Why isn't Butler, Wells, and Pickel in that group playing in the all-star game? I would think that those three would be top picks. They are three of the best seniors in the area. Were they invited?

Aaron Green and Kent Smith for the boys are funny to watch when they get mad. Coach Tucker at Walker Valley yells at the refs from start to finish.

hey man. they may have beat Bradley 2X last year but get your facts right. They beat Cleveland 0X last year. Interpreted zero times. zero. They have beat them two times in three years. year before last they beat us one time but last year no times. They did beat Bradley 2X though but so did everybody else so nothing to be tootin their horns about. as a matter of fact I believe the lady raiders beat them by over twenty both games last year.

Theres a lot of excellent players in all divisions expecially AAA. You must have a hatred for Pickel or something. your girl has scored 1000 points and bradley's girl 2000 in career. You can't always say what they did against each other becauseI think Pikel outscored your girl every game last year and maybe this year too. you may have a better team but it is a individual award. Last year Holly took lady raiders to the state but she didn't average alot of points so she didn't get any recognition. casha is the same way. Thats just how it is. But you shouldn't go hating on anybody in your district from bradley cleveland or anywhere. you should be proud and supporting of them. It doesn't matter where you are going to college. Rogers is at Vandy and going great. Belmont had the winner last year. but I think Insel got a steel in Pickel whether u want to admit it or not. KeKe is the winner so it really doesn't matter who else is in it and if Cait hadn't got hurt we wouldnt be having this conversation anyhow. But u probably think your girl is as good as cait. haha...

with Cait being hurt the triple A is wide open. I think all the players above have taken there teams to a higher level. Right now I would have to go with Mooney (go Vandy) and Pickel as toprunners then Keke or maybe Pulelo as a long shot. I have seen all these four play and think they are top girls in Tennessee. Kerri Simpson would have been a longsot but she got hurt early in the year. i like Hudson fron Gleason in single a and I think Thomas will defend her title in double a. Brown should be a finalist again though and maybe Dudley.

I just wish they would have more pictures in there. They also should do some kind of special writeups each week about the local players who are playing in college and kinda like to a focus is the week athlete. Like they could do a writeup on Holly Rogers, Charles Little, Justin Hare, all three Lady Raiders at Lee, Kellen PIckle and Cori Pugh, Tiffany Buck, Wes Suiter, Mindy Cox, and any other basketball player who is playing college ball right now. Kinda let the local people know what is going on. That would be cool. Maybe they could hire somebody just to do that kinda thing.

They might lose their first district game at home in about five years this friday when they play Cleveland. One thing is that is wrong with them is that one player gets to do anytihng he wants and he has the worse attitude of any player I have ever watched from Bradley. I don't care how good he is the coach needs to bench him for the way he acts. Nobody on the other teams or even his team I hear like the way he acts on the court. I can't believe his coach never does anything to him for getting technicals and taunting other teams and then yelling at his own players. That may be what is happened to Bradley since the season started.

you may never lose again because you all have proven so much in that tough tough christmas tournament. What is coach Q thinking playing in that tournament? Surely you all could have found a better one to play in. But I guess you will find oout after Christmas just how good u are. You will be fighting walker valley for that fourth spot in the region.

They better be ready to play in that tough christmas tourney they play in. Boyd Buchanan, Sequoyah, is that for real? I believe anybody could have them ready for the teams they are playing and with Kerri back they probably won't be able to beat the lady raiders. But they are better than I thought they would be, its just that their scedule and tournaments are a joke just like the mcminn cherokees scedule and tourneys.

96-16 is sad but maybe you should look at last years WV scores. how bad did they beat Tennessee Temple this year. Almost that bad and look at the ooltwah score 76-24 and I know for a fact that his starters were in the third quarter. Don't hate on Cleveland and then take up for some of those schools you like. Its bad enough to play schools like Temple but to beat them as bad as they did is pretty bad too don't you think.

The only outside scorer on that team so far this year has been butler. Noboyd else on the team has scored in double figures all year. I guess she is doing all the shooting because the other players are not scoreing at all. If Cleveland canhandle butler they win but if not it goes to walker valley. I think angie can do the job but if butler gets free she will shoot and if she is hitting then walker valley wins. Cleveland does have more scorers than wv so it is harder to shut them down. heart said that her team had better outside. How do you know that. Only one person is scoring. I know alex and ashton can shoot so will they against cleveland? The best team will win this game and be the leader in the district. I think it will be cleveland in less than ten points

they don't need to be talking about other schools having only one player. I just then read yesterdays paper and it looked like WV definitely has only one person who can score. Nobody was even close to double figures but one with 27 then 7. Bradley and Cleveland have more than one that can score. Cumberland and McMinn have several that can score. rhea is kinda like Wv they only got one that can score most of the time.

I am getting pretty confused on here reading about how proud the McMinn Fire parents are of all the accomplsihments. Am i missing something? What age group were they? I know they didn't win state in 15U, 16U or 14U. How did they do in nationals? I have been around the best of the best AAU teams and I must have missed something. Or maybe they are 13's. I didn't really keep up with who won the state in 13's but I am thinking the Pride did. So what are all the accomplishments that you all keep talking about? I know you think you are pretty good and you are for your little corner of the world but when you branch out a little you may find that you are not that good. I thought you all were better than you were. i mean, McMinn is just an okay team and they beat you? If your Fire team is so good where are those girls. Really good freshman are on the floor and not the bench. I still am not following something about the aau team though. Please respond to how ya'll did in the nationals this year because I didn't know.

Brandi wins Miss Basketball this year but I don't think Duduley is one of the top three. Thomas has got to be in that mix. Don't see all three finalists from east Tennessee. Cait wins it of course and it will either be Pickel or Stewart whichever one has the best stats for the year will be on it. The third from West Tennessee. State champ will be Shelbyville or Heritage. MJ might be a sleeper and come through. Dyersburg wins state in AA because nobody canstop Holloway. The girls a hoss. Don't know much about A but if i will go with Jackson County. They were pretty much the team to beat always in AA so stepping down should be the winner. Ramsey is the only name I know in A so I guess i will go with her as the Miss Basketball.

cleveland may go back. they are hungry now that they have an appearance. it will either be bradley or cleveland.

street and smith is made up of sports writers and evaluators across the nation. They choose the girls based on performance during the summers against the best players in the nation. They do not base the picks on where some people have signed cause then they would have to place everybody that signs division one on the list. while you are impressed with bama you have to realize that nationwide they are not a very strong team and some of the best players in the nation choose not to go to a school just for the name, ie. Alisha Clark but choose to go to a program that is stronger than the name. look for Belmont to be in the NCAA this year and continue to get even better and better. Clark was all-american even tho she signed with a small school. It is a school that is respected by the writers. Then again some of the ones do sign with bigger schools but they are not necessarily powerhouse programs. Like a football player that signs with Vandy or Kentucky or ole miss is not better than one that signs with Virginia Tech just because they are SEC. no. Simply signing with Bama or any other school doesnt prove anything nationwide. Check out ESPN's latest rankings of womens basketball programs for this year. several sec schools are not even in the top 100 where some smaller schools are ranked high. Ie. belmont Street and smith is a very reputable ranking and recruiting program but sometimes players don't perform as well as they are capable when being seen and causes some good players to be left off the list. maybe that is why. but it certainly shoul have nothing to do with the signing. Evaluators aren't impressed by conferences they look at the teams. Stewart was an All-American and I think there are some posts better in the nation but I wasnt evaluating. She is an all-american going to middle tennessee state. Janay Armstrong signed with an ACC school much better than Bama or mtsu and maybe she should be all-american above Stewert. I don't think so. personally I think Cait should have been higher than she was. If you wanna talk about signing with a certain school making you an all-american, she only signed with the best program in the nation and has players that signed with lower divisions ranked in front of her so signing with a college doesn't make you a better player. all those girls on there list are excellent ballplayers who have all signed either as good or better than others and street and smith can't list everybody that signs division one. but signing is not what gets you on that list anyway. Tennessee has lots of girls who have signed D1 scholarhips. It would be nice if they all could get street and smith all-americans but they can't. there are always ones left out that people think should be on there.

Exactly. Most of these coaches have been to area gyms on several occasions throughout the year. It is a great time for evaluation, but most will tell you that not nearly as important as national AAU tournaments.

Nothing wrong with Belmont. She will have a good career at a good school and be an outstanding ball player for them. I heard he is a great coach there too.

Morris had her pretty frustrated inside. She was throwing up shots off balance and missing easy ones. Morris should be credited for her defense in that game. Bellamy didn't impress me but Thomas sure did last night. My vote is for her for Miss Basketball.

Its a shame we had to play Mj first round because we were much better against them than Powell was. Lady Raiders had a great year and will probably dominate again next year. The only team standing in the way will be Cumberland unless Bradley gets somebody else to help them. And Logsden and Dawn created all that is at Cleveland even the young ones but Coach Moore has developed the team into a team and that wasn't easy.

Walker Valley had a great run at the championship. It will be interesting to see how far they go in AAA though. They would not have even come out of region play this year in AAA. Yes they are just four years old and have won wome big things in AA but just how successful would they been in in AAA? The answer will be found out next year! That will show the true Walker Valley athletics, next year in the big leagues. But I am not saying that against them this year because they had a good AA year but lets dont forget how they were dominated ecah time they played us. I would say it will be more of the same every year. But I am just guessing. They always want to say how good they've done for a new school. Look at Wilson Central. Blackman, siegel who are either the same age or even newer and they have been to the state several times in AAA. Did you know that Walker Valley had more enrollement than four of the schools that were playing in AAA state girls? Wow thats sad and did you know that Greenville chose to move up in sports? Imagine that they would be state champs if they were down where they should be, cause they killed Austin East this year. Congradulations tho to the Lady Mustangs. Looking forward to another rivalry in the district next year but watch out because CHS and CCHS will dominate again.

I would be surprised if they win the state but I won't be surprised if they make it. They are a good team especially in AA. Next year they will get a big welcome to AAA though. Yes they beat all the Chatt area AAA teams but who doesn't? Meigs and Tellico wold have the same record against the AAA teams they have played. I don't think they will win against Cleveland even though they got more students than we have. Last game wasn't even close. I think they will beat the 7AA teams this year though. Upperman is the only team from there that is playing good. They probably will get to play Jackson County at home and they are a year away from being good. Walker Valley can't beat the good teams with just one player. They can dominate their district and region because they got Suzanne and Mindy inside but when it comes to playing the teams in the state, I probably think that Cheatham County will win the state. They were there last year and have everybody back plus some transfers.

Jackson did ok, maybe scoring 10 points. Pickel was double and trippled all night scoreing probably 12 or so. They don't get much help. Jackson is averaging around 15 and Pickel over 20 and both were pretty much held far below that. But they both played ok on defense and rebounds, I guess.
