  1. Opinions....opinions....opinions!! We all have , like em' or leave em'! LOL
  2. You may not realize it, but Pistol does the BEST she can. She is the only sports editor White County has, and she does a darn good job at it. She tries to make it to every sport at least once during their season, and yes she does cover the High School sports more than the elementary & middle school, but most of these athletes have stuck with it since elementary & middle school, so they deserve all the attention she gives. She is also great at putting other sports stories in that have been submitted by parents & players. You may not like what she writes, but that's the facts.
  3. THe school's address is 267 Allen Drive, Sparta,TN 38583.
  4. Well, I don't know if fanatic has been at the games, but I have, and what he speaks is the truth. Nothing against Coach Brown, I agree 100 percent that he has turned White County's football program around, but the backup QB situation has not been addressed. The QB who filled in for Delaney against Warren Co. was just that, a fill in. Maybe if they work with him to try to establish a passing game, it would be an improvement. He only handed off the ball, & flicked a few passes to JJ or a running back, but never actually threw a pass. What will happen against the stronger region teams?
  5. As far as White County goes, coach Brown is going to have some serious work on his hands this week. The QB they tried to use last night, #10, apparently isn't a QB. He obviously can't pass, he did a few flicks, but other than that and some hand offs, he showed nothing of a QB. If my memory serves me right, #2, Josh Brown, played some QB, as well as the coaches own son, #28, Aaron Brown. Why wouldn't you use someone who has played the position before, as to somone who obviously has litttle or no experience at the position. If Delaney is out for a while, this is a serious problem, facing the rest of the schedule, if you continue to use someone who can't execute a passing game.

  7. Since when did this post become a history lesson on Walker Valley & the zoning of Cleveland??? If memory serves me correctly the title of the post is "White Co vs Walker Valley...Who Will Win This One." If you feel you need to talk about where you live & how far it is from certain districts.etc...Please do it somewhere else.Thank you!
  8. I didn't say I was comparing us to Upperman. There were other teams there, and I didn't say that were were going to be better than the last couple of years. What I said was, that we looked good, and we had a CHANCE to be just as good. Apparently, you read these posts, and make up your own interpetations. And since you haven't been on here before I guess your entitled to start off on a bad foot.
  9. Well, I am sorry you feel that way Mr. Heisman, but as you are entitled to your feelings, we are so entitled to ours as WARRIOR FANS. We have a very good shot at being just as good, if not better this year as last. Yes, J.J. Taylor is back, and looking as good as ever, and his temper, & attitude are in check just fine. He had a few issues last season, but they have resolved themselves over the past year. Our QB is Kyle Delaney, and he looked TERRIFFIC at the passing camp at Upperman last week. We have a few sophmores that will make a HUGE impact. Be on the look out for Seth McDonald, & Sam Gribble.
  10. Not sure on the Livingston side. I'm not sure of who they lost, and how it's been going since Coach Lamb retired. On the Sparta side, defense has been looking good in spring practice, now if they can get the QB situation straight, offense will be looking good as well.I guess we will see Friday!!
  11. Our quaterback didn't help us out very much either. 3 interceptions, and esp. the one in the red zone, was not a very productive night. I was a little surprised to see him back out after the second one, but then again what can you expect from a coach who won't go for it on 4 & 2 at mid-field. Please don't get me wrong, I am very much supportive of what Coach Brown has done with the football squad, but sometimes you need to just put it all on the line, put your faith in your team, and go for it. We have had a wonderful year, so far, and it isn't over yet. We have had our ups and downs, and we could have come away with a perfect season, but the past is the past, and all we can do now is to look forward to the future.
  12. White CO. has a very good shot at the region, I believe our only foe will be Red Bank. I don't forsee a problem tonight with Central, and Rhett and JJ were participating in practice this week, although it was limited, and Jr. has been running some, but will not play this week. JJ and Rhett will see some action, and Rhett may have to punt, as Blake Maxwell hurt his ankle in practice Wed. and will be going for an MRI today. We will make the playoffs, and hopefully share a spot in the Region Title. Join us tonight at Warrior Stadium if you can.
  13. White County has J.J. Taylor, who is a very tallented athlete, not only in football, and basketball, but in baseball as well.
  14. Why can' t we all just get along?? Yes, I agree too, that it will probably be a low scoring game, and Rhett will DEFINITELY be missed, but we will prevail! Rogers, who has been doing most of our PAT's will probably get the go for the punting as well now. He has a good leg, and hopefully can stay healthy while Rhett is out. Mandell will be back, as he has practiced this week and looks good, and EVERYBODY in White Co. is all FIRED UP over Friday night! GO WARRIORS!!
  15. I spoke with Tommy Rowland, Rhett Rowland's dad, and he said that the MRI revealed NO TEARS in his ACL. The orthopedic doctor said that he hyper-extended his leg, and that it was bruised to the bone, but with some medicine, exercises, and therapy, he would miss at least the next 3weeks, and should hopefully be back for the last two games, and any playoff games. That was great news, as we had expected the worst. God does answer prayer.
  16. What a tragedy. Such a young and obviously very loved young life cut so short. As a parent of 2 high school students, I am deeply saddened, even though I do not know either of these girls or their families, and that is not important. What is important is that we all pray for both of these families during their time of need, and for the recovery of the other young lady. It is also important that if you have children, you tell them every chance you get that you love them, and that you pray for their safety often. You never know wneh it may be the last time you see them.
  17. Mandell Cullom should be back on the field at practice today or tomorrw, and ready for the game on Friday night. As for Rhett Rowland, the X-rays at the hospital on Friday night revealed no breaks, but they didn't have anyone to do an MRI, so he is going to go for one today. He was still very sore yesterday, and in some considerable pain. Hopefully, it isn't as bad as they first thought, and maybe after some therapy he'll be back in a few weeks. GO WARRIORS!!!!
  18. GO WARRIORS!! White Co. 28 Cleveland 7 @ the half. Wasn't able to make the game, but I have been listening on the radio, and doesn't seem to me that Plummer has been having a good night for Cleveland. He seems to be the one from Cleveland that has had the most build up. Not very impressed here at all. On the other hand, Sparta is having a GREAT night behind Hicks, Lewis, Taylor, Buckner and a whole host of other Warriors. Keep you updated later on.
  19. I know that from White County Kim Good was named Honorable Mention All-District and Sasha Howell was named All-District. I agree that Riverdale is good, but there are other players out there that do deserve recognition. All-District is a good way of doing this.
  20. FYI: My son is a proud member of the White County Middle School UNDEAFEATED football team. He is one of the BIG 8th graders, whom you have earlkier described. He is 5'7", 190lbs. and is 14 years old. As for the on-side kicks, my son is one of the kickers, and he does a very good job, as well as the others. For once, give credit where credit is due: the coaches and the players deserve every bit of recognition they get. White County Middle and Warren County Middle will face off again at White County High School next Saturday, 10/16/04 with kick-off scheduled for 6:30 in a championship bowl game. I encourage everyone to come out and see for yourself, as seeing is believing!!!! GO WARRIORS!!!!!!
  21. Sympathies go out to the feamily, friends, and members of the pee-wee team from White County. He will be mentioned in a lot of prayers from all over.
  22. She is remembered in our prayers here in Sparta. thumb
  23. Just wondering if anyone knows who made the all-district for 7-AAA? If anyone can help, it would be appreciated.THANKS!!
  24. Sasha Howell-White Co.- She is an excellent catcher, as well as a great at bat. She has been going to Club K for several years now, and is a prime example of the great work ethics of the Club K leadership. She will DEFINATELY be one to watch the next 3 years, as she is just a freshman this year. White Co. is going to be lucky to have her behind the plate. Way to go Sushi!!!!!
