  1. Grad from the nest...still rollin on coach t. i used to live on this thing my senior year of high school. thats been 2 years-not long, but thats good times. that year no-one expected lil ol Halls High School out of the same town as the "great" farragut to do anything and we end up puttin out west and middle TN and play in the champ for ourselves. THATS THE GAME OF BASEBALL. trojan classic-played in that a couple of times. thats a good tourny. the Oot and mccallie will be a good game! im umpiring tssaa in the knoxville organization now...couldnt get enough of it. good luck to all
  2. now i have to agree that there are some Halls fans that are annoying, but heck i remember being on the field and hearing those chants and loud yells and im telling you...it pumps you up!!! i mean some fans want to yell stuff that is totally off and stupid and you start thinkign about it at the plate and you start laughin and strike out (lol jk) but seriously its a good thing and there's not a dern thing wrong with it. im not jumping on this wagon because im from Halls, i'm saying this about anyone. i was voted most school spirit and ive got kicked out of basketball games and threatened at football games for being loud and stupid but when i talk to the boys and speaking for myself as an "ex-high school" athlete, it does something for you. it cant be taken away and if it does then the game nor any other sport in high school will be AS fun. though you see guys workign their tail-ends off trying to be the best player they can be to earn scholarships and whatever else in high school....take away what makes the game fun besides the simple joy of playing the game itself and you've got nothing. these boys are 14-18 years old. they're entitled to goof off and have fun and when the fans back them and have some fun with them its just all that much better. baseball is as fun as you make it...if you think working at it 24/7 with no laughs or grins or "side-note" happiness then so be it, but count how many 14-18 year olds that dont like to have fine WHILE taking the game serious.
  3. HTV- i got you now! i didnt know that. i knew he said he was going to last resign last year, but not this year. i had his wife at Halls-shes a lovely woman(one of my favorite teachers)...i would imagine its to be with his family for the most part. gomerkid-i know exactly who that is! LOL hopefully he will come out strong. tomorrow is my birthday so im not going ot be able to make it to the game. make me proud and beat farragut! its not that i hate farragut or anything-heck im not even in high school anymore, but state champ. game loss 3-1 thats killer and seeing the boys i played with take for a change would be nice. but phibbs better come out strong, but if he doesnt i know he's got a good arm behind him! good luck to both teams!
  4. uh oh is someone bitter about Cale? im jk. i like cale too. he was missed at Halls.

    Mikie Minor

you're crazy...the kid is a junior. 126 pitches is bad on anyone's arm. if i had 22 K's in 10 innings i would swell up and say my arm was fine too. and im not saying he's lying, but that puts alot on a young man's arm. cause think about it...if it was 10 innings then there had to be some major pressure situations where he had to swell up or many breaking pitches. no one's arm is "fine" after a 126 pitch, 10 inning game.
  6. thats what i loved most about that kid when i played last year. he does push himself to the point where he gets so upset at himself its kinda crazy, but besides the fact that he throws harder than many around here his heart is gold and focused and ready to play 110% everytime he walks on the field. great kid, great heart.
  7. sorry HTV that wasnt intended for you- just a general statement. (Coach Sharp as in the former coach for Karns)
  8. HTV- whats up man? gah i miss getting on here from last year and hearing what you and bizazz had to say all the time. always on top of it all. lol last night you couldnt move on the hill from the fence to the left of the foul poll all the way to center field. saw coach sharp there. he's a good guy-dont care what anyone says about him.
  9. 88 for Holland and 93 for Larsen is what was on a gun behind the plate
  10. it was about this time or actually earlier that Phibbs got his head on straight and was sitting them down with ground balls and such. last year was nasty when Halls and Farragut met in this "bragging rights" game, but i dont know about this year. Halls faced a decent pitcher last night and the umpire was ringing them up on some nasty pitches but it was def. both ways but as long as ive been there bad officiating has got in the heads of Halls players including myself. all that is besides the point-they faced a decent pitcher and didnt do so great with the sticks. they're gonna have to step it up. Farragut has proved that they can be beat this year so this will be a good spectating game. hope to see you all run through my home place here in Halls and watch a good ball game that basically means very little. lol **attendence last night was CRAZY at Halls-never seen that many people at that field-great showing my SD fans, Halls fans, and just the community itself**
  11. **yeah just excuse this name...this was my name last year when i played for Halls** first i want to start out saying im not being partial towards Halls because i played last year or anything but look at the facts. Halls has been on fire all year long. yeah their district is weak, but they can play ball from the top to the bottom. Their pitching is hott with Larsen pitching excellent and Lockwood following in behind him. This game will be a good one i do believe. All bragging aside, but it came down to a diving catch last year that i myself suffered a headache for a few days. but its gonna be a good game. Halls has alot of heart. i say a good game, but Halls comes out with their heads in the right place and they are on top.
  12. I'm not throwin in my predictions because i do not have a clue cause our football team was pretty bad all 4 years i was there, but how many games did Karns win last year? i know they had that game against DB i think it was. from watchin central last year i believe they will be a very good team-they lost lee smith(which had a pretty bad accident with his gf recently-keep him in your prayers)hes gone to powell and jackson and some linemen i believe -i see them contending but i wouldnt put them at the top over fulton or AE. i dont know about Powell and i dont know about Halls-all my support goes out to ya being 2003-04 most school spirit but i dont know-ill just leave it at good luck Gibbs may pull out more victories this year than anyone expects but i dont see em going far. these arent really predictions or how well i tihnk a team will do from 1-5 and you all might think im crazy but im just goin on what i saw last year and what i tihnk they are bringing back
  13. Halls is losing some but not a great deal-watch em again next year they are losing alittle bat and some defense from an excellent outfielder(LOL jk)
  14. early in the season i created a post "Most Underrated Team". there were a couple of posts on there and Knox Halls wasnt mentioned once. My intentions for this post arent to sound cocky but instead out of humble and proudness of my team. My high school career has been made exciting through baseball. Baseball has been my life since a very young age doing the whole open league deal and all the way up through high school ball. It has now come to an end-i will not play baseball again. Throughout my life i have been the big hitter and what stood out the most was my defense at shortstop and my pitching and catching at my early teens. But things changed in high school. My sophomore year i was midly ill and when i came back to practice i was moved to the outfield-never played outfield consitently. I really had no idea except my general knowledge of knowing the game and what each position should do generally. well my bat slacked off from a younger age and my defense stood out more. well to make a long story shorter than ive already made it(really long lol ) my bat wasnt there at the beg of my senior season-because of this i didnt see the plate but alittle over 20 times. i believe i was slumping but i never really got the chance to prove the bat i had had and the bat coach knew i had throughout the season. but my defense gave me playing time. i was a natural born outfielder i realized having several put outs w/o assits and several assists from center and right field. i made several diving catches. but the moral of this story is im encouraging you boys out there that worry about playing time...just play your hardest and and SUPPORT YOUR TEAM MATES!!! thats the key to winning-yeah i got mad ALOT(i even got upset when i didnt see my name in the AAA state champ game) but trying to be a leader i was behind my team and i encourage you to do that-it helps with your situation as well as theirs and victorys will follow. But anyhoo-have fun boys to every school in Tennesee-it's been real and its been fun-and i have to say its been real fun!!! congrats to my boys over here at Knox Halls for our state runner-up- NO ONE THOUGHT WE COULD DO IT, BUT WE GOT ER DUN! lol Thanks for the memories Coach T and everyone on it-much love goes out to all! im out B. White #12
  15. it's been fun coming home after a home or away game and seeing what you all had to say about us and other teams...we never got to much credit but it seems like we're getting it now....thank you all for the support. ill tell you all the truth i didnt imagine that we would be in the champ game....i knew that we had the ability(minus some defense) but i didnt think we had the mind set. Polston sat us down and had a talk with us a few games before district tourny and everything turned around. i planned early in the year for my senior trip to be this week after our loss to Camp Co but ive had so much fun and there is nothing more exciting than playing for a state tital against a cross town rival at a great ballpark. its been a blast and as a senior thanks for all the memories to all who have supported and even to the ones that put us down. im out B-DuB #12
  16. great season to both teams... ill miss my boys and im proud of all of you stepping up and getting done what needed to get done...Larsen pitched a heck of a game but waldrop did too. Halls hit the ball hard but right at people and 2 of the 3 runs were unearned...every run scored against us but 1 against Farragut in the champ game were unearned-Halls blew out many thoughts that people had and Farragut did exactly what everyone thought lol. it was a pretty close game though and im proud of both teams watch out for Halls next year-i say this being a senior-they arent losing much but some defense from some seniors and some bat from other seniors
  17. just curious what McGavock was bringing to the table Wednesday. Just alittle info if you dont mind.
  18. if hunters lane makes it out on top in the first game they will most likely have farragut...good luck! lol
  19. well now that the season has ended i think delmonico might be better than iorg! his batting average is exceptional from both sides of the plate!!! doesnt make hardly any errors and has a hose. cocky and has the right

    Halls @ DB

and the reason y this is so big to Halls is because this is like the second time in like 70 yrs has has gone to the fling-so sorry for sounding i guess you could say cocky-we're not cocky trust me-we're humble

    Halls @ DB

well thanx for the congrats from most of you all...and i dont know what to say to the sore people... we really didnt play really good last night...we played with heart more than anything im glad to see my buddy "gradfromthenest" kidna takin up for us after our little "get-in" after the trojan classic. appreciate it. there are many good teams in this state-ootelwah(sp) and teams among their calibar. we're gonna have to play with just more than heart in memphis. im glad to be going and that big win made it easy on my Memphis v. senior trip decision. this goes out to my boys that are PC right now-have fun and be careful-hate to miss it, but it's state-every high school athletes dream!!!!! congrats to the teams that made it to the show and my sorrow goes out to the seniors and others that got beat out.i could tell some of the DB players were pretty upset at the plate umpire last night and things got alittle crazy, but thats the kinda stuff that happens at sectionals-emotions run high and things get crazy. it's been fun though. like i said my congrats go out and so do my sorrow(i guess you could say).
  22. atlbraves-if im having a bad day i get on here to read what you write-you may hate us over here at Halls but the stuff you say and not criticizing anyone your crackin on but you crack me up with your comments.
