in the back, and overall cheap shots during the scrimmage. Without the new defensive coordinator on site yet, the Rebels D unit has room to grow. Will the Rebels baseball program will now start to decline as the leadership will be all football coaches? Will OC become the Trenton Peabody that plays it's district baseball opponents on Monday & Tuesday, then it is football time for the remainder of the week. (season?) Or maybe the program will be for seniors only (that is the seniors that played football) and the younger kids at football year round? Whatever Coach Jackson wants he will get or there will be two more new football coaches taking the baseball program in the future????? The school is "pro" football now with the rest of the men's athletic venue's without due reguard of winning.
  10. Congradulations to Coach Mathis and staff for winning our district's championship this year in the regular season and the tournament too! We hope that you will bring the state championship back to west tennessee this year. The Coaching Staff at OCCHS
  11. "Everyone knew this was going to happen this year as soon as his kid graduated this year. He never even did any coaching anyways. No signs or anything, never coached the bases." re:milanbb2005 You are correct in that Coach Davis planned to step down after this season was completed. The second statement however is not correct since you must not have been watchig during the two encounters with Milan this season. Other than the two games he set out for the ejection at Franklin County, Coach Davis did control every phase of the game from the dugout somewhat like they do in the pro's. It's easy to tell whether a coach is in control of the game by watching who meets with the umpires at the plate prior to the start of the game. No big news articles for me though! After 20 something years in the OCCHS dugout, Im finished too! It's always been about hepling the young men become better players and leaders after their playing days are over; for me. Respect will always be the key! ( If you give respect, it will take you everywhere. If you do not respect others, they will never respect you!)
  12. purple and gold... sorry, I have closed the public viewing of oc baseball stats on my website. too many parents demanding that game stats have to be changed to what they think they should be.... the coaches are wrong, the parents want to deciede all stats, go think? also, I hope that number 18 is still improving......
  13. Try 13 hits instead of 18. You have to count fielding mistakes as errors. Five of them in the top of the 4th when Milan scored 14 runs......
  14. Purple............. OC is missing #18 Weaks, Please update his current status? He has been m-i-s-s-i-n-g from team the past week? No contact!
  15. As of OCCHS status for the Haywood game. The Pate young lady was under suspension for violating student conduct rules from the administration of the school for the last two games. The Fussell young lady had a fluid build up on her foot and was not allowed to play via a physician. Ms. Pate will be finished with her suspension from the school on Friday, her fate will depend on the coach for the violation of team rules. Nothing fishy going on here, just one hurt and one paying for breaking the rules. Ms. Fussell is a medical issue and will be entirely up to her doctor.
