They stay in 4-A for the $$$$$$$$$. More gate when the teams your playing are not comming up from Chatt. or down from Bristol. Did you play basball at Powell. I know two great kids from there

Simple, more of the same on Friday evening. The Maryville defense rose the top. They are on cruise to the Boro. Melrose will be a different story. A runner up year for the Rebels. All in all not bad if you had been offered that before the season started.

I'm not defending Fulmer. With that said, Tennessee has to look outside the state. There are roughly 300 high schools in Tennessee and out of that on average only 10 to 15 players each year that have the ability to play D-1. Florida, Alabama, Georgia have double the number and sometimes triple the number of schools. With Scholorship limits schools now look to fill holes. Tennessee has not had a good TE since Whitten left for Dallas. Thus they are looking at Smith. They had large group of running backs on scholorship when Stewart was in the recruiting mix and if i'm not wrong I think they wanted him to play defense. With that they cannot just take a chance on a local kid. The sad fact is that all of the players seniors down to freshman on offense have not improved ffrom one year to the next. That's coaching plain and simple.

I mean, he got hurt when soph's and a few freshman were playing. Yes he did lead the defense and made a key stop during the drive that stoped Melrose. He is a good kid, but you have to admit that he and Lawhon have played limited roles this there senior year.

Valentine and Lawhon might not play? Ok they have not played half of the snaps this season. Valentine got hurt again last week during scrub time in the 4th. Look for the game to be close at half time and GQ making all the adjustments and sending Powell home for the season. It will be typical business like Maryville football.

Maryville wins everywhere, so no reason to think that they will not Friday Night. I'm so sure they will I'm not going. Pay 2 bucks less and watch former Rebel Andy Tipton play Tennessee at the tommy Bowl.

You know this for a fact about Maples. Yes he is good but not SEC good. His receiving TD's are some what of a by- product of the QB's only looking for him. When I saw a catch Friday night by #9, I was like , Wow why don't they throw to him or that big tight end #88 more. Good luck to him if that is the case!!

Folks, anyone who thinks Halls has a chance at Maryville belives that UT will be playing in a BCS game.It just will not happen. Maryville is to strong and has the best coach in the state at all levels except for possibly Fisher.

Maryville by 28 or more in a tune up for Halls. Already picking Maryville in that one by 21. It's clear that Maryville, Central and a improving Mo West team are the only strong teams in East Tennessee this year.

Oh they will beat Sevier Co. Maryville, and West on any given day.

I like Maryville as much as anybody. Living in Alabama and Florida I can tell you that Maryville would not even sniff the top of the polls. High School is so much better in other Southern States than Tennessee. Just look at all of the talent that Tennessee has to get out of state.

It did not help that your starting catcher transfered to Farragut and Jewbel is at MTSU tearing it up so far this fall!!

I know they are playing inner squad, but who has stepped up this fall. big shoes to fill. Coach Pharr does a teriffic job.
