  1. OK, this should probably clear up any misunderstanding that people may have regarding DII and them not being the best classification in soccer this year. We should compare what the top teams in AAA and A/AA have done in the past two weeks against DII opponents. In AAA, #1 Brentwood tied #8 MBA 1-1 and lost to #2 BGA 3-2. #5 Oak Ridge lost 3-2 to unranked Father Ryan and 3-2 to #5 Knox Catholic. #6 Bearden lost 2-0 to #4 MUS. #7 Germantown Houston tied #4 MUS 0-0 and lost to unranked Briarcrest 1-0. #8 Clarksville lost 2-1 to #3 ECS. Combined, the top AAA teams went 0-6-2 against DII in the past two weeks. When looking at A/AA, #1 FRA beat unranked Pope John Paul II 4-0 and lost to unranked Brentwood Academy 2-1. CCS tied both unranked Baylor and #6 McCallie 0-0 and 1-1, respectively. So that makes A/AA a much more respectable 1-1-2 against DII, but it came against far less competition than what AAA got in the same two weeks. The bottom line is this for DII: a combined 7-1-4 against these two divisions in the past two weeks. DII is the best boys, sorry if this ruffles feathers.

    D-II 2A

Didn't Catholic beat the crap out of Briarcrest in the playoffs 41-14? I think the best coach in DII AA is Pemberton at Catholic, and I am pretty sure they will beat 'Crest again, but we'll see.
  3. What about the classes underneath the Super Seven? Does anyone have any ideas? I think BGA and Catholic could meet again in the finals in AA (although Briarcrest could make noise), in A I have no clue. The Seven could see MUS making a lot of noise, but I also like BA. Any thoughts?
  4. it doesn't really matter. the best percentage of good teams is DII, followed by AAA, then A/AA. It may not be like that in all sports, but in soccer it is year in and year out. Think about the amount of teams in DII and how many can play with or beat any teams in any classification. I'm not sure, but I think there might be, at the most, 25-30 teams in DII in soccer. About 15 of those teams can give any team in the state, regardless of classification, a good game. There ya go.
  5. The most solid teams this year in the East have been, in no particular order: Farragut CAK Catholic Oak Ridge CCS Science Hill Look for all these teams to make noise during their respective tourneys, especially CAK and Catholic, who are peaking at the right time.
  6. I know Catholic is # 1 in the east, and BGA is 1 in Middle, and CBHS is 1 in West, followed by MUS, followed by ECS (?), then Briarcrest, then whoever else.
  7. Mike Pierce Catholic. Dominator.
  8. Uh, Milan isn't going to state...ever.

    FRA

That EZMUNYAN gives the worst friggin' predictions on games. I think he posted that CCS would kill Baylor 3-0 and it was O-O game. I'm sure he screwed up this prediction too. Stop predicting EZ!
  10. unless they are playing LC, CAK, CCS, or FRA. Then any and every team in A/AA will lose, sorry, as a great rapper known as 2Pac Shakur once said, "That's just the way it is."
  11. CBHS is better than Farragut...Guaranteed. I think Farragut is the second best team in the state though. Good luck the rest of the year Admirals.
  12. soccermadness, You pointed out two div. II schools, probably the only two that are that weak. Div. II East Region's teams are Knox Catholic, Webb, McCallie, Baylor, and Notre Dame. Any one of those teams can give any team in the state a good game, and they have to play one another every year, with scores like 1-0, 2-0, 3-1, 0-0, and the like. You will rarely, I don't even think I've seen one this year, get a scoreline of 4-0, much less a line of 16-0 as some top teams in AAA hand out to the Heritages of the world. The same can be said for Middle, while West is probably the most top-heavy, but still highly competitive in many games. The point is DII teams schedule against the best of A/AA and AAA, and then play their region schedules, as well as some more DII teams on the side. Not many games are cakewalks, unlike AAA and A/AA teams' schedules, where you will find many weaker teams in their district. To prove my point, look at the scoring leaders in DII and compare them to the scoring leaders for AAA. You will see quite a wide difference in goals, but when a DII team plays a top A/AA or AAA school, it is usually a pretty good game with not much scoring. Not to take away from the scoring leaders in AAA and A/AA, its not their fault they play weak teams in their district. And the Redmond rankings are bogus. See how many DII teams are on it at the end of the season.
  13. I don't think LC will completely drop out, but we'll see...
  14. The only guarantee from Middle unless something really shocking happens is BGA. They have been playing too well for too long this season to get upset by any team in the Middle, in my opinion the weakest region in DII. I believe Father Ryan is the dark horse. The way they have played lately, I would not be surprised at all if they beat MBA. MBA better not think they are just going to show up to region and waltz into states, because it looks to me like Ryan is turning around their season and BA or USN could give MBA a good game.
  15. It's in Bristol. I know the goalie for Bearden a couple years back (Brian Crunk or Cronk) went there for school. He was awesome. I think they just have a solid soccer program.
