  1. Cope of Maryville is a very talented Center Fielder. She hits the ball with incredible power and has a very good arm. Her speed isn't to shabby either..
  2. To maybe throw another name out there...But Alicia Vance of maryville has a great arm and hits the ball pretty well with a good combination of power and contact. She makes for an intimidating foe behind the plate.
  3. As of right now, Jimmy isn't at maryville, GQ has said that the rumors aren't true...and even if they were he would probably not start for maryville, this has been cade's show for the past 3 years and it's worked just fine. If Clausen does come to maryville thought it will definetly help the underclassmen.
  4. Gaylor does a great job with maryville, along with their other great coachs...their success shows it.
  5. In some cases defeat teaches a lesson, it taught a very valuable lesson to the maryville team, coaches, and fans. However, sometimes defeat does not teach that lesson. This is proved by the behavior of Alcoa teams, coaches, and most definetly their fans. In some cases the only way to show someone that they have no right to say anything at all is to get right down on their level, this tends to be the case for Alcoa. Year after year maryville wins, but yet year after year Alcoa has the nerve to say they will win next year. It's getting old, Aloca needs to actually win a game before they deserve to "talk trash", or talk at all for that matter.
  6. Maryville has very good depth this year with Andrew Clement, Stephen Childs, and Ryan Jenkins. Ryan has not really been talked about much because of his absence at spring practice but he will play a very big roll next year. Tyler Maples and Kirk Harris will support these receivers well.
  7. I'll agree with that comment starsnbars
  8. The govs wont win their region this year...Their new coach needs time to rebuild that program. I'm sure in a few years maybe they'll be in contention, but not this year.
  9. Like I posted early, i'm going to have to go with Rebelraider here...It's not even a rivalry anymore, it's just pretty much Maryville dominating Alcoa again and again... Alcoa needs to focus on teams in 2A. Maryville is just to powerful for them to overcome.
  10. Just for the record, I was at the MHS AHS basketball game, i saw tipton make the shot, i saw MHS flood the floor(similiar to football games) and I'm pretty sure I saw myself and others, taunt the AHS "pit", saw them sit there, only wish i could have been at applebee's... because if someone thinks that one person represents the entirety of MHS, i suggest they take a further look into the school. I'm sure there are plenty that would have gotten out of their car and walked right up to AHS students and continued to taunt them. I know I would have, and i'm sure rebelraider would have as well.
  11. Maryville will be at the top, the other's dont matter. Simple as that.
  12. Bigsneaky, I'm going to have to go with RebelRaider on this one, Maryville will be back in the championship this year, there's no one in their region, county, or even the state that can stop them. Melrose and Hillsboro are both good teams, Hillsboro's record even shares similiar traits with Maryville's. But for Maryville, rebuilding is never the word for how they will look next year, reload fills the roll much better.
  13. Alcoa....Maryville...Is this even a rivalry? Or is it just that Alcoa hates Maryville because they beat them year after year after year...I think that is a closer analogy to this series...Alcoa, do your talking on the field, if you even come within a touchdown, then you can do some talking. Until then, why dont you all go practice a little, it might serve a better purpose, pretty sure they dont award points in football for who can talk the most...
  14. Alcoa has a few "good" athletes, i'm not even sure i'm willing to admit that...This guy goes on a list of the good players and runs short on 6...Would you like me to list all of maryvilles good players? I would but it would be much easier for me to just tell you to buy a program, they're all in there. Give it up, Alcoa is awful...
  15. Maryville will return to the top. That's really all that can be said...The purple pounders? the only reason their name should be thrown out there is to simply insult.
  16. Are you all honestly still debating who will win this game? I'm sorry Alcoa, but Maryville will prevail...They always have, they always will...there's nothing that Alcoa, or anyone else for that matter can do about it. What will Alcoa fans do after they get beat in football, again, start talking about how you'll win in basketball?? Honestly, give it a rest, Maryville will win, You all say Alcoa has confidence and faith, well those are 2 qualities, Maryville has confidence, faith, experience at winning, superior athletes, superior coaching, and simply a better team. Alcoa get over it, you will lose, go start a "Alcoa vs. Greenback" or something...
  17. Jeff Smith is a great player, if he continues to add weight with muscle, i'm sure that D1 is a great possibility for him if he works hard...however hard work hasn't always been his motto..
  18. Alcoa is awful, you got beat by maryville and WB last year, alcoa is worthless, honestly i would not normally say something but someone needs to inform these alcoa fans they should find a new team, everyone else has...
  19. Ummm....Maryville will easily win this game....Honestly i dont even think that this should even be a topic, Alcoa shouldn't even be allowed to play maryville, they're team might as well not dress for the game...
  20. You cant prove a case without evidence, and as of right now, there's no evidence that she can do it... I am in no way think that lisa is not a great player, but until i see further evidence that technique works, i'm still forced to believe, that it simply doesn't.
  21. I've seen stephen in action, and he can really "smoke" the competition. He will be a huge help to the rebels this year, and will definately carry on the maryville tradition.
  22. Lisa Fekete is a great defensive player, her "slapping" technique is awful, I've had the chance to watch a few maryville games this year and I dont think i have seen her do anything but bunt and walk back to the dug out...She has the potential to be a good player, but potential only means that you haven't done anything yet...
  23. I appreciate the comment Rebelraider, as a bystander for many years to the football field, it's only a matter of time before the rebels take their proper seat again on the throne of 4A football.
  24. Maryville doesnt need and has never had sole players that carry their team, they play as a team and win as a team, Heritage has one good player?? I even find that hard to believe, Maryville will win easily, thanks to teamwork and an all around solid team.
  25. Maryville is coming back with enough seniors for 2 teams. If that wasn't enough, this group of seniors has done nothing but win since they've been apart of maryville. 8-0 as freshman in which they averaged 52 points a game, never a loss in J.V. or Varsity, none until last years semi's, their blood was spilled for the first time, and i have a feeling they didn't like the taste, with weapons such as Andrew Clement and Stephen Childs at wide outs, and various weapons such Antonio Byner, Ryan Tallent, and "Tank" Baker at the RB, it seems as though QB Cade Thompson's biggest problem this year will be deciding which method he wants to score with. And he will have all day to do it with an entire offensive line returning. But dont think that the rebels defense will be slacking off any because threats like Jeff Smith, and Matt Valentine, had been plaguing quarterbacks since they set foot on the field. Maryville has all the caoches', players, and raw power to win. Maryville #1
