  1. Please don't ever call my friends, the parents, classmates, students, siblings, and especially the players classless ever again. What I wrote was what I was told by parents whom I know to be calm at games, and I will stand with their opinions. Also, "aggressive soccer" which FRA plays does not automatically constitute into throwing red cards out at will. Let's remember, a red is a serious offense.
  2. Next year will be a rebuilding year, definitely. Offensively, they lose Whitlock and McDonald, top scorers for the past 2 years, and Williamson. Defensively, its Bolton, Batson, Howell, and Myers. Those are just their senior starters. They keep Premo, who stepped up big time this year, in goal for 2 more years, and still have Adams on offense and Van Eys on defense, but the loss of the class of 05 is going to hurt both FRA mens and womens teams.
  3. how right you are. but FRA's mens team has also been getting screwed over for the past 3 years, first in seeding (playing CAK in the 1st round last year? come on! that shouldve been the state championship game! why on earth would the #1 and #2 teams be placed against eachother in the first round?) and now in reffing. its just getting really old and its about time they get a reward they deserve.
  4. Of course, because this is the completely and totally logical solution to this problem, they won't catch on for a few more years. This also brings to mind the FRA vs DCA womens state championship game in 2003. A call which said a corner kick curved out of bounds and then curved back inbounds infront of the back post. This ball was headed in, but called back because it supposedly went out, costing FRA a goal and having the final score end up 2-1. All this is to prove the point listed above. 2 field judges will not solve everything, but it will make calling a game much more fair because of two perspectives. Football has many refs, why not soccer?
  5. game over. fra 2 ccs 3. the ref had to be escored off the field. supposedly he went against the linemen multiple times, took back 2 goals that were "offsides" and gave mcdonald that red card. truly a poorly reffed game. a ref's lack of judgement should never ever be a deciding factor in a game this big. and it obviously was this game. congratulations to ccs, but i truly believe there was some biased calling going on.
  6. yeah. more detailed update: CCS went up 1st, and put another one in after that. FRA tied it back up and then went down again at the end of the half. 2 goals were taken away from FRA by the refs. at the beginning of the half, Ryan McDonald and a CCS player went up for a header and knocked into eachother, the CCS player went down and a red was called on McDonald. Knowing Ryan, he would not do something stupid enough to get himself a red in a huge game like this. From what I've heard, it was a horrible call in what continues to be a poorly called game
  7. final score is 2-0 FRA with Ryan McDonald scoring both goals. I think FRA moves on to play CCS tomorrow at 7.
  8. i'm definitely biased, so i'm hoping for an fra win, but i can't give any good facts either way, except to say that i've seen them improve through the season and theyre playing some good soccer. but i havent seen any lenoir soccer to compare it to.
  9. How does Lenoir compare to FRA? They're usually a very strong team, how do they look this year?
  10. FRA won 5-0... Station Camp got maybe 4 shots the entire game, all easy rollers straight to Premo. FRA had possession probably 95% of the time.
  11. yeah they tied FRA, but FRA couldn't finish once they got in the attacking 3rd. that and an FRA goal was taken away because of a very iffy call. FRA/CPA is always a good match up in district tourney though. last year, FRA was down by 1 until the last 10 minutes of the game when Whitlock tied it up, sent it into overtime, and then McDonald scored the winning goal. should be a good game, as long as FRA beat DCA tonight

    CAK VS FRA

Ashley Price scored 4 goals, 2 of which I know were assisted by Lyndsey Almon. Marissa Yennie scored the other. Perhaps, GKBD15, you should remember that you won last year in mens, and this is a whole new season in womens. And no, I don't think any of us were wondering about your state championship. FRA takes it to the state finals for the 3rd time in 3 years.

    FRA vs GRACE

FRA goals by Marissa Yennie, Kristin Garman, and 2 Ashley Price, I believe.
  16. i see FRA going up against CCS on saturday. the past 2 times FRA has met CCS in state, it has been a very good game and FRA has barely gotten out with the win. but i think it will be one of those teams
  17. garman has verbally committed to fsu, which is incredible. but fra also has jenny phillip, who is being looked into seriously by u of chicago and wash u. hopefully ashley price will get some offers as well... she deserves them.
  18. if ccs is anything like they have been in past years, cpa is dead. theyll try, but theyre not gonna go anywhere. ill be very suprised if ccs doesnt make it to the state finals this year
  19. 7-0 FRA. goals from: whitlock=2, premo=2, adams=1, cummings=1, foley=1.

    MBA vs. FRA

it was both varsity and jv. MBA's jv won 2-1 and FRA's varsity won 2-1.
  21. i am so happy to see FRA listed in almost EVERYONE's top 5 lists! i've heard we had a strong showing at CCS this weekend, and i'm glad people are takin notice of us and our ability! but teams like CAK and CCS will definitely put up a fight for us in the state tourney, god willing we get there.

    A/AA's best

fra's team is looking strong this year... they only lost 2 starters, who make no mistake will be missed, but were not essential to the team. key players, i would have to say would be alex mullins back at keep.. the man is a wall. they got a new player this year, junior john-mark, and he has amazing skill. i think he'll be playing sweeper? mark davenport in the middle is key... he holds it together. and up top daniel williamson and lucas foley are the big scorers. but seriously, every starter on that team has incredible skills. if we play the way we're capable of every game, i could see us taking state. just gotta watch and see i guess.
