  1. If you read carefully I clearly said "go to state" not "win state". Your argument has no relevance because Blackman will in no possible way play any of those teams in district, region, or sections. Out of all those teams you named I have only seen Brentwood and they look very good. If Brentwood doesn't make state I would be very surprised, but like I said their competition is not Blackman, but Hendersonville, Smyrna, Clarksville and Rossview (I think Gallatin is out with the lose already).
  2. Blackman is by for the best team and will win the district. Blackman is probably one of the best teams that I have seen play this year. They will not only win their district, but most likely go to state and no I don't play for them.
  3. Group A Blackman v. Rossview (2-0) Blackman v. White House (2-0) ECS v. White House (6-0) ECS v. Rossview (2-2) Don't know any finals for group B though.
  4. Why are you even asking this? It will be Farragut and we all know it. Down year or not Farragut will be a top team in Tennessee, as a down year for Farragut is an outstanding year for most.
  5. eagle, I remember something from last year that said he was the one of the best coaches last year. However, I have also heard about how he made fun of a mentally challenged kid (doesn't he teach that kind of class though). I am not saying that he is not an (you know what) because he definitely is, but from the outside I thought he was a good coach. I heard that many of them quit because of a baseball incident that was going to affect them. You could be right about the club soccer though, as club soccer has many talented players. I would even say that some of the talented players don't even play club in Clarksville.
  6. Many of those teams you mentioned are in their division, so you have to play them. Henry County, they may see in regions, therefore it is smart to see what they have (same with Rossview and Clarksville/they have been the top three in district 10 lately) and they always play Father Ryan, which means win and they will probably play you. If I remember correctly Ryan went farther than you guys too, and HHS doesn't appear to be lacking in the talented players department either. Their JV team will probably be one of the best in the state, so people are still going to the powerhouse over the up and coming team. Keeping playing and don't worry about not playing Hendersonville, it's only one team.
  7. No offense, I'm not on any side, I just think the thought of Farragut playing anyone is a bit funny. That idea is ridiculous, if Farragut played everyone that wanted to play them, they would play at least fifty striving teams. Every talented team doesn't play everyone that wants to play them, as you can only play a certain amount of teams and most teams don't want to play teams that they will blowout by ten plus goals (unless a district team), although i'm not saying SD would be blown out or not.
  8. With all the talk about players leaving and what not. How good is Clarksville High School, do they deserve being number 11 or are they overrated, and will they finally lose the district? What's your thoughts and if they will lose the district: who will win and will they be the runnerups then?
  9. From what I remember this was basically all about Hendersonville. The answer is that Hendersonville probably won't play them, unless they win state or get close. The reason for this is that Hendersonville is in AAA, not division 2 and that they already play one of the toughest schedules in Tennessee. Hendersonville has the teams they want to play from a thought of improving against the teams they might have to defeat to get to state (as do most teams), such as Franklin, Brentwood, Rossview, Henry county, and Clarksville. As it would stink if they lost to Henry County because they decided to play PJP 2 and not feal out a team they might face in regions. (Henry County was just an example, don't know how good they will be this year)
  10. Soccer players are the most athletic athletes of any sport. No sport can compete with the constant running and then full out sprits that every soccer player has to run. However, Football is a physicaly tougher game. I can not believe all the injuries that professional football players play with. AN example of this is our own Steve McNair, look at all the injuries that this man has played with through out his career. If that was to happen to you or I we would be in bed indefinitely. As for mental toughness, all sports demand a high level of it. You have to be a able to make a mistake (which you will, don't care who you are) that might cost a goal or a touchdown and play up to your abilities the next time. Although it seems simple, anyone that has ever played a team sport knows how hard this really is to achieve. Anyways both sports are good sports, soccer is probably better to play and football is probably better to watch.
  11. It certainly will not be Dickson, they were horrible last year. Who were the three starters gone?
  12. I do have to agree, Hendersonville is always in the hunt, but they lost a lot from last year's team. I do believe that Smyrna, Clarksville, Gallatin, or Rossview may be able to knock them off and at the very least force Hendersonville have to go to Brentwood, which could keep them out of state. That section goes through Brentwood this year, not Hendersonville. I am also curious what people think of Science Hill, Gallatin, Smyrna, Rossview, Cordova, and Cleveland(lost 3 times to McMinn). I know that all these teams expect to compete and have at least been knocked off by state teams.
  13. I have to agree, Brentwood will definitely be a force and not really a surprise. If I remember correctly they made state last year. Clarksville will also have a very good team, along with Rossview from the same district (they finally have a true senior class paired with a lot of juniors from club teams). I think that both teams will be very talented and should offer at least 2 very good games this year. Farragut and McMinn will compete with each other and I expect it to be closer, but I don't know if McMinn can take them down in state.
  14. I agree with most of what you guys are saying. Brentwood and McMinn are the favorites inmy opinion to go to state. However you can never count out Farragut and McMinn will have to play DEFENSE!!! 7 goals in a state game is horrible I don't care who the opponent is, if you make it to state you should not give up more than 5 goals.
  15. Here is my top twenty teams next year. Grant it is not in perfect order as I have not actrually seen all of these teams play and I don't know about seniors for must of them, but these 20 teams should be the teams that will be ranked next year. I don't know, what do ya'll think of this? 1)Farragut 23-02-00 2)Brentwood 18-03-02 3)Oak Ridge 18-06-01 4)McMinn Co. 19-01-00 5)Hendersonville 18-03-01 6)Blackman 16-05-02 7)Clarksville 16-06-01 8)Gtown Houston 11-05-05 9)Science Hill 13-04-01 10)Bearden 13-07-01 11)Franklin 11-09-02 12)Centennial 08-04-02 13)Cordova 09-05-02 14)Gallatin 12-08-01 15)Rossview 15-08-02 16)Smyrna 13-06-02 17)Ridgeway 10-06-05 18)Maryville 11-05-00 19)Columbia Central 16-05-01 20)TN High 11-04-00
  16. I am really bored right now, so here is an interesting topic in my opinion. Who will be the top 20 teams next year??? I took the liberty of naming all the teams with at least 8 wins (seemed like a good number to stop at). I decided to say 20 because then it would show teams with younger guys who with the year that just passed might do some damage. Farragut 23-02-00 McMinn Co. 19-01-00 Brentwood 18-03-02 Oak Ridge 18-06-01 Hendersonville 18-03-01 Blackman 16-05-02 Clarksville 16-06-01 Columbia Central 16-05-01 Rossview 15-08-02 Tullahoma 14-07-01 Henry Co 14-05-01 Smyrna 13-06-02 Bearden 13-07-01 11 Science Hill 13-04-01 10 Gallatin 12-08-01 Gtown Houston 11-05-05 Franklin 11-09-02 Dyersburg 11-04-02 Cleveland 11-07-01 Maryville 11-05-00 TN High 11-04-00 Mt Juliet 10-04-07 Ridgeway 10-06-05 Ooltewah 10-07-02 JCM 10-02-02 Dobyns-Bennett 10-10-01 Sullivan South 10-06-01 Warren Co 10-05-01 Ravenwood High School 10-07-00 White Station 09-06-04 Cookeville 09-10-02 Cordova 09-05-02 Bartlett 09-09-00 Centennial 08-04-02 Soddy-Daisy 08-09-00
  17. Ok, so it is that their defense is horrible. So the real question I quess is who will win Brentwood or Farragut??? Trust me Brentwood does have a defense, I highly doubt they will get 7 against them. One more thing, what happened with Hendersonville?
  18. What happened to Mcminn, do they not have a defense or is Farragut just that much better than everyone else? If it is the ladder Houston will be dominated and Farragut should be able to take the title pretty easily.
  19. Hendersonville is a very good team and they do have a chance to win state. They have a lot more than just Xander, they are great on corners and could give whom ever they play a hand full. As for the Clarksville game, I was at the game and would hardly call it scraping by at all. Clarksville was at home and Hendersonville just flat out controlled the game hands down. They out ran Clarksville and was more physical then Clarksville as long as playing more technically talented. Hendersonville couldn't find the net and in my opinion had a harder game before than clarksville got. Rossview was looking for revenge since last year's elimination to Hendersonville, while Gallatin just seemed to be happy to be in region. Rossview is a more physical team than Gallatin and I know that Gallatin beat them, but I still believe Rossview to be a better team when they decide to play their game. None of this matters any more, so here are my picks for state. Brentwood Oak Ridge Hendersonville Farragut then Brentwood vs. Hendersonville Yeah I know I picked Hendersonville, but I don't think Farragut can beat McMinn and Hendersonville in back to back days, which I think it is set up that way.
  20. NIckforte4261 be quiet. All I ever see you do is criticis everyone's post, but you never say anything worth reading. You quit your high school team because you didn't play varsity and then you started talkin' trash about your old school, which is Hendersonville.
  21. I think what the ref was trying to say that Clarksville and Rossview are doing very well for how spread out they are, which is seven schools in a city that is not that big compared to Hendersonville and like cities. Brentwood is only dealing with one school, I don't think you can compare the two, (as I live in Clarksville) my neighbors go to Rossview, but my house is closer to Clarksville so things are very tight around here. Basically the school board has done their job by keeping school numbers lower than most places, but hurt all the sport programs here by separating the most talented players. I don't really think that you can say the district they are in is that weak compared to all districts. I mean grant it, it is not like Hendersonville's whom is in their region, but it is a lot tougher than many other districts. Back to the reason this thread was made, which was the game. I for one was surprised by the out come. Now I did expect Clarksville to win but not by four goals, i thought it would by closer than that and might even go into overtime. Congratulations to Clarksville and good luck to both teams Tuesday in regions.
  22. WOW, Gallatin got a much easier road than Hendersonville. This game could be a potential upset between Hendersonville and Smyrna, both have been playing great ball and I am sure Smyrna wants to actrually beat Hendersonville this year rather than take the harder road like last year, definitely want to see this game. You can throughout records too, in such a rivalry, Gallatin has a great chance of winning district as whom ever else comes out will probably be banged up a lot worse than them, that is if they can get past a much improved Mt. Juliet team.
  23. Ok, from what I know these four teams won: Hendersonville, Mt. Juliet, Smyrna, and Gallatin But who plays who, when and where?
  24. When does the tournament start, and where will they play?
  25. According to soccerinfo.com Gallatin beat Lavergne 1-0. Although it said the game started at 2:00, so go figure. Hendersonville already played Wilson Central, but I don't know the score. Mt. Juliet and White House played at noon. Smyrna and beech play at 4:00. If anyone knows these scores please let us all know, as this is one of the more up in the air districts due to the talent level.
