Anyone who followed Coffee County softball knows that Kasie Meeks didn't smile very often but I think I saw a little bit of a smile yesterday.

Sometimes they finish up one game and travel to another field to pick up in the middle of another game. They have a coaches show during the week. They interview outstanding players after the game. I just can't say enough about these guys. They are terrific!!

Congratulations on your 2000th!!!!!!!!!!!!!! broadcast. I love to listen to your show. I really appreciate all the time that you put into these Coffee County sports. There have been alot of times that I had to listen on the radio because I wasn't home from work yet. It's nice to turn on the radio and hear someone bragging on what a great bunch of kids we have here. It's easy to see that you really enjoy what you do. Keep up the good work!!

I asked someone at the Coffee Co. game and was told that Columbia won 9-0. Not positive.

Nice try GOMIDSTATE! You are just a trouble maker. I am glad to see that nobody fell for that garbage. Umpires would lose their jobs if they were caught on film doing something like that. The Lady Raiders did not spit on their hands. They just had hair ribbons in their hands (some kind of fun towards the other team) but definitely not spit!!!! Both teams played a great game as always. It is always fun to watch these teams play. Kasie Meeks pitched a great game only gave up one run. Great defense Lady Raiders! Looking forward to watching you girls play in Fayetteville! BTW- Why do some always blame the umpires?

One thing that has not been mentioned. Coach Floyd can manufacture runs when necessary. If CC had been behind, different strategy might have been used & runs scored later in game.

thumb You're right the state is full of good pitchers!! Kasie Meeks has my vote as one of the state's good pitchers. She may not throw in the 60's but she is pretty good. When Coffee County gets their bats going they will be tough to beat. Congrats on the win against Beech. Some think it was just a fluke but it was something not too many teams have done this year. I am in awe of any of these girls that play sports they work very hard at it. They all need to be recognized

I'm sorry, I honestly didn't mean to stir up all this. I agree with everyone's comments since my first reply. Hopefully this will all die down now. I would just like to wish everyone playing in Memphis good luck. Thank you.

Just to comment on Antwan's earlier post of "i wonder if CC is going to play there varsity this time." Yes, CC did play there varsity, but Miss Kasie Meeks, CC's pitcher who SHUTOUT the Lady Warriors, just happens to be a FRESHMAN. In addition Miss Jenna Swanson, CC's all-district catcher, also happens to be a FRESHMAN. So, just b/c CC played their younger players in the previous meeting w/ Riverdale, doesn't mean that CC didn't have the talent on the field to win. No hard feelings in any way, I just wanted to point out the fact that CC has great talent at the freshman level, and that they didn't "wimp out" in their first meeting by playing younger players.
