A story from a few years ago at Vanderbilt stadium. After my Rebels had disposed of Brentwood Academy in the 1978 AA finals, and beat them for the second time in 3 years, I went to Men's restroom and inside met an interesting young fellow. As we stood there, this young man said he was a Brentwood Academy fan and didn't really care who won because he was too young. However the poor little fellow had tears in his little eyes. I gave him the hankerchief out of my pocket and he wiped his eyes. He then thanked me, looked me over very closely and said, "Mister not only do I envy your football team, I envy you."

I heard the reason O.R. won't play Maryville is because after the Wildcats were beaten a couple of years ago by 3-A Anderson County, that they didn't want to be embarrassed on a regular basis by a 4-A school.

The Bobcats get outrecruited and beat down again.

A good job by our team. Mrs. Smilin' Bob and me, Smilin' Bob, had a great time at the Triple Tree. I was hoping, when I correctly predicted that the Rebels would be returning with a Gold Ball on Dec. 4, that I would also get to see the Golden Wildcat Band. Unfortunately, they did not get to the game. Nothing gets Mrs. Smilin' Bob in the mood faster than good halftime entertainment.

The Rebels scored all most as much as me last night, Smilin' Bob.

If the Rebels turned the ball over 25 times the Halls boys would not win. They got mashed up front. My boys in Red and Black stunk it up no question. But these Halls cough drops are not nearly strong enough. Head coach Gary Shepperd said this was his strongest line since 1996 and they did surprise me for the whole game in how weak they were.
