  1. Totally agree with Wes....not going to happen though. I just can see why the Association is just so indifferent and futher so inept in dealing with the public that ultimately it counts on for support. People accept that mistakes are going to be made but anyone will tell you that its how you deal with mistakes that matter. And hubris and arrogance in any business never work in the long term. It's like they just don't know any better. As an aside, what on earth is this association doing with almost $2 million in cash while almost every athletic department in TN is strapped for cash?
  2. Yes I am sure that both schools have been communicated with and have been given explanations. Like the previous poster mentioned, this Association suffers from a real image problem and while its a small item, it would not be out of line and yet so appropriate to offer an open apology.....something like "the Assocation regrets this error and the inconvenience it may have caused these schools and fans and has taken the appropriate steps to minimize the chances of a repeat error." "Further, SS fans will be admitted free of charge to the game to help defray the added costs of travel", instead of the matter of fact rules dribble as if it was the regulations fault and not thiers. SS is going six hours to play a first round game and if lucky will get to do it again the next week all the while incuring cost becasue of a mistake that seems to be of a repeating nature as the press release so proudfully boasts. Add on top of this jacked ticket prices once you get there, half of which goes to an Association that enjoys a tremendous financial position versus individual programs that beg and plead for donations to make ends meet and you end up feeling a bit queezy about the boys from Brentwood. This was not the Associations best moment and a little humble pie or remorse never hurt anyone or anything.
  3. Nope Cleveland is out and South Sullivan in...have to drive 6 hours to play in first round game...how screwed up is that. TSSAA says they will pay for travel cost meaning the member schools pay for mistake. If you want to get really agitated consider that pay and benefits have increased almost 40% in the past three years. By the way...you want to buy a discount card?
  4. Good post Voice...this should not be all that complicated when you consider that only a handful of teams are in this bucket to begin with. And if its that complcated after all these years, it doesn't take a brain surgeon to conclude it needs to be changed. As for seeing the topic on this site, the TSSAA has stated it doesn't read the paper or view this site, listen to coaches or parents. For didn't you know, they are already everything they ever ought to be. What is really so disturbing here however is the lack of candor in what really happened with all this that has so affected so many people. Who sets the brackets and what are the steps to insure accuracy or is the potential adverse effect to some 300+ familes just not that important? Both South and Cleveland deserve a better explanation as to how all this could have come about just as the TSSAA would have demanded the same. This organization does have good people but its arrogance is quite noteworthy.
  5. Nice work MountainTroll....why on earth am I and my kids selling these discount cards to raise a couple of bucks when these guys and this association are making the type of money they do? Surely the Control Board sees this stuff. The Board is comprised of ADs I believe and know what shape most programs are in. What on earth is going on here?
  6. TSSAA makes over half a million dollars a year and sits on about $1.7 miilion in cash not to mention the gross increase in salary and benefits comp over the past three years..I don't know why some of that cash is not redistributed back to cash staved athletic programs.
  7. I too feel for the TSSAA...people do make mistakes and ultimately the right team needs go...perhaps the TSSAA should allocate part of thier half a million dollar + yearly profits to help Sullivan South defray part of the travel cost of its mistake.
  8. GR needs a life....please help him/her
  9. This one got ugly fast and could have been much worse. Did Cleveland play well or did WV just play bad.
