    Henry County

No, I was only stating my opinion. You mean that Henry Co. does not have kids that could play football but they are devoting all their time to soccer? If the soccer season is only in the spring and football in the fall and the kids play both then I suppose it would be fine. But how many kickers do you need on a football team? I am by all means a "wannab" as are most that post here but will not admit it. I claim to know nothing. I can however say in my opinion, it seems that the soccer program has gotten bigger as the football fades away. Is that the only reason? I'm sure its not because you have those kids with cars that need jobs and don't have time to play either. But you also have those kids that would rather talk about how sorry the football team is while watching the games half drunk and smoking a cigarette. I will say that this one thing that I do know, "I am the best coach I know while sitting in the stands on Friday night." Best of Luck to the Patriots and I hope they turn things around soon.

I don't know much about this particular subject but I will say this: Living in McKenzie I do keep up with the Patriots from week to week but it seems that since the SOCCER program started to get big the football program hit the pits. Back in the early to mid 90's Henry County was a shoe in for 2nd or 3rd when Brentwood Academy and MBA were still in their region and the teams from Clarksville, with the exception of NW could not hold a hat to them. As Soccer grew the patriot numbers seemed to dive. At the jamboree in Huntingdon this year I think they only had between 40 - 50 players on a 5A team (just a guess, I did not count them) Read into this post as you please but I can tell you Soccer and Football do not mix in my book. Call me anti-soccer and thats OK because Soccer in itself is not an American sport. I would rather be anti-soccer than anti-American. I believe they call Soccer "Football" over seas. I will give Australia props for playing Rugby because that seems more like football with out pads.
  3. better Comparative of good. 1. Greater in excellence or higher in quality. (you might have me on this one but both teams are quality teams Huntingdon may have been greater in excellence that night) 2. More useful, suitable, or desirable. (I do not desire Huntingdon over McKenzie as you would not desire McKenzie over Huntingdon) 3. Larger or greater (If we are talking number of players per team then I guess you got me on the greater part but on the larger part McKenzie weighed more per 11) 4. Healthier than before. (my guess is that both teams are less healthy after that game) You only asked if I would admit we got beat by a better team and I answered no, by my definition. If you would ask did you lose the ball game? I would say yes. Did McKenzie lose by a large margin? depends on your definition of large As Phillip Fulmer would say " Hats off to Huntingdon" and as Bill Clinton would say "depends on your definition of what "is", is."
  4. No offense SFfan but I do not think South Fulton would want to tangle with Huntingdon or McKenzie. By using the double negative (aint and no) you are saying that you do not have a defense.
  5. No, we still think we are better.
  6. Thank you PapaJohn for a decent post.

    3-way tie

Same question, this could happen in Region 6 2A. Some of you smart people figure this out.

    Region 6-2A

If Camden wins and Adamsville looses then Camden is in at #3, Chester County is #4 If Camden and Adamsville lose then it gets complicated because...... Camden looses and Riverside beats Adamsville then you have 3 teams (Camden, Adamsville, Riverside) with 1 - 4 region records. I believe they go with the head to head matchup first which would still not settle it since Camden beat Riverside, Adamsville beat Camden, and Riverside beat Adamsville. (or would it, I may need some help on this too) If the next tiebreaker is best record then Camden would have it. (correct?) According to TanktTalk if Camden Looses and Riverside Beats Adamsville then Camden has the #4 spot and Chester County is #3 If Camden looses and Adamsville wins, then Adamsville is #4. Camden is out. Check me on this.

You know, if someone goes after this one, we have way too many lawyers in this country that are hungry for attention. By the way, two Rebels on the West Side. Obion County and McKenzie.
  10. I was not at the game but from what I have been told others at this game was that Mitchell players and fans were nothing but a class act. It's possible that they got a bad rap from the Milan game. Good luck to both teams. If I had to pull for one team or the other, it would be Mitchell. If I had some Tarot cards I might could make a prediction.
  11. I heard Santa Claus was being considered.

  13. I do not think TN counties with only one high school could be compared to Shelby County. Although, it is good that you support all of your county teams. The best I could do to try and top that would be to say that Carroll County had 4 high schools (Huntingdon, West Carroll, Bruceton, and Mckenzie)of 5 represented in the TSSAA playoffs the 5th being Clarksburg (which does not have a football program). 2 made it to the Quarterfinals and 1 is in the Semi-finals. So I could say that 100% of the high schools with a football program made the playoffs. I may be wrong, but Lewis County, Decatur Co. (Riverside), and Obion County(2 - OC and UC) could also state that they had 100% of their county teams in the TSSAA playoffs. I would guess there are several more. 14. Well done J.T. Back to Page one where this post belongs.
  15. I agree with greenjeans. Everyone wants their team to win so if they do, move on. If they lose, move on. I am in the rebel stands every Friday night if we win then 30 minutes of celebration and congratulations are good enough to sink in but then move on. If we lose then 5 minutes of Darn, Darn, Darn a couple of excellent memories from the previous wins and then move on. There are bigger fish to fry.
  16. He is from McKenzie. I heard the bushes might be shaking around Bruceton's coach for the job who is from Camden.
