  1. You are correct, ptguard12. That is where they are based.
  2. It should as long as Team Pride ends up in the top 3 or 4, which I have no doubt that they will.
  3. If I'm not mistaken, Laquinta Brown or Jefferson is on this team. She is playing up as she is really a 13 yr. old. Last I heard, she attends LaVergne Middle School and was an 8th grader, this past year. A heck of a player...
  4. Ok, I was just curious. Thanks for always being so helpful!
  5. Very interesting, ptguard12. I am just wondering since you are always so knowledgable, are these predictions, on some of these teams, based mostly on last year's teams & their players and what you are speculating based upon that combined with any changes to this year's teams or have you seen all of these guys play this year? Just let me know. Thanks.
  6. Those are the only 4 teams that I am aware of. They went to Division II Nationals last year and I don't believe any of the TN teams feared that well except that the Lady Belles ended up staying through the end and finished as the Runners Up in the Classic Division, mostly due to an extremely rough pool.
  7. Ok, ptguard12, what are your thoughts on the South Middle Sub-State? I have a feeling I know what you are going to predict, but just entertain me! If you don't already know, you have TN Wings vs. Lady Belles and SSS vs. Chattanooga Hotshots, I believe. Let me know what your insightful thoughts are...
  8. What happened to the twin (I believe) girls that played for them? If they haven't ended up anywhere, have them contact me...
  9. The TN Lady Tigers out of CPA are playing this year and have played 2 different sets of girls as 13-U in 2 tourneys that I know of for sure. Cleve is coaching them and does have an assistant or 2 with him. The 1st team that I saw at the Heritage Invitational was stronger than the 2nd team that I saw at the Phi Slamma Jamma this weekend. I know the 1st team at Heritage went 2-1 loosing to the Lady Belles and the 2nd team lost at least once to the Lady Belles and must have lost at least one other game to someone else because they were 2nd in their Pool but didn't come back to face the Lady Belles on Sunday in the semi-final game.
  10. There are 15 teams in the 11/12 bracket and 8 in the 9/10 bracket. They have the brackets and games posted now at: http://www.showtimebball.com/tournaments/d...hedule_pool.doc I understand the need for rest, but if you do make it down, we will all enjoy your insightful commentaries on the board here. If you do make it down, let me know and maybe I can finally meet the highly esteemed ptguard! You can email me at sassybmanmom@yahoo.com if you are coming!
  11. Elite, Have you been able to obtain a schedule? I checked both this site and the showtime site yesteday and haven't seen one. Today the showtime site won't come up for some reason. When I received an email from Matt on Sunday he was stating that the schedule should be up by the end of the day. I have attempted to email him without any response. If you could let me know, I would appreciate it! Thanks.
  12. We used Karen Booker, former Vandy player, WNBA player. She also coached and is currently a ref. The last cell phone # I had for her was 406-2216. She was really good and everyone since has complimented my daughter on what a beautiful shot she has. If you can't reach her there, she used to give lessons at the Williamson County Rec Center in Franklin. They may be able to give you a better #. Their # is 790-5719. Good Luck!
  13. The Murfreesboro Lady Belles are looking for either 10-U or 11-U players to add to our team. Although we did not qualify for the State Tourney, we will still be playing through June. Our practices are from 5pm-7:30pm, Wednesdays, at Bellwood Elementary School in Murfreesboro. If you are interested, please contact Coach Kelby Ferrell, 615-893-7968, or email sassybmanmom@yahoo.com.
  14. Last year when I started looking, I contacted Peanut Cummins, the TN Director for AAU, and he emailed a list of AAU teams to me. He was very helpful. I just decided on a certain distance that I was willing to travel and called all the teams within that distance. Thank goodness we ended up on a great team! His email is peanut@tngirlsbasketball.com or 423-566-5167. (You can visit www.tngirlsbasketball.com.) As well, you can check the Sports section of the Tennessean and it lists teams that are looking for players. Finally, some other options are to contact the Director of your city league or your PE teacher. They might have some leads for you. By the way, it isn't too late for any of the teams to add a non AAU member if they aren't going to the State or Nationals. She could just join a "travel team" or an AAU team that didn't make it to the State. Hope this helps and good luck!
  15. fullcourtpress22, I am just curious if I am familiar with your organization. May I ask who you are with? I was just trying to figure out if we have seen any of your players...this is purely curiousity. If you aren't comfortable letting me know, I understand. Based upon the post in reference to the Sparks and Belles having players to assist at Nationals, that would be a wise idea, if anyone is looking to add any additional players. I know last year that after the State, the Top Guns added a girl from TN Lady Tigers. (I believe that was the team she was from.) Smart move on their part, because she was a good addition and if we would have thought to add anyone, she would have been a good guard candidate. In my opinion, you can never be too deep so I think it is wise if teams have space to add some more quality players to represent TN strongly at the Nationals.
  16. Belles lost in OT to Express by 4 (either 58-54 or 68-64, I believe) then went on to lose by 5 in OT against the Chattanooga Hotshots (don't recall the exact score, something like 40-35). TN Express will have played against the Top Guns for 1st, by now. Hotshots will face either Lewisburg Lightning or TN Extreme in the round at 9am in the morning in the loser's bracket. The winner of that game will face the loser of the Top Guns/Express game for 2nd.
  17. 12-U South Middle... TN Extreme beat Lady Falcons in the 1st round and then Lady Belles beat TN Extreme in round 2. Not sure if Shelbyville beat Team TN in the first round but in round 2 Lewisburg Lightning beat one of them. (The uniforms were blue, gold and white, I believe.) Those are the only 2 brackets that I know about for sure. 3rd round will have the Belles squaring off against either Express A (who probably beat Grassland Thunder, but that is just a guess since I haven't seen Grassland) or the TN Voyagers. Never heard for sure who it was. Lewisburg will probably be playing Top Guns who probably beat either TN Express B or Chattanooga Hotshots. Will update as soon as I can tomorrow. Sorry you had to miss it!
  18. Here is the list as referenced on www.tngirlsbasketball.com: 2005 State Dates (Host Clubs): 10, 17, 19 April 29 – May 1, 2005 (West TN Lady Tigers) 11, 15 May 6 – 8, 2005 (Memphis Lady Elite) Hotel Information Division II May 13 – 15, 2005 (TN Team Pride) 9 May 13 – 15, 2005 (TN Team Pride) 14, 16 May 13 – 15, 2005 (TN Ladies) 12, 13 May 20 – 22, 2005 (Motlow Sports Club)
  19. South Middle begins this weekend and will only last the duration of the weekend, unlike the others that carry over to a 2nd weekend.
  20. I can tell you that the Belles are missing their starting Post player. She was injured in the Tullahoma Tournament the weekend before Easter and will miss the Sub-State, which does sting. In the previous match up when the Belles beat the Sparks by 8 at Ravenwood, I believe, she only contributed 6 but her defense, as usual, was a contributing factor. She did miss the Heritage Invitational, but I can tell you that the Belles didn't show up as their usual selves and the Sparks are a fierce competitor. I recall last year, with the strong team that the Belles had, that in the last match up against the Sparks, (I believe), the Belles won in the final seconds of the game by a 3 pointer from Laquinta. So, definitely don't count them out. I am not sure if they have added anyone or not, but I didn't find their posts particularly short, by any means. Either way, all of the Sub-States should prove quite entertaining and everyone should see some good ball! I am excited about the prospects of the TN teams making quite a showing at the Nationals this year!
  21. Where did you get the bracket info? Have you heard what weekend this will be held? All I have heard is speculation of next weekend, 4/8-4/10. Please advise and if you can, provide further details. I would really appreciate it. As well, I would definitely say the Top Guns are the team to beat at the Sub-State. Not sure about #2 spot since I haven't seen all of the teams that are being discussed. Thanks for clarifiying, ptguard...I was confused about the Franklin Fury team, as well. We have played them on several occasions when we have played up and I knew they were good, but I had no idea that they had been to the Nationals. (I knew they had played together for a few years.) One thing to keep in mind though, is that last year Franklin had another team, Gold, I believe. They weren't too shabby either and I know of at least 1 player that was playing up in the 12-U's with them last year. The Grassland team, which is also the same area that the Franklin team is from, could have been put together with some of the Gold players along with some local M.S. talent...??? Just a guess, but if anyone else can contribute, that would be welcomed. Thanks.
  22. Last year towards the end of the AAU season, I heard that the female coach was moving to Nashville to be closer to her daughter, who was going to college, I believe. Does anyone know if that took place or if she is still coaching the Top Guns this year? Any insight that anyone can provide, would be great.
  23. The only player that I know about is Laquinta who moved up from the 12-U M'boro Lady Belles to play 13-U for Tiffany....If anyone is familiar with her...Enough said!!!!
  24. My bad, I asked my son and he thought that was the score. I knew they were a softball team and I thought they were pretty strong for basketball not being their primarily focused sport.
  25. Semi-Finals: Lady Belles beat the Team Worth 31-11, I believe. Finals: The Lady Belles beat the Lady Blazers, 38-24, in an amazing fight! Great job, Ladies! thumb
