  1. Well, you were close. This is Jonathan Meschendorf, and my dad would agree with me on everything I've said. Looks like somebody's been fibbin' to you! thumb
  2. Well...nonetheless, I'm right about the Jamboree.
  3. Good question with a simple answer: Maryville fans are getting a rather horrible reputation by their actions on this board. I'm certainly aware that Maryville doesn't host the event every year. The gate is split in fourths between all possible hosting teams (four, if you can't figure it out). Maryville, for it's tremendous effort in scrubbing it all together, gets a larger cut, and possibly even all concession sales. And I thought D-B does scrimmage Maryville? Or they used to...? That's a pretty good fit for D-B...because that's what Kingsport people are, Maryvillians without the "612 Gold Balls at 82542893 Lawrence Boulevard".
  4. The meet Director determined that the time was wind-aided.
  5. You Maryvillians have a lot on your chests. You boys could certainly benefit from a relaxing vacation. MHS, I apologize if I didn't answer your question. I tried to give you some inside scoop on why the Jamboree was moved up, in a serious manner. It's not my intentions to sound like a ###### here (although I probably do to you), but Maryville honestly does organize/plan/run the Jamboree, otherwise known as a giant "CF".
  6. Look, you ain't got to get all ancy on me. Apparently, I struck a nerve...which leads me to believe that Maryvillians also heed my assertion. You named one guy out of 1,000s that have played at Maryville High. Every school can name one guy who knocked a 320 lb. fullback down once. Let me break it down to you like this... Maryville can't be the best at everything, in case you haven't figured it out, THEY DO HAVE WEAKNESSES. P.S.- Please do not name 1,000s of former Maryville players that you think "hit hard".
  7. Is that all you people talk about? I wasn't slamming them, just making a point. Such as UT not being known for it's stellar defensive back play. Maryville has many good qualities, including being fairly well-coached, a balanced offensive scheme, and most of all...depth. Maryville's just not a team that will knock people's heads off week in and week out.
  8. Thompson's probably in the phone book. Call him and ask him who organizes the MOC Jamboree.
  9. Yes. And on a broader scale...they should go after talent like Patrick Turner and Lamon Williams.
  10. Just exactly who do you think runs and organizes the Jamboree, GovMan? Good ol' Maryville...where the men are men and the sheep are nerrrrrrrrrrvous.
  11. Well, I am...but if they're going to recruit in the Knoxville area, they should do it on an annual basis. Such as this year...Jeff Jennings, anyone? I've said this before, and I'll say it again, when Cory Anderson decides that he wants to play, he's the best high school inside linebacker that I've ever seen.
  12. What about these "bad" teams?
  13. If you know anything about what you just said you know that Cory Anderson would much rather be wearing a nylon jersey and playing with a round orange ball. There's no disputing him being an incredible athlete, which he is (2 plays out of 5) when he wants to be. About Fred Smith having no football knowledge...ask Fulmer if Heath Shuler had football knowledge. Believe me...their scheme doesn't require Bill Walsh to figure out. I would have just recruited George for the simple fact that he threw for 2,000+ yards in two straight years and won a state championship and a Mr. Football and played literally 11 miles down the road.
  14. I hate open dates and Jamborees, as well. What you guys have to learn is that one thing and one thing only is running high school football right now: Money. People are going to have their Jamboree, you better believe that. Maryville's AD, whom I'll refrain from naming, won't let that happen due to the enormous gate that Maryville receives. And you were right on about the T$$AA...I like that.
