Though both players are incredibly talented, it is definitely not clearly cut that Thad Young is the better player and has a better future than that of Wright. I was listening to ESPN radio when the NBA draft experts were on there comparing Brandan Wright with KG. They discussed the main difference in the two was the fact that Wright was an extremely better shot blocker with the best timing that these guys have ever seen. Thad Young may be the better high school player because the ball is in his hand at all times, but without a doubt Wright has the better upsize and better future in the pros.

As good as doc is, he could be better. Doc is a great defensive coach, but not an all around great coach. I admire doc and what he has accomplished, but the guy needs to put a little emphasis on offense. Yes the saying is "offense wins games and defense wins championships", but out of his last fours trips to state he has been bounced in the second round by very close margins. Why, because he doesn't have any offensive plays to rely on down the stretch, nor does he ever have a timeout to set up anything. Put his antics to the side, doc is one of a few coaches that i have ever seen that nevers quits or throws the towel in. People might complain about him running up the score, or antagonizing a ref with little time left with a huge lead, but all he is doing is coaching. Non stop full effort at all times. It is a fact that he gets the most out of what he has. The only D-1 players he has ever had is Niki Arinze (Mr. Basketball, Wake Forest), DJ Harrison (aquanis, then Colorado), and Brandon Lockridge (walk on TSU). Doc has proven his greatness, but he is still one step away from being put in the class of great coaches, if he was as great as some speak about him he would have had a college job a long time ago.

too much favortism towards the midstate baller guys, they are good player, but not nearly good as you make them sound. JP Prince is far and beyond either of the 2 delk twins.

I have not seen either team play since earlier in the season, but from what it looks like this should be a decent game. I would have to go with the home team in this case though, if it were still in Sparta I might go the other way. I don't really see Livingston Academy having too much trouble with these out of town teams on their home court until the championship.

you people are killing me by getting on here and boosting up your team or one of your friends you go to school with. this guy from portland is not a very unselfish player, he just never had a chance on that defense of MLK. MLK rarely has someone put up 20 points on them, they held Brandon Wright to 6 points and MLK doesn't have a player over 6"4'

IN my opinion, yes MLK will run away with the district again, but they are not as good as they could be. They are good on defense, but not as good as in years past. It seems as if doc shelton uses a different approach with his team this year with full court man to man rather than zone presses. He always gets more out of his players than their ability level as it was proved last season. But as the district AND REGION looks they should run through it and get beat in state. This could be the weakest district I have ever seen.
