  1. Hope so. I believe region 4 will fair a little better this year than we did last year in the playoffs.
  2. I am not from either of these places but I do agree that this site should not be a place to degrade a high school kid. I also agree that all of this negative talk will divide and split the team. Let the coaches coach, the players play and the fans support them both. Every fan wants what is best for their team but very rarely do they know all the ins and outs that actually go on. If you are winning or losing, you have to do so with dignity. That is what leaders do and that is what the kids will follow. If you want to start pointing fingers and throwing around accusations or excuses, they will follow that too. That is the losers way of dealing with it. Teach the kids to be a winner and to handle defeat and adversity when it comes along as well. That is what high school sports is all about. Isn't it?
  3. They will contiue to improve if they can keep from getting discouraged, remain enthusiastic and stay focused in the off-seasons.
  4. They do have more talent than they have had in a while. Not exceptionally fast but shifty and strong. Smith has good speed and Davis is pretty good in the open field. Alexander will remind you alot of an Alstot, not sure on that spelling, type of back. You have to hit him quick. Secondary kids have a very tough time bringing him down. Randolph runs good routes and has great hands, not extremely fast but tough to cover none the less. Their O-line is better this year as well. Defensively they will run to the ball but are disciplined and seem to know their assignments. As on O, Smith and Alexander are their best two defenders. Randolph is a good cover corner. TC doesn't have the speed or athleticism that they have had in years past. I'm sure they are getting better. They run some high risk, high reward schemes on D and do a good job of disguising it. Satterfield is obviously their biggest threat with Marco having big play potential as well. I think their line is about even with G-villes if they are all there and healthy. I wouldn't be surprised by anything that happens in this game. It's in G-ville and that is a nice advantage for them.

  6. They are still really young and I think their depth may be a big problem.
  7. I'll be glad when this week is over. We need the bye.
  8. To the best of my knowledge, SC has never been in 1A. Yes, we have two 1A teams on our schedule. They are TC and G-ville. Both bring good gates. Both are close to home and both have solid programs that help us get better. What's wrong with playing someone like that? As far as scheduling Goodpasture or BA, I think KC is good enough right now to beat the pasture and give BA a great game. I would like to play the pasture again though. They are the only team we never beat in our previous 2A region and we had a couple of excellent chances that fell just a bit short.
  9. I honestly don't really think this game is a showdown between Smith and Satterfield. Smith, honestly, has more talent around him with Alexander and Randolph. That kid can catch any ball thrown near him. I would say that Blake will be going to his side all night. He is by far G-ville's best WR. I also think that G-ville will have to run something besides counter and QB keep play. TC will adjust to that like we did. Can TC move the ball? I don't know. I haven't seen them with Blake being back. I think they will try to get him the ball alot, though. This game, IMO, will come down to adjustments and players making plays. TC has the advantage in one and G-ville in the other. You can figure that one out for yourself. If it's high scoring, I go with G-ville. If it's low scoring, TC will make a great call to win the game. Special teams and turnovers will be huge as well.
  10. Got to pull for YAI in this one as bad as I hate too. If they win it practically locks us in as region champs. AGAIN!!!!!! Got to pull for YAI in this one as bad as I hate too. If they win it practically locks us in as region champs. AGAIN!!!!!!
  11. We'll be there. Ready and waiting.
  12. Good luck Owls. Make your homecoming a great and memorable one Seniors. Hope everyone from Macon has a safe ride down and a safe but long ride home. Wishing for an injury free great game. SC 28 MC 14
  13. No whining going on here. What do I have to whine about? Our team out played you, out coached you, had more discipline and more class than you. Next, there is no such thing as an illegal chop block in the tackle box. All is fair down there. O-lines all across the state do it for a number of reasons. None of which is to intentionally hurt somebody. I know for a fact that our D-line works against all the time. It's a part of football. Sounds like you are the one whining about that. However, what do you call it when one of your players hits another player square in the back, down field, after the play, in the first quarter of a 0-0 ball game? I call it cheap, low class and NO discipline. Playing hard, aggressive, between the whistles and sidelines, with class and respect for the other team-that's what good teams do. Good luck the rest of the year. Stay injury free and I hope to see you again in week 12. Maybe then you can learn to lose with dignity and class.
  14. You mean the first game after the wreck right? Why would you put the back up QB in and take out Alexander? He is dog gone good. Take him out and your threat becomes singular rather than the double threat it is now. Just food for thought. G-ville wins this one big. Bigreid, I personally believe your deal is a safe one.
  15. Guess that answers that question. What happened? I would say that special teams and turnovers played a major part, as they do in all close games.
  16. The thing is, when Macon loses, they lose bad. When they win, it's very, very close so far this season. I wonder what happens if the Owls are able to make a two TD run on the scoreboard? How is their running game? I remember #10 from last year and I know he's back. Are they using him much?
  17. Have eyes in the back of your head LA. They hit late. They hit out of bounds. They hit square in the back. And, YES, it's on film. The players will see it. And, no, it wasn't just frustrations late in the game. They did it the whole time. They had two or three of them against Macon and at least two, that were called that is, against us. One of them even got kicked out for throwing punches. You need to work on that YAI. Good luck LA.
  18. Don't forget about #s 2, 4 and 15. All JR.s. UHH OHH... Still good things to come in SC after this year too.
  19. About the only way you will surprise us is to play females. No offense to the gender but seriously...
  20. To Fat Head...Whatever! As far as this game with Macon County... I hope their WRs have some speed. If not, they won't get open. I hope their O line has learned to pick up a blitz. If not, WRs and QB won't matter. Lastly, I know they can't run on us. Good luck though. It's gonna be a long night in the hole for your O.
  21. YAI has BY FAR the dirtiest most cheap shotting team I have ever seen. It wasn't just late either. To anyone who plays them, you better have eyes in the back of your head. They think they are tough when they can hit somebody in the back.
  22. I hear ya. Being in that region was like a playoff game every week. YAI has no clue what they are going into tonight. I'm glad we do. We have been playing in this type of game for a long time.
  23. Don't know when and, no, I can't imagine it.
