  1. Even though I'm not from either town,I will give my outlook on this Summertown program since I have seen them play twice this year and numerous times in the past. First they are very well coached and adapt to any type of defense thrown at them. Their coach has plenty of experience. Not familiar with Hamptons coach but it sounds as though he is very good as well. Advantage nobody. You won't keep Summertown off the freethrow line they attack and finish, get caught sagging to help they jummp stop kick and pop the 3. They are a tough defense assignment. If they are hitting(as for everybody) they are good really good. They leave it own the floor every time I saw them. Now if Hampton plays that hard it should be very interresting. Good luck to both teams!
  2. This is about CA not 12A or Forrest, but since you started. Forrest may not be the best in 9A no one ever said so or has ever said anything to be exact about Forrest being better than anybody. 12A is not that great either who has anybody beat in that district that is so great. Heck Summertown is on the downward spiral and are easy to figure out. They don't feed the post, they drive, they drive, and they force up bad shots. I got to see them at Forrest and they wasn't exactly breath taking, athletic but not great. Forrest is short and fast but thats it not very good this year either but has done the job so far. CA is the best team in the region and sub-state. They killed Lawrence Co. and Summertown was beat not once but TWICE by them. Yeah Summertown is so awesome. Can they make it to the sub-state ? Yes because of coaching and no.12. Will they who knows thats why you play the game? I hope Summertown does I think they are a quality program EVERY year but Vandychris is ignorant.
  3. LOL! Truth must hurt. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Calm down your scaring me with those threats of violence! He is such an intimidating man. Why don't you get mad at him for breaking a rule?
  4. I do know for a FACT this parent is very knowlegeable of the TSSAA rules because his child has been to THREE different schools in her high school career and eligible at all THREE without moving. He is also an educator and has coached in sports. It was obviously planned and would he have been sorry if he hadn't been caught? I think not! Question. Was the high school coach not there to do his own scouting? Can you not trade tapes with other scools? Do you have to cheat to win?
  5. Tonight's game was an eye opener for Forrest. They played very passive early on and Cascade took it to them. Congrats to Cascade on a very well played game. How was the game not as close as the score indicated. 51-51 with a minute to go. The shooter for Cascade hit a huge three pointer and got fouled that put Cascade up 4. Cascade won, good job you deserved it. As far as the officiating, well it was bad I agree all the way around. And as far as the turnovers, well that was what Forrest is capable of doing if they play with intensity like they showed in the fourth quarter where they overcame a 14 point deficiet. Good luck to both teams.
  6. Forrest vs. Van Buren should be a heck of a game. Shankle vs. Smith should be a heck of a match up. Shankle is playing good , even though fresh has said enough. Shankle's teammates are really playing well too and are capable if Shankle is doubled. Van Buren looks to have momentum also and has two really good players to watch. We are all biased, not trying to mend bridges, but we here at Forrest respect all teams and look foward to a great game. I would also like to add that the addition of Van Buren has really strengthened our district. I just hate the long drive for yall and us. Be safe and good luck. GO ROCKETS!
  7. The siegal forrest game score was 70 siegal 54 forrest. It might not make that much of a difference coach but it does for a good effort by the forrest boys.
  8. What team are you refering to about being great? I don't believe that was ever mentioned in earlier posts. Van Buren will be solid all year and they will continue to get better, no doubt. Hopefully Forrest will continue to improve as well. The next match up will be fun and I'm sure adjustments will be made. I believe both teams played sloppy due to the fact they had to get a feeling for one another. Good luck VB and I do like the point you made about pride. Remember we all love and support our teams to the death.
  9. I'm sorry all Van Buren Fans, but you have an average team. Forrest played way down tonight also, so don't use that as your excuse either. It is also clear that you are more of an English teacher than basketball guru yourself sledgehammer1 . Forrest should have put Van Buren away early but turned the ball over against a very weak defense. Summertown or Culleoka would have smoked Van Buren. Now can Van Buren beat Forrest? They sure can, and they may just do it next time because right now Forrest is just an average team as well. But remember Forrest came up to your place and got the jod done in front of a great home crowd. There is nothing like winning on the road. Good luck to both teams they really need it. They may be the two best teams in the new district, but it is early and there is a lot of basketball left. Everybody better kept there guard up against Eagleville and Cascade.
  10. you're wrong, the tennessean has eagleville first go check it out on line
  11. SUMMERTOWN 80+ RICHLAND 45 (IF LUCKY) SUMMERTOWN IS FASTER IN EVERY POSITION EXCEPT AT THE ASSISTANT COACH!
  12. Ballar88 will all know you are from Cascade so don't try and say " we here in Chapel Hill ", however you are right Gallagher did all he could do and has nothing to hold his head down for. Congrats Forrest and just play as hard as you can no matter the score, we are proud of you, win or lose!
  13. Hey Del, Did you like your kids listening to Elvis back in the 50's? What about your grandchildren wearing daisy dukes in the 80's? It's a fad and something worse will be next, get over it.
  14. Do your homework before you post something that is completely false. Forrest plays Independence,LaVergne, York, Cannon Co., Page, and DeKalb Co. this year and in the past years they have played Summertown( they dropped us this year) Tullahoma, and others that do hurt our record maybe up front but help us down the road. They may win it, they may not, but if you base your championship on strength of schedule beware cause Forrest is doing their part to get themselves ready also. But I totally agree with you about playing tougher competion.
  15. Everybody is intitled to their opinion even if it is wrong! Get what you can this year cause it will be to much Forrest for the next 3 or even maybe this year.
  16. What corrections are you talking about for Forrest? Forrest has possibly the most talented freshman class to come through this district since who knows when, and will be a headache for all teams the next four years. Moore Co. is and should be the favorite and has plenty of talent to hold their own in the district the next year or so. Huntland may surprise people and finish in the top 4 but they lack depth and point guard play to make a run at repeating.
  17. I totally agree about Sara, she seems to be a great assistant coach. But on the lighter side Tipps will have a slew of sideline coaches and to be honest they do know the game well, I'm just wondering if he will be able to handle his players looking at daddy? Will he fell intimidated or will he shake the foundations? From what I saw during games Coach Sessions never looked concerned about those guys, she was confident of her skills as a coach and leader. But if those guys smell blood they seem to be the type that would tell Tipps what he needs to be doing!
  18. If from a earlier post is accurate then if the main 5 is out or wore out, you're telling us that their bench is weak and how can you dominate with a weak bench? Sounds like excuses are already being made for even let downs this summer. Let their playing do the talking and from what I remember they will be good but they can and will suffer loses this year(even from single A schools)!
  19. Has Tipps any head coaching experience in high school? If not how can you determine if he is one of the best in the district, region, state, or for that matter in your own county? I will have to say he probably will have the best assistant coaches on the sideline in the state. But he has inherited a good solid team and they should be the favorites. Forrest will be very inexperienced and young but very deadly and should be the second best team in the district and ready for Moore Co. come tourny time. Good luck to all!
  20. Bottom line is the Eagles did play as well as they could, Forrest is just better. Ask yourself this, did the Eagles rest on this summers performance? Who knows how well we will fair the rest of the season, I promise you this game meant nothing but our first win of the season, heck we knew if we couldn't beat Eagleville it would be a long season. But we won and you'll get your chance next year. We've got our hands full getting ready for our next game and the three after that.
  21. Both teams played extremely hard and was exciting to watch. Rockets played a great second half and showed what they are capable of doing if they can manage to play that hard for both halfs. Eagleville is greatly improved and very fast and is now a real threat every Friday night. #10 and 17 for Eagleville impressed me the most. Byrd hands down put the Rockets on his back and the rest followed and picked up their game as well. Keep leading them Byrd!!!! One last thing, I want to thank Mrs. Holton for coming to OUR town and selling doughnuts. This really pumped us up. Keep up the work and those doughnuts are sweeter than ever now!
  22. Jamar is as good as any player in A,AA,AAA,DII.etc. He can play several positions and has great range on his jumper. Who have you talked to btru23 in the district? I've heard he has several schools interested in him now Western Kentucky, Western Carolina, College of Charleston, McNeese State, UL Laffette, Arkansas St., Winthorp, to name a few and that list came from Coach McClaran. I believe I know who you are and I think you use to coach against him. People use to think Casey Holt wasn't that good either and he is at North Alabama so go figure. He is a very good player and should be in the running and I doubt seriously that coaches in his district would not vote for him seeing that this would be great for the district as well. FHS class of 95! Good luck Jamar and lead your team to victory!
  23. The real question is "Who gives Forrest a better chance of winning the game playing the QB spot?" 12 is athletic with good speed, but 14 can air it out. I don't know, but it should be a good game if Forrest can keep it close with their defense. Secondary is probably the main concern for Forrest on Defense. Forrest 21 Wayne Co. 20
