  1. Unicoi County's shortstop Emily Bennett is awesome. She's got a great glove and a good bat. She's very consistent at the plate. I look for big things from her in the next two years.
  2. Unicoi County has been playing outstanding defense all year, especially in the postseason. The bats are really starting to wake up and dont forget Natalie Lockner's great pitching. As long as the Lady Devils play their game and take care of business they should go far
  3. That just goes to show that players win ballgames and not coaches. So many people thought they would not make it out of the district, but the Lady Devils have so much heart and determination. They deserve to be WALKIN IN MEMPHIS!!!!!
  4. Unicoi has been playing very well as of late. As long as they don't get ahead of themselves and play like they're capable of they can do it.
  5. Yeah, you're right. The girls are the reason for the program's success. But anyone involved with Lady Devil softball in any way will tell you that without Grady Lingerfelt they wouldn't be where they are today. Other than two of the seniors, he is really the only link between the great State Champion team and this year's state hopeful team.
  6. I agree. Byrd is a great catcher. without a doubt one of the best in the state
  7. Hey hvwarrior, for starters, someone who thinks the word "maf" even exists in the english language has no business calling anyone an idiot. Second of all, the devils will prevail when it counts and nobody will even remember that game.
  8. Hey butch, for starters, it looks to me like you're the one living in the past. I mean, football and basketball are over. I didn't care who beat who then and sure don't now. Besides, what do GUYS sports have to do with who wins in softball? That just goes to show you're just runnin your mouth and makin yourself look stupid when you ain't got jack to say. I'm sad to say I'm embarassed for you.
  9. First of all, it was one game not a "sweep" and second of all, what does it have to do with football or guys' basketball?
  10. What's the matter butch? Reality startin to sting?
  11. the Warriors may not have whined, but there sure were plenty of tears shed after the first game. In the immortal words of Tom Hanks, "There's no crying in baseball". I think the same goes for softball. Also, I don't remember Unicoi getting any breaks. What stands out in my mind is Lockner's impressive outing in the circle, outstanding Lady Devil defense and a typical day for Unicoi at the plate, unlike Saturday, when the Devils had an off-day offensively, as all teams do.
