  1. You guys don't even know your official signals, the signal for grabbing the singlet or headgear is the same as locked hands Also I have work with the official in question for many years and if he said the wrestler grabbed the singlet, THEN HE GRAB THE SINGLET, END OF STORY!
  2. Please Pray for My Brothers who are now serving our country in Kuwait (with the Army National Guard) Rob Croxdale (fellow TSSAA official and former Morristown East wrestler in the late 80's early 90's) and Howard Croxdale (former Morristown East wrestler in the early 70's) THANKS, Stan Croxdale
  3. You are in Region 2 area (Knoxville) but there is no rule, saying you have to ref in the area you live, if you don't mind the drive, you would proablly get more matches in our area ( seeing as we are 3 short this year). If you are interesting in calling in upper East TN, you can contact our assigning officer Jeff Arnold at FORFUN@BELLSOUTH.NET Stan Croxdale
  4. Where do you live? We are in need of officials in upper East TN, (Jeff Co. to Washington Co.) Stan Croxdale Northeast TN Wrestling Officials Assoc.
  5. Because of these sort of things, is why you need seasoned refs at these kid events. A seasoned ref would know if the kid was being hurt. And this is why parents and other fans don't need to be on the gym floor along the mat. That is why, as officials we try to keep mat side clear and fans in the seats. I know parents get mad at us, but it is for the safty of the wrestlers and so the other fans that stay in the stands, can see.
  6. Your 160 can not happen Charlie Arrington (Greenville) is at 171
  7. This is getting old. If you would have sat in the stands TAPED THE MATCH like any other fan (or been over in the corner of the Gym), and keep it to yourself. THERE WOULD BEEN NOTHING SAID. There are people video taping matches all the time in our area and as far as I know nothing is said, EXCEPT, IF THER'E RIGHT UP ON THE EDGE OF THE MAT.
  8. Ken, Congratulations for the honor. I have enjoy working with you in the couple of State tournaments that we have worked together. Also glad to see you at the State Duals this year. I know I will be seeing you around the mat for years to come even thou you have hung up your whistle as an official, I know you will be around. Best wishes, Stan Croxdale
  9. This is a good story, but the writer left out the part about the the other coach that was honored (whom also past this past year) THE GREAT LOU HOBAN.
  10. Oh, and I bet you watched Father Ryan & MBA too. BAD, BAD BOY!!!!!!
  11. ALSO LINK TO SEE FOR YOURSELF, AS YOU CAN SEE OOLTEWAH DID NOT EVEN GET INTO THE CONSOLATION FINIALS. HOW COULD THEY FINISH 4TH
  12. Had to be Jon, for he is the only SH assitant that is a TSSAA official. I have to ditto the the integrity of Jon. I have known him for several years myself. I have been on both sides of "the Mat" with him as my partner as an official & the official and he was the coach. Either way he is one of the BEST.
  13. What are you getting on TSSAA for , it was UTC that made the screw up. TSSAA has had the the "State" there at the Round House at least the last 6 or 7 years. THE SAME WEEK END. TSSAA should move it to another location (next year) because UTC screwed up.
  14. Do I have to spell it out for you! IT IS THE RULE!
  15. I am not on one side or the other on this because I was not there. But I can't stand it when people get on here and bad mouth the refs when they don't even know the rules. NFHS RULES RULE 3-1-8 .........The referee SHALL NOT use TV monitoring, replay or other video equipment in making decisions related to the match.
  16. WHAT ARE YOU DOING ? THIS A WRESTLING BOARD! YOU KNOW.... WRESTLING WHAT MEN DO DURNING BOYS BASKETBALL SEASON
  17. YOU MISSED THE POINT!!!!LET THEM BUILD CHARACTER ON THEIR OWN TEAM! Just like the boys do on the Boy's Baseball Team, Boy's BB Team ETC. I am not against girls wrestling but not on the same team as the MEN. When you have a daughter of your own, then come back and tell me how you feel about it.
  18. GOOD PIONT , What if a boy wanted to play on the girls softball team? Should we let them?
  19. :justwrestle: Hey, you MISSED THE PIONT! I did not say they should not wrestle! JUST WITH OTHER GIRLS! In what other sport in High School do you have Coed? NONE. (Except maybe a few football kickers) You have GRILS BB, BOYS BB, GIRLS TRACK, BOYS TRACK, GIRLS SCOCCER, BOYS SCOCCER, GOLF, (BASEBALL & SOFTBALL), ETC. AND IN SOME STATES YOU EVEN HAVE BOYS VOLLYBALL Let them start their own team. Just like some of the Colleges & Internatinal Games have. I have a Daughter she plays Basketball. (OK I said it) MY son Wrestles. Get the picture. If she wanted to wrestle I would be the first to take her to a GIRLS AAU Tournament or help her start a girls team when she got to High School. WRESTLING IS WHAT MEN DO DURNING BOY'S BASKETBALL SEASON
  20. I do consider it a double standard that guys cannot be on a volleyball team. However one guy could dominate a girls volleyball team and opposing teams and it would open up the possibility of, many guys joining. In that case, it would possibly carry over to other schools and it would begin to become male oriented. Who said boys could not go out for the volleyball team. If they let the girls on the wrestling team, they can not stop the boys for going out for vollyball. I HAVE SAID THIS TO MANY PEOPLE, THAT IF THE BOYS ON THE WRESTLING TEAM WOULD GO OUT FOR VOLLYBALL, SOMEONE WILL GET THE MEASAGE AND PUT A STOP TO GIRLS WRESTLING.
  21. Read the rule book! Unsportsman Like conduct, Throwing of any equipment will be a dedution of one team point.
  22. RC was the Director when it was one Div. it was the "law suit" that made the split. If RC wanted to see D1 beat up on D2 they would be together. (That just does not make sense) How can you crown a kid TN state champ when his parents reside in New York or where ever. How do you know what RC thinks, have you heard him say it. If you don't know what you're talking about, you should just keep quit.
  23. We should spend less time worrying about medals and more time getting higher participation in the sport at an earlier age and encouraging the kids to stick with it all the way through their senior year. Wrestling has way too many that are falling by the way side because we, the parents, have taught them that anything less than a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP is a waste of time. I would have to agree about younger participation. Look at High Schools with great Baseball programs. They normally have great little league programs in their town. Same with football, Girls softball, soccer etc. START AN AAU PROGRAM AND QUIT WHINNING.
  24. We go by NFHS Rules, how can he change it. National Federation changed the Tie Breaker Criteria a few years ago. RC does not make the rules.
