  3. BGA played an outstanding game. Price did an excellent job of man marking Betts and I believe this was the first time that BGA had all of their players back to "full" health (I know that some were still banged up, but the first time they all played together). It is so hard to play a team 3 (or more) times in a season. Ask Brentwood about that, too. It definitely didn't go the way that we had scripted in our minds, but that's ok as well. My hat is tipped to coach Morrisey and her crew. They really were ready to rock and came out to win the big one. As someone said previously, I believe this will be an even bigger rivalry in the future as both teams bring back their key players and there will be a lot of emotion on each sideline. Congratulations to BGA. Well played.

  7. I apologize. It was my 200th win and it happened 2 years ago. It just so happened to occur at DCA. My assistant works extremely hard to be non biased in his postings. Feel free to talk crap about me (I am used to it) but leave him out of it. He spends HUNDREDS of hours updating the site with scores from teams that don't send him any info and he has to find in other ways. It is a very "thankless" job and he has done fantastic at it (not many other HIGH SCHOOL divisions has this kind of social media presence). We are blessed to have a lot of talent, but I remind you that just 5 years ago, we were 5-6-4. Success ebbs and flows. Good luck to your daughter next year in college. She is a very talented player. I think she will do well. But know this.... It's been a while since I have coached in college, but there are still a lot of fouls, cheap plays, coaches that scream in ALL kinds of languages to hurt players, a few ice baths on many fields, and a whole lot of politics. I doubt there is any moaning about ball girls/boys in the state championship, however.
  8. I certainly feel like the grandfather of mid state soccer, for sure.

  10. Don’t let this guy fool you.... Boyd is gonna be a team to be reckoned with. #31 scored a CRACKER against us last night!
  11. Usually, they do all mid state right after Christmas and then a few weeks after that they will do all state.
  12. This is outstanding news. RS has gone down hill in the past few years (mainly from "over use"). The championship field was one of the worst I have played in in a very long time.
  13. Petition to move Atlanta MLS team for Georgia High school football Make sure you read the comments after the petition. Some are pretty priceless. I honestly think that Booger wrote the majority of them. For ONCE, soccer might cause football to move a game instead of the other way around. "ProblemA tradition the residents of the state of Georgia hold near and dear to their hearts is the Georgia High School Football State Championships being held at the State's premier football venue on the second Friday and Saturday in December. Unfortunately, In July, the GHSA was strong armed into agreeing to postpone the state Championships until the following Tuesday and Wednesday, in the event the Atlanta United were to host game 1 of the MLS Cup finals. This decision was made without properly consulting the tax paying voters of the state.Unfortunately, The Atlanta United are likely to advance to the MLS cup finals, where Game 1 will be held at at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday December 8th. This clear injustice is an attack upon many of the hard working men and women of the state in rural areas who look to support their local community, as many of these people cannot take off work during the week to travel to Atlanta. This blatant oppression of these people is a monstrosity and a gross overreach of power."
  14. Name sounds familiar but not sure. Did he play at CN?
  15. I was there when coach Sparks was coaching (actually in school with his kids, as well) but I played for Coach Eiskamp (freshman year) and coach Jones (the other 3 years). Coach Sparks was one of the most godly men I know, and when I was there, their team was the team of the decade (won several NAIA national championships in football and had many players go to the NFL).
  16. I know I'm gonna pay for this but... Go CN Eagles! (Class of '93) For real, however, that was a nice win by LMU. They were always a quality opponent. It is in the middle of no where but you are right, great facilities and beautiful area. Good luck with Columbus State!
  17. Coach Parker was at Franklin from 2007-2012 and was also a girls assistant coach for 2 seasons. Our thoughts and prayers to the Parker family. Stephen John Parker Memorial Site Dear Friends and Family, It is with deep regret we inform you that Stephen John Parker has passed away. Steve was born in Slough, England, and died on Friday, Novemeber 9th, 2018 in Franklin, TN, USA at the age of 72, 24 days before his 73rd Birthday (December 3rd, 1945). He was surrounded by loving care from his family on all sides, through his last days until the very end. We extend an invitation to join the Parker family for a Celebration of Life (and football!) on Saturday, December 1st, at Steve and Paula’s home in Franklin, Tennessee. The welcoming will begin at 2:00 p.m. CST, followed by his service, with a reception immediately after. We welcome all those who can attend to gather together with us at 2217 Castlewood Dr. Franklin TN. This will be a relatively informal service, so please come as you are, with dressing appropriate for the outdoor elements of early December. Steve has requested an intimate setting for his remembrance meant, above all, for warm conversation and joyful reckoning. Bring along your favorite stories to share, as such recollections have always been one of his favorite pasttimes. Similarly, if you have any photos you would like to share, please link them in a response to the original email so we can be sure to get them in our albums! Steve is survived by his wife Paula, and his 4 children Eric, Andrew, Stephannie, and Craig. His long list of contributions to our world include services to a vast array of schools, universities, clubs, and sporting organizations, such as the Unites States Soccer Federation. Please help us by sharing this news with those you may know who also loved Steve as we have, by forwarding this email or sharing this RSVP As a final request, please do not send flowers. Alternatively, please consider making a donation in Steve’s honor to one or all three of the following organizations which funds the care of other families who have been burdened by Lewy Body Dementia and other related Parkinson and Alzheimer’s disorders. https://www.lbda.org/donate https://alzfdn.org https://www.michaeljfox.org Please RSVP at your earliest convenience. Thank you, and many kind regards from each of us. Sincerely, The Parker family

  22. Field 3 is one of the worst. It makes a huge difference.
  23. Due to how AWFUL the championship field is, they have moved the AA and AAA finals to field 5 (just to the left of the stadium field). How an auxiliary field is in better condition than the stadium field is boggling. I'm sorry, but if you are hosting the entire girls state tournament, these fields need to be in better condition.
  24. Thanks man. CCS is one quality program and Coach Sneller is a class act. We both talked at the end of the game that we hate that a team has to win or lose by a PK shoot out. It was an incredible game and both teams were "empty". It really could have gone either way at any time in the match. The field was TERRIBLE. I can't IMAGINE what the final game of today is going to be like.
