  1. Is Neal Capps still at Cumberland County? I played ball with him at Roane State Community College in 94'95'. Crossville is the central location between my parents and my wife's parents. Coaching there would be an ideal situation for me and my family. I can assure you that I would not be outworked and pride myself on teaching fundamental player development as well as representing the Community to the highest degree.
  2. I think he has taken too many forehand winners to the forehead.
  3. I am a very interested candidate for this job. I am from East Tennessee originally and am looking to relocate back to that area. I have endorsements in Science and Physical Education. Is the good ol boy system in place or will they look for an energetic young coach that will work extremely hard and build a successful program.
  4. It's going to be an awesome state tournament in AA
  5. I say you are both idiots because you probably have not even seen Gibson County play, therefor you have no idea what to expect from them. I would also venture to say that pioneer pete has not seen anyone, from any other part of the state play, besides his beloved pioneers. Therefor you both are idiots for making statements that neither of you can support with any factual data whatsoever.
  6. Ragland JC 1 and Pioneer Peete are both idiots from their respective schools. Well, the world still needs idiots to give the educated something to talk about...Hahaha :justwrestle:
  7. It seems to me that this is a battle of pride. 7AA fans (Jackson and Livingston Academy) run their mouths about the last 5 state championships, and best basketball, blah blah blah; while Gibson County fans (the ignorant ones) run their mouth about an undefeated season, and who's next, blah blah blah. The bottom line is this. The teams that make it will make for an awesome state tournament that all fans will be proud to watch. The one thing that I do know about it all, is that Tennessee High School girls basketball is as good as it gets. Can I get an AMEN...
  8. I'm not going to argue that 7AA is not the toughest district in the state because it probably is. I will say that 13AA is not far behind. Crockett County finished 5th in the 13AA regular season, and fourth in the 13AA tournament and they are substate bound. 13AA may have two at the dance as well. Crockett and Gibson.
  9. Gibson County, Livingston, Seymour, Jackson County all dominate region games.
  10. 18-0 run to close the third and start the fourth. Ouch. Dresden was up 36-30, then they were down 48-36. That will hurt tomorrow.
  11. Imagine what...They are the best two players in the state in any class...
  12. It is unfortunate that basketball or any other sport at the high school level has become a year round activity. The bottom line is this. If you want to run with the big dogs then you can do it one of two ways; out work them or out athlete them. Obion County is never going to out athlete anyone so they must out work them. Basketball is not what it used to be and neither are the athletes that play it. Kids used to do other things besides sit inside on their lazy behinds. Now days you have to practically drive them with a whip to motivate them to work. It is a lazy society, one that never learns the lesson "if you want something bad enough work for it". I applaud Spencer Hoffman and anyone else teaching this lesson. Those of you that knock him are the lazy ones that coaches can do without. They can do without your children and the criticism that spews from your mouths.
  13. Does anyone know where the Cupples girl will attend high school? She would probably be a better fit at Dyer County and would get alot of PT as a freshman. At Dyersburg she would just watch for at least a year. IMO
  14. If I'm not mistaken Dyer County was down 17 when the subs went into the game. The final score was 61-41. So in a little over a half, the varsity was down 17 and the subs lost by 3 the rest of the game. Was it the Coaches that gave up or the players? HMMMMM. Looks like the group that went in actually played better. I will defend those coaches because they are excellent coaches and more importantly good people. Give this team some time. If you look at the players, only two of them got any minutes at all last season. They are still babies (basketball wise anyway)
